Far away from the crowded city, in a time and place forgotten in history, the great walls that surround the palace are seen with ease, even in the depths of the forest.
The secrets of the palace were protected by the loyal royal guards, who were willing to die in order to achieve their orders, and, because of that, not a human managed to speak a word about the palace.
A pair of two royal guards, standing on the wall, were paying close attention to the movements in the forest, while one of them was pointing out every move that he saw, the other was directing his arrows towards a point in the forest.
‘This is the end for you.’ and as he was about to release his arrow, the other guard told him to stop
‘Don't you think that you're way too confident? Taking into consideration the distance, it's impossible to see her.’
‘If you try to stop me one more time, I’ll point this arrow towards you.’ the guard said, smirking
As he releases the arrow towards a point in the forest, he looks at his colleague and begins speaking again.
‘I'm going to put my life on the line on the fact that I've hit her. Let's go check it out.’
‘Son of a--’ mutters the other guard, while rolling his eyes
In the depth of the forest, where not even the animals dare to travel, a girl is running, as far as she could. As she is running, she often looks back from where she came, with a terrified look on her face, she sees the arrow coming towards her. Trying to protect herself from the arrow, but without success, she is hit in her right shoulder. The sharp pain makes her fall to the ground.
There was no time for her to whine in pain. As she took the arrow from the place she was hit and covered the wound with a piece of clothing, trying to stop the bleeding, she began running again.
‘This pain is nothing compared with that hell. At this point, I’ll embrace death, rather than embracing that future.’
Facing the reality, the short lived moment of hope vanished suddenly as she saw the big cliff that was in front of her. She almost stumbled and fell from the cliff.
‘As if I would have a chance to live after what I've done.’ she thought to herself as she came back to her senses.
After that, she closed her eyes as she let herself fall from that cliff, without hesitation.
At the bottom of that cliff, where a river found its way in that land of the forest, a man was standing with it’s feets into the cold water, looking at the sky. As if fate had written this meeting into the book of life, he saw a girl who jumped off the cliff, and then, in an instant, before he stood up to catch her, he had a flashback of a memory that didn’t take place long ago.
In fact, in the very morning of that day, when he was just taking a walk, an old woman grabbed him by his arm, stopping him. As he looked down at that lady, he tried to get out of that situation.
‘I’m sorry, I can’t help you right now.’ and as he tried to walk, the woman held him more tightly
‘Oh, young man, you're slowly walking, without realising, towards an uncertain destiny. It seems like your faith is tested once again.’
‘I don’t believe in such things.’ said the boy as he managed to get his arm out of the lady’s grip
‘Unhappy the one who does not have faith, because he will have to face a mysterious fate. Boy, tonight, you'll find the meaning behind your journey in this life.’
As the memory vanished before his eyes, he found himself catching the girl into his arms. Both of them fell into the depth of the water, and the boy managed to help both of them to exit from the water. Jokingly, he felt like fate was playing a game with him.
‘Oh, so I’m getting married?’
