She had arrived late to her grandfather’s house. She goes up to his study when she gets into the house. When she gets inside there isn't anyone in there. She then hears a noise coming from the basement. It sounds like a howl and a scream in pain. She grabs one of her grandfather’s daggers. She then slowly and quietly creeps to the kitchen and up to the basement door. She quietly opens the door and slowly and slowly steps down the old wooden stairs. She sees the long carpeted hallway of the basement that is lined with doors. The noise is coming from the far door on the left. She slowly and quietly creeps through the hall and up to the door. She quietly and slowly opens the door a crack. She peeks in and sees a young man tied down to a chair with silver chains. The chains burn the young man as he struggles against them. He is also covered in cuts, bruises, and burns. She steps into the room and the guy looks at her and growls lowly. She puts the dagger dagger down onto the table in the room and he glares at her. She sees the items on the table that she put the dagger down on. She sees a jar labeled Aconitum. She also sees syringes, knives of different sizes and shapes, and bottles of water. She walks up to the guy and he growls deeply.
“I’m not going to hurt you,” She whispers calmly.
“Like hell! You’re like him,” He growls loudly.
“No, I don’t hurt anyone unless it's necessary,” She says as she examines the chains to figure out how to remove them. She sees that there is a lock holding them in place. She goes back to the table and looks for a key. She finds it hidden under a pile of bloody rags. She turns and sees his eyes are a deep red and one deep green. She takes a deep breath as she walks up to him.
“If I undo this you can’t attack me, ok,” She comments and he looks at her in shock. He gives her a small nod. She walks behind him. She goes to unlock the chains and her silver necklace slips out of her shirt. Her grandfather had given it to her when she got her mark. It’s a small silver rose on a silver chain. It hits his arm and he hisses in pain as it burns his arm. Leaving a permanent rose shaped burn scar on his arm. She quietly curses and quickly frees him from the chains. He backs away from him and he rubs his burned and bruised wrists. She walks in front of him.
“Why did my grandfather do this to you,” She asks quietly.
“He wants to know where my pack is and I wouldn’t tell him,” He answers while watching her. She carefully takes her necklace off and wraps it in a rag. She then hands it to him and he looks at her confused.
“That will help you get past his magic security fields,” She comments as he gently takes it.
“Why are you helping me,” He asks, confused.
“Just go,” She says in a tired tone and he nods.
“My name is Victor. Look me up if you have any trouble with any wolves,” He says as he runs away. She gives a small nod as goes out the door. She goes up to her room to relax while she waits for her grandfather. She knows he will be upset. She comes back and looks down at the closed bottom drawer.
