CLARE'S DOOR CREAKED OPEN although it's two in the morning. Chase immediately examined the scene that was about to arise.
While the seventeen-year-old is still sleeping, Riley sneaked through the younger's room. Her body was inflated by darkness.
Grabbing her phone, she opened its flashlight and started rummaging for the item she's looking for. She searched on the nightstand and she saw a pile of empty water bottles and pill packets. Underneath them was Clare's journal.
Riley fastened her phase so she could grab the notebook and leave. While her idea was accomplished, Chase noticed that Riley was being uneasy. Nonetheless, he followed her as she slowly left the room.
Now besides the door frame, she sat on the floor as she used one hand to hold her phone whilst the other is skimming through the pages.
"Mother, blonde hair. Brother, alcoholic. Father, strict. Girlfriend, C..." She whispers as she read the first page. Curiosity hurriedly clasped to her face and Chase immediately noticed.
"Section 4 Block 65 Lot 18. Convenience Store, alcohol..." she whispers once more.
When she flipped through the next page, there was a drawing of a young girl with a floating boy beside her. A date was written beneath the page and it read 'January-05-2010'.
"Clare was five at that time," Riley mumbles, "and that's the first time she acted all... weird." Her thumb caressed the paper where the boy was drawn, "Is she hallucinating someone?"
Chase knew something disastrous will happen if Riley continuously invades Clare's journal so he blew on her ear. The girl twitched as a cold breeze unexpectedly hitched onto her skin. Goosebumps laid on her arms and fear welded onto her face.
Hurriedly, she closed the journal and entered Clare's room to return the notebook to its rightful place. The twenty-year-old shortly exited the room after that and the worried expression on Chase's face can't seem to go away.
