After hearing Yeong-hwan’s words of encouragement, she smiled in relief. She looked around in his room, it seemed like he never let go of his dream as a writer, despite saying that he was a failed writer, he still wrote books. There were numerous books on his desk, on shelfs, he filled his room with his dream.
‘What it’s your motivation to write? You’ve mentioned that you were a failed writer, so why do you still try?’ her question sparked joy into Yeong-hwan’s eyes
‘It’s my only way to stay out alive. Each of us has something that they need to achieve, whether it’s finding love or finding what you love to do. For me, writing it’s the only way to keep a connection between who I was and who I am now. So I write to never forget what I need to do.’ he replied to the girl’s question, his answers seemed to make the girl confused, so he added. ‘My answer made you question my sanity?’ he laughed
Yu Na shook her head.
‘No. I’ve found it interesting. The more you spoke to me, the more I realized that the fact that we met was for sure the work of destiny.’
‘We’ll get the chance to talk more as it seems like we’re bound to spend a lot of time together. I’ll get you some food, try to eat and recover fast. I’ll go out today and buy you some clothes, maybe I get the chance to find out more about what Mr. Han said.’ he informed Yu Na as he left the room to get the food
Not too long after that, Yeong-hwan returned with a tray of food. There wasn't much food, yet it was warm. That was the moment when Yu Na understood that it was a tough time for them, in this place of history.
‘I’m thankful for your efforts, but I feel like you’re going to have a lot of troubles because of me.’ worried the girl as she didn’t touch the food
‘Don’t be. It’s enough food for both of us, and if you want to know some details behind all my good deeds, then you can think of it and say that I’m paying for what I’ve owed to someone.’ he smiled gently to the girl. ‘I’m going to leave now. I’ll return before the sun sets. Try to rest as much as you can.’
After that, he left. Yu Na enjoyed the food that he made for her and felt the need to clean after herself. Looking into his house, she found many interesting things. On her way back to Yeong-hwan’s bedroom, she found a room whose door was blocked by a small closet.
‘He’ll be angry if I enter? I think so…’ she thought to herself as she was about to leave, but when she glanced back at the room, she saw a light coming from that room. ‘What’s that?’
She moved the closet and when she opened the room, she looked surprised. She ran into the room where, from a table, a candle started a small fire. As she put down the fire, she looked in shock to the room.
