The moonlight fell onto Blade's face, giving him a sense of peace. His eyes slowly close and he begins to drift into a slumber.
'It should be fine to rest a little…'
*whooooosh*
Blade felt a shadow fly by and suddenly jump up. He had knots inside his stomach.
'Something's not right.'
Blade put on his hood and slipped out of Thana's house. He looked around in all directions. The city lamps flickered and the small night breeze swept the fallen leaves. Blade closed his eyes and started to walk down the street.
*TAK TAK TAK*
'One… Two… Three…'
As he was counting the number of footsteps he heard following him, the footsteps began to speed up. He turned and entered an alleyway on his left.
*whoosh*
A dagger flew past Blade and hit the fence. Blade stopped and turned, facing the unidentified people after him. He locked eyes with the person standing in the middle.
"Subject 002. You are to return to the lab with us."
"Why should I?"
Blade glared at them and his eyes began to glow once more. Frost began to form on the walls and the pavement.
"You should listen to us while we're being nice."
"Shouldn't I be the one saying that?"
The agent sighed. They motioned for someone to come forward. A fourth agent stepped out of the shadows with someone in their arms. Thana.
"!?"
"Follow us obediently and nothing happens to her."
"You think I care what happens to her? She's just someone I used for survival."
Blade bit his lips hoping they would believe his bluff. Unfortunately… It didn't work. The agent in the middle let out a laugh. Blade broke out in cold sweat on his palms as he continued to glare at them. The agent lifted his hand and the one holding Thana put a gun to her head.
"You wouldn't."
"Oh, I would."
Blade turned to look at Thana. He thought back to his escape a few days ago. His decision to let go of any human feelings he had left.
'Why am I so worried about a nobody?'
Lost in his thoughts, the agent did not bother to give Blade another chance to change his mind.
