"Allen~!" As the teacher was finishing her lesson the door was swung open by Alice. "Let's go play! There are ducks at the pond!" She said, already grabbing me by the arm and pull me out of the classroom.
"Alice, I can't, miss Hellen still wasn't finished with.." I said, trying to escape out of Alice's suprisingly strong grip (or maybe I am just weak).
"No need, it wasn't anything that important and it seems the young miss really needs you." Hellen chuckles. I give a sigh of relief and Alice continues to pull me out of the classroom. We were halfway out the door when Hellen spoke up again, "But don't be surprised when you have extra work tomorrow!"
I curse under my breath as the door closes behind us. Alice is still pulling me, not responding to anything I say. "Alice, what are you doing? The garden is the opposite way..."
"I'll explain when we get there." She says. "But in the meantime, tell me what you were learning aout."
I sigh at the vague answer and decide to let it go. "Miss Hellen was teaching me about magic."
"Hah, only now? I've already begun my practical studies in magic!" She bragged. Although Alice was bragging about her knowlage on magic, I already knew everything that miss Hellen was trying to teach me. After all, magic was a big part of the game. The magic system was anything but complicated, since it came fro such a mediocre game as "Marlene Chronicles". But, seeing as the game world has turned into reality, I would have to guess things would be at least slightly more different. But the basics stay the same, people are born with a set amount of mana, there are 5 elements around us that mages can resonate with and control, Water, Fire, Earth, Air, Light and Dark. The usual generic elements that show up in any lame fantasy rpg.
But there's at least some new information I learned from miss Hellen. Mana and your elemental resonance is genetic. I originaly thought that it was random, because of how the heroine possesed the ability to control light magic, even though she came from a poor, commoners household.
Magic was always a thing that excited me most about fantasy stories so I guess there's one thing good about coming to this world...
"Hey, Alice." I spoke up.
"Hm?"
"How good are you at magic?"
Alice stopped in her stride for a second. She didn't turn around and continued to stare straight as she answered my question. "Well, you see, our family.... doesn't have the best history with mages...haha" Alice chuckled akwardly.
Suddenly I was reminded of Alice in the game, who was driven by jelousy by how good the heroine is at wielding light magic, yet she was left with minimal mana and could barely control her element. Maybe I shouldn't have asked that....
"But not to worry, dear brother!" She turned to me and patted my head, "Your big sister will keep on trying and will teach you all kinds of magic tricks in the future, alright?" She smiled.
I sigh in relief that she wasn't taking my question to heart.
Suddenly Alice starts pulling me once again and we stop at the door I recognise as fathers office. "What are we doing here?" I ask Alice, who seemed to be slowly creeping up to the door quietly.
"Shhh. Dad has an important guest, the carriage looked very fancy." She whispered.
Curious myself, I do the same as my siter and lean my head on the door, trying hard to understand what they are saying through the thick wooden door.
"I'm very sorry for dropping in like this, Antony. I know you must be busy, but I'm sure Allen and Alice will enjoy hanging around a new friend." The low voice of a man said. The man adressed father by name, meaning they must be very close, but I'm not really familiar with any of my fathers acquaintances....
"Haha, don't worry, I've been meaning to acquaint them with Ceil, so there's no problem here on my part." My breath hitched at my fathers words. Although Alice might not be familiar with the name, It would be a disgrace to my sister if I didn't know the name of the most popular capture target in the game, the crown prince, Ceil Castellard.
So that means, the other man inside my fathers office was the King! While in my trance of thoughts it seems I had leaned a bit too heavily on the door causing it to slowly open with a creak. Both me ad my sister stumble into the office, causing all heads to turn to us.
"I'm sorry for barging in like this, father!" I quickly bow my head in apology.
"Ah, it's ok. I was already thinking about calling you two over. Allen, Alice, meet His royal highness and his dear son, Ceil. Ceil will be staying with us for the week, so I want you all to get along." Father smiled.
I looked up and bowed to the King and turned my head to Ciel. It's a face I've seen many times over and over agai but... younger. Ceil has his signature golden eyes and blonde hair that's just a tone brighter than his father's. He looks about my age, maybe a few month older.
Although his appearance is that of a child, my mind ca't help but be filled with images from the game. His voice-acted lines were the worst in my oppinion, and that made me in turn hate the character... I didn't think I would be meeting him this soon...
Ceil catches my gaze which makes me instinctivly advert my eyes. The room is silent for a moment but then my father speaks up again.
"Why don't the three of you go to play?" He suggested.
"Sure, I'll lead the way!" Alice was the first to agree, while me and Ceil just nod our heads in agreement as we follow Alice, who is already skipping out of the office.
Although I said I wanted to avoid the main storyline as much as possible, it seems I overlooked the fact that Ceil and Alice meet at a young age, meaning, Allen also gets to know Ceil at a young age... how am I going to deal with this?
