PROLOGUE
“What are you doing!? Get a move on!” A man dressed in damaged red robes
stained with blood yelled out to a group of dwarves. His hair was long and
black, tied into a ponytail.
“We can’t just abandon’ our forge General! This ere’ forge has kept food on our’
table fer generations!” An old dwarf replied hiding behind what used to be a blacksmiths
hut, the area around them had been blasted to smithereens not too long ago,
with the start of a raid.
“If you and your posse don’t get a move on and help defend the wall’s, those
bastards won’t just destroy your forge, they’ll kill you too!” The man spoke
back in a more commanding voice. Every few seconds, tremors shook the very city
they were standing in, and in the distance, a giant colossus. A being so huge,
that he could use a small mountain as a chair, his skin was as red as blood,
and his eyes as orange as lava.
“But…!” The old dwarf went to speak again, but another, younger dwarf placed
his hand on old dwarves’ shoulder, “c’mon ya old geezer, we can rebuild the
forge.” The older dwarf scowled at the younger dwarf before ducking as a flurry
of arrows flew past.
“Fine, we’ll help! Get yer’ weapons and get to the walls boys!” The old dwarf
finally spoke after a second of contemplating, the general couldn’t help but
smile, “and while you’re there, maybe you could help rebuild the parts of the
wall that were damaged?” The old dwarf paused for a second, this man wasn’t
asking, he was demanding it be done.
“Fine, but just til’ the big 5 arrive General.” The general nodded ‘speaking of
which?’ the man thought, turning his head to face behind him. ‘Where are they?’
The man furrowed his eyebrows briefly before beginning to escort the dwarves to
the wall guarding the city…
Not too far away, in a forest lit with the light of the moon and stars up
above, there a group of 4 were walking in the direction of the chaos, one of
the women in the group had what looked to be a white baby fox with 6 tails
lying asleep on her head. “Should we let her sleep a little bit more?” The
woman whispered, turning her head towards her teammates.
“Of course not!” A man with brown hair and black eyes yelled, the man waved his
bow in the air, attempting to poke the fox
“We have a city to protect, and you want to let her sleep a little bit longer
Kelly!?” Another woman replied, this woman wore leather armour with metal
plates guarding her joints, to top it all off, she had two daggers resting on
her hips. She was quite the beauty, standing at 5”9 with black hair and blue
eyes.
“Calm down Freya, she’s waking up.” Another man with long brown unkept hair,
with wolf ears and a tail replied, he wore just leather pants and boots, a
hunting knife strapped to his right-hand thigh with a long sword strapped to
his back.
The sound of a fox yawning caught their attention briefly, and they all looked
to the head of Kelly, where the fox they had been talking about was stretching.
“Are we there yet?”
“No, but we are about to be.” Kelly spoke, in a soft and retracted tone. “So,
wake the hell up and get ready.” Freya spoke in a half-annoyed tone. The fox in
reply to this continued stretching.
“Alright, alright.” The fox spoke again, letting out one more yawn before
jumping down from Kelly’s head. “Did you at least sleep nicely?” Kelly asked as
a light began to form around the fox, who looked up at Kelly and somehow
managed to smile. “Of course, I did!”
The light around the fox grew brighter engulfing the fox before it continued to
grow, causing the group to look away. “Ahh… much better.” The group returned
their gazes to where the fox was standing and there stood a kitsune, with a
huge smile.
Standing at 5”6 the Kitsune had long flowing white hair that reached her hips, coupled
with silver eyes and an athletic figure, unlike the rest of the group that wore
armour of different kinds, she was wearing a white kimono with red accents that
only covered most of her thighs with knee high socks and sandals. On the side
of her head, there was a fox mask that was big enough to cover half of her face
with the same colour scheme as the kimono. On her fingers she had metal claws
that functioned as both weapons and finger guards, all of this made her up to
be an irresistible beauty.
“How do I look?” The kitsune asked, posing for the group. “Is now really the
time to be worrying about that?” Agis replied, not so secretively admiring her
for a second. “Well, you seem to like it.” The kitsune responded. The wolfman
blushed slightly, looking away. “Just put your mask on.” Agis said, heaving a
sigh.
“Oh right.” The kitsune chimed after hearing Agis’ words. “Thanks for the
reminder.” Pulling the mask over her face she let her smile fade.
“No problem.” Agis replied, glancing back at her briefly ‘thank whichever cruel
god that created this damned tower that she didn’t wink at me.’ Agis thought to
himself.
“Let’s get a move on.” Sai finally spoke again, shaking his head. “If we delay
our arrival any longer, there won’t be a city to protect.” The group of them
nodded their heads in response, “Try not to fall behind old man.” The kitsune
responded, not taking the time to hear any plans, and dashing off towards the
city at a pace that some of the group members struggled to even register.
“I’m one year older than you…” Sai grumbled in response, with both he and the
rest of the group following suit. ‘She’s lucky she has super hearing…’ He
thought to himself on the way.
“The 5 have arrived!” One of the soldiers defending the southernmost part of
the wall surrounding the city yelled out, one of the nearby soldiers sounding a
horn that signified the arrival of the small group in response to inform the
rest of the city.
Said small group entered the city and made a B-line for the centre of it, where
a tall castle stood made of stone and black stone. From here the group of them
could see the colossus in the distance, the mountains and forest around it in
chaos, fires everywhere.
“My God…” Sai spoke, taking all the destruction in chaos in, the city itself
had been successfully invaded, enemy soldiers running about and killing
innocent bystanders surrounded by gore and destroyed buildings, the northern
most quadrant of the wall having been destroyed, with dwarves faintly trying to
repair the damage in the surrounding parts of the wall.
“Kelly, Agis focus on the northern quadrant while Sai and I will go support the
east.” Freya finally spoke after a long breath of silence from the group, Kelly
and Agis immediately headed to the northern quadrant.
“Meghan.” The kitsune who was now on the other side of the city, standing on a
roof top near the northern quadrant turned her head in the direction of Freya,
her right ear twitching. “Take on the colossus, you can probably kill it on
your own.”
“Yes ma’am.” Her right ear twitched again; she understood Freya couldn’t hear
her talking but she still felt the need to say it.
“Raaaaagh” The colossus roared, its footsteps sending greater and greater
tremors into the city with every step it took towards it. In front of it, there
were thousands of monsters and soldiers marching towards the city through the
forest, which had been mostly cut down by the passing by soldiers and monsters.
“It looks like I’ve got my work cut out for me.” She joked to herself, blitzing
past the nearly destroyed northern quadrant which now had Kelly and Agis defending
it, Kelly healing the injured soldiers while Agis killed the enemy monsters and
soldiers.
“The 5 have arrived!” One of the enemy soldiers shouted, just barely being able
to make out the kitsune that was making a B-line for the colossus. “Don’t
falter, the colossus, will handle them!” Another soldier replied, attempting to
boost the morale of the soldiers there.
“Oh come on, I feel hurt.” The soldiers froze, the warm yet dangerous voice of
the kitsune came from behind them, she had moved behind them faster than they
could even register her movement.
“Meghan Mccallops, you damned human…” One of the soldiers grumbled under his
voice, and this time the Kitsune actually looked hurt or at least she did with
her slightly lowered ears. “You do realise that I am a Kitsune right?”
“I kn~” The soldiers’ words were cut short quite literally when Meghan suddenly
attacked them. Slashing the back of the soldier that attempted to boost the
morale, waves of pure white energy slashes protruded from his body, growing,
and cutting down hundreds of soldiers in the process for a few metres before it
eventually faded away.
“Grrrrrgh.” Seeing this, the colossus eyed the kitsune, it didn’t seem to
possess the ability to talk. “Sorry, what was that?” The kitsune asked in a
teasing tone. “Grrrgh.” The Colossus grumbled, seeming to ignore her, but in reality,
it just couldn’t hear her.
Heaving a sigh, Meghan went on another killing spree, killing monsters and soldiers,
heading towards the colossus who looked to be getting annoyed. “Rughhh.” The
colossus looked to be contemplating something.
“Raaaaagh!” The colossus raised its head slightly, opening its mouth as wide as
possible. “Eww.” The woman plugged her nose with her fingers, she could smell its
breath and it didn’t smell too good.
Notice: Colossus Boss is using skill ‘Hells Pillar’.
A blue window popped up in front of the kitsune and she took a short moment to
read it. ‘Moon Walker.’ She thought, the same white energy from before formed
around her feet with a silver hue.
“Raaaaaaaaaaaaaghh!” The colossus lowered its head and released a pillar of
flame in the direction of Meghan, vaporizing the forest, killing all of the
remaining monsters and enemy soldiers, which had still numbered in the
thousands.
A few seconds later, the yellow pillar of fire died out, a giant orange hot
crater made up of molten rock was left in its wake.
The colossus looked around the area, a smug look forming on its face. “Is that
all?” Meghan’s voice came from behind the colossus’ ear, the smug look on its
face disappearing with a wave of pain extending through its body from its neck.
“RAAGH.” The colossus reached for the side of its neck clutching onto it
attempting to stop dark greenish blood from spewing out. “Because that’s not
all I have.” The kitsune’s voice came from above the colossus this time,
causing the colossus to look up.
“Ruuuugh!” The colossus opened its mouth once more, to use the same skill. Its
eyes were widened and it looked to be in a panic
Notice: Colossus Boss is using skill ‘Hells Charged Pillar’.
“Aww, just for me?” Meghan spoke in a flattered voice. She was now floating in
the air using her low gravity skill ‘moon walker’, floating down towards the
ground at an incredibly slow pace.
The kitsune’s metal claws began to glow in the same aura as the energy around
her feet, the length of them extending from an inch to two, ‘lunar fangs.’ The
attack charging for a few seconds. In that time the colossus managed to fully
charge its attack but it was too late.
“Raaagh!” The colossus released the attack, the flames in the pillar of fire
had turned orange and had even taken on the visage of magma. The kitsune
smirked and leant forward. ‘It’s done.’
Shooting forward in a flash of white and silver light which formed a straight
diagonal line in the star lit sky that pierced and cut right through the pillar
of orange flame, cutting it in half and causing it to dissipate in an instant. A
bright white line formed a circle 360° around the neck of the colossus, which
began to grow in volume and brightness, rays of light began to shoot out from
the line.
“Raaaaaaaaaaaaagh!” The colossus screamed out in horror as the light grew
blinding all the soldiers that were still alive, both ally and enemy in the
vicinity until suddenly the light vanished.
BANG a loud noise echoed throughout the area, followed by a tremor which caused
most of the weaker soldiers to fall to their backsides. Shortly after the sight
of everyone in the vicinity began to return to them.
BANG another loud noise, this one sounding more akin to a thud than anything
else, and within a few seconds, a harsh earthquake that shook the very
mountains in the surrounding area and even caused some of the towers on the
castle to collapse in on themselves struck the entire area within a radius of
10 kilometres.
It had been done. “Phew…” The kitsune looked behind her, green blood coating
her steaming white claws. Heaving a sigh, she took in the sight of the
aftermath of her attack.
The colossus, now lay dead on its side, with its head loose on the ground not
too far away. The sight of it all caused the enemy soldiers to drop their
weapons, or at least those that were left of them, the monsters that hadn’t
been evaporated from the attack of the colossus boss retreated into the forest,
and the segue of the city ended in failure.
“Yeah!” One soldier started after a brief moment of silence, “Woooh!” Another
continued, and soon, the whole city was letting out cries of joy due to the
victory of the battle, even if it was a painful one…
