President Linnaeus, the Lion Type Therian and President of the Therian World, is currently standing in his office, looking out the window. He’s been discussing with his advisor, Pigzin, for the last half hour.
“I just don’t see this being a problem anytime soon.” Pigzin said, holding a classified document.
“Don’t you see…the Therians believe the lie that we’ve all been told. Most Humans believe it, as well.” Linnaeus said. “If they found out the truth, there could be outrage! They accept the sadism and superiority we drill into their skulls because they’re taught that Humans want us dead, and feel we’re inferior!”
“Hm…I suppose so.” Pigzin said, snorting a little.
“Ugh…” Linnaeus sighed, rubbing his temples. “Andrew, get me a glass of tea.”
Linnaeus’ servant, a teenage human named Andrew, nervously brought a glass of tea to him.
“U-um, I-I’d still serve you i-if there was a revolution, s-s-sir…” Andrew said.
“Don’t bullshit me, Human.” Linnaeus said, snatching the glass away, and using his tail to shoo him away from his desk. “The only thing keeping you under my paw is the knowledge that I’d eat you alive if you tried to flee.”
“Well..that and the Shark Type Therian you k-keep under the rug…” Andrew mumbled, backing away from said rug.
“They’re a Great White Shark Type.” Linnaeus corrected. “And…I Believe they need their tank cleaned.”
Linnaeus pushed a button, and the rug, which was actually a trapdoor, slid open, making Andrew fall in, screaming. He managed to cling to the side of the tank, avoiding the jaws of the hungry Shark Therian, Baity.
“U-U-Um, H-hello, Ms. Baity!” Andrew nervously said, as she stared at him, grinning. “U-Um, I-I can feed you a-after I clean your tank s-so…i-if you would be so kind as to n-not try to nibble me, I can help you…”
Baity snickered, submerging herself into the water. As Andrew started to climb down, Baity shot back up and grabbed him, pulling him down as he shrieked.
“Pigzin, we need to do everything we can to keep the truth hidden.” Linnaeus said. “If the populus finds out, it could send our rule over this world into utter chaos!”
“Okay okay…I get it.” Pigzin said, scratching at the large scar on his head. “I’ll see what I can do.”
“Hmph…” Linnaeus scoffed. “Oh, Andrew. When you’re done with Baity, I need you to do a check up on The Zoo. Get to it as soon as you get out.”
“Y-yes sir, Linnaeus!” Andrew said, being tossed around like a toy by Baity. “I-I’ll get right on it asap!”
Linnaeus stared out the window, at the large Ebony statue in his Garden. It was a statue of his Grandfather, the first ruler of the Therian World. He was a Lion Type too. He was a proud and mighty African Lion. Linnaeus himself is an Asiatic Lion, or at least half so. His Mother was an Asiac Lion Therian, whereas his Father was an African Lion Therian. His Grandfather had successfully overthrown Humanity, and placed his fellow Therians as the new dominant species on Earth. He had always hoped to live up to his Grandfather, ever since he was a cub. And yet, here he is stewing over a theoretical problem that could bring down the society he and his Family had worked to create. He gently combed the braid at the bottom of his mane, thinking about the current situation he’s been put in. Their Society was built on a lie. A lie that everyone had been taught since they were young, Linnaeus included. That the Humans wished to treat them as lab rats and experiments after creating them, and that his Grandfather freed the Therians, and allowed them to wrangle control of Earth. In actuality, most of the Scientists were fully aware they were, for the most part, Human, and wished to let them live in the Wild, or attempt to integrate into Society. Linnaeus had only discovered the Truth a little while ago, but he had already made up his mind. He’d stop at nothing to keep this secret as hidden as possible. He’d kill his own kind, and any creature, to keep it hidden. He imprison people, silence Therians, he’d do anything. He couldn’t risk Humans being given Equal Rights, and having the opportunity to exact revenge on Therians. Not to mention, his Family Line has had control over the entire world, and, through strict advisory, careful thinking, and risky decision making, had brought peace for all of Therian-Kind, save for a mysterious Therian and Human Camp he can’t seem to find. Should he lose even a little power, he fears he’d be unable to keep the world secure, and that turmoil could erupt. That isn’t a risk he’ll ever be willing to take.
“Um, s-s-sir!” Andrew exclaimed. Linnaeus turned to look into the tank. “N-not that I don’t appreciate Baity’s, um…thoroughness, but th-this is starting to genuinely hurt!”
Baity had been biting him and slamming him around for a little while now, and there was some blood in the water. Linnaeus growled a bit and walked over.
“Baity! Heel!” He shouted, making Baity roll her eyes and drop Andrew. “Now, go check on The Zoo. I want anything remotely suspicious or strange reported immediately.”
“Y-yes, sir…” Andrew said, mekly crawling out of the tank. “Um…m-may I dress my injuries first?”
“Do it. On. The Way. There.” Linnaeus growled.
Andrew stood up, and limped out of the room, without another word.
“Hmph…” Linnaeus grumbled. “That’s right…they’ll stay exactly where they are…underneath the rule of the Therians.”
He clenched his fist, scratching the window with his claws.
