Shadow: I used to be SO HAPPY AND HOPEFUL BEFORE… Before Maria died. I was just like you! Just, like you.

Shadow: The only thing that had mattered was to get Maria her cure. But we had hope that we would find it. That was the only thing that kept us up, I kept Maria up. I was created to help, to find a cure for her and to help this world.. I promised her we- - I would take her back to this planet. I’m… I’m jealous of you Sonic…
