The goal for the two of them was that they had two-weeks to find a Korean artist that they liked to work with for their next album. Their next album was to put more focus on collaborating with other musical artists around the world. So the group split up to search a couple countries to find artists to work with them. For the Eastern part of the world, the women knew that there were a few biggest music markets there: South Korea and Japan. So Cho volunteered to take South Korea because she knew one of her cousins who worked in the industry who could help them. Nicola took Japan, who had an idea what artists could work with the group. The remaining two of the members, Amelia and Chantel, needed to decide where they wanted to go. So the main vocalist went to South Korea, considering she had been to Japan so many times with Nicola.
Once Cho and Amelia had settled in their hotel, they went sightseeing around the city of Seoul a bit before meeting her cousin. So they walked around to go to many of the city’s best touring areas. From visiting the N-Seoul Tower to trying out beautiful South Korean traditional hanbok at the Gwangjang market, they finally went out to try out some Korean food at a nearby restaurant.
“This was so much fun!” Amelia hoofing down her Kimchi then drinking up a shot of soju coming from a bottle.
“Amelia, don’t drink too much of that! Soju is very strong and…” Cho warned her.
The leader sighed, “I don’t want you to get drunk before we go to the concert that my cousin suggested we should go to tomorrow. She even arranged for us to chat with some artists after the show.”
Amelia then takes another whiff of her shot of soju while she listens to her leader continue to chat about Kpop and Korean culture. Cho went through the simple breakdowns of Korean etiquette, the trends, and the whole nine yards about the Kpop industry to her. She always trusted her half Korean group mates, Cho and Chantel’s knowledge about South Korea. After all, they were the “interpreters” for their South Korean audience whenever they greeted with South Korean fanbase. The Comet Siren's leader also shared the same role with another part-Japanese group mate, Nicola, for their Japanese fanbase. The group’s biggest appeal was that some of their members were multilingual, which always made the main vocalist a little left out! Being the nearly only monolingual member of the group made her stick out like a sore thumb! Sure, she was German, but Amelia lost some of her knowledge of German language a long time ago.
Soon, the main vocalist half-listened to Cho droning on while still drinking her soju. She was getting a little tipsy from it. In the end, Amelia started unnecessarily giggling and swaying, which caught the attention of the Comet Siren leader. Cho then grabbed her arm to prevent her from drinking more soju.
“Melly! Please stop!” She told her sternly.
The drunk woman hiccuped and exclaimed, “What? Um… I’m gonna go outside and play in the rain!!”
Running out of the restaurant, Amelia didn’t care if she bumped into random people along the way. She needed to get happy again. So she danced in the rain without a care in the world as the pouring of rain drops painted on her soft skin. Waving her hand, Amelia pretended she had a wand in her hand, when in reality it was a chopstick. Immediately, Cho hurried outside to pull the chopstick out of the drunk woman’s hand.
“Oh, stop ruining my fun Cho!!! I showed that asshole Jaxon how wrong he was to break up with me!!”
Cho poured some water and handed it to Amelia without saying a word to her. However, the main vocalist noticed that her leader was shaking nervously while pouring the water into the cup. Amelia tilted her head curiously since it was very rare for Cho to be on edge, unless something happened.
“Um.. Cho.. Is everything all right?” She asked, watching the moonlight haired woman’s hands quivered while opening some food packets.
“Oh, everything's alright! Nothing to worry about!” Cho assured with her voice sounding higher than normal.
“Um… Sorry… I didn’t know my limit. At least I thought I did! Did I do anything…. Um, was I doing something wrong while I was drunk?” Taking a sip of her cup of water, the main vocalist watched Cho avoiding her eyes.
“Um… Well, whatever you do. Don’t look at your phone… Or the TV. Oh, look at the time! I’m going to talk to our manager about.. Business!” The Comet Siren's leader hopped off herself from the bed, then headed to the door.
Amelia wondered, “Why wasn't it a good idea to look at her phone?”
Pulling out her cell phone, her eyes went wide when she got a bomb of messages from her group’s manager to a bunch of news media outlets! Amelia swiftly unlocked her phone to read one message from Chantel saying:
CHANTEL: U fcked up.
She went to another message from her other group mate, Nicola, who linked her with a news article and read:
NICOLA: WTF? Did you sleep with HIM?
The main vocalist touched her phone to see the article redirected to some K-Pop gossip website. Immediately, she felt horrified when reading the title: “Comet Siren’s Heartbreaker: Secret Relationship with Sang of IDOLZ7?”
There was a picture of the main vocalist at the same restaurant where she was yesterday with Cho in the article. Amelia saw a group of seven guys walking up to Cho, who was pulling her out of the street and holding her on the ground. The raven haired man and the rest of his group seemed to be concerned with the situation in the picture. However, it shocked the main vocalist that this same guy was a K-Pop idol! She continued to read the rest of the article where continued to talk about her wild behavior at the restaurant, including a viral video of her ranting about a “breakup” to this Sang person. The article concluded that both of the management from both sides “are looking into the incident”.
“What is there to look into?! I don’t even know this guy?! Well, kinda.. He’s an idol so…. Whatever! I only just drunk ranted to him?! Why people suddenly think I'm dating him?!” Amelia exclaimed, twisting her ends of her hair nervously while reading more comments.
Judging by her limited knowledge of the Korean language and computer translations to English, the comments were more directed towards her and Comet Siren over the IDOLZ7 group and Sang. Comments ranging from “Whore” to “Bitch”, one comment pointed out that “Sang Oppa deserves better than that nugu, anyway! He's an innocent child. Keep him away from this tainted hooker!"
The main vocalist knew the K-Pop fandom was intense, but this was the first time she ever garnered this much hate over a misunderstanding. She felt bad because some of the Comet Siren fans did attack Sang and some IDOLZ7 fans. It was time to close out of the news article since the comments were obviously getting to her. This type of hate was way too much than what the main vocalist was used to. Amelia knew she messed up, and she had to make things right. Soon her phone started ringing, then the main vocalist quickly picked it up to hear the deep tone sound of Comet Siren’s manager. Gulping in silence, she sat there and listened to their manager, scolding her about her behavior.
All Amelia could do was agree. The K-Pop fandom was more scary than she could ever have thought. There was only one thing to do: fix this whole mess, so at least the IDOL7Z’s image would stay intact.
