As enticing as an offer it would be to skip all the small stuff to get to what I really wanted to know; it would be a lot more boring without Akira there. So for me my answer was a no-brainer, "No thank you. I'd rather stay here and learn with the rest of my class."

Principal Nakatashi seemed confused, "But staying in this tier would not help you to gain any information that you don't already seem to know so why stay?" I point to Akira beside me, "I don't want to leave my friend behind. Besides I don't mind I could help the rest of them learn and when I'm not helping I get to have an excuse to study my magic more."

Father laughed for a moment and then he patted me on my head while smiling at me, "Loyalty is a good virtue to have, my boy. I'm glad to see that you are taking after me," he turned his attention to the principal, "Well as I told you, he said no. I told you he would go about it this way because that's what he preferred to do anyway. I told you my boy doesn't believe in shortcuts and would rather do things the right way even if they are longer."

The principal after realizing more about the type of person I was seem to understand why my father thought it was so funny and he himself began laughing and he nodded. "It would seem you are right Lord Kenshi. Very well, I will respect the wishes of the young master and allow him to continue studying with the other students his age," he turned to our teacher and bid her goodbye, "Ms. Fuku allow us to get out of your way so you can get back to work without any further interruptions."

After father and Principal Nakatashi left the room, Ms. Fuku went back to teaching and asked for my help with getting some of the others to understand better what they were being taught. I still did the work with them even though it only took me a minute or two each time because of its simplistic nature simply so I wasn't just seeing helping the teacher or studying to myself. By the end of the school day I was bored, but I was happy that I chose to stick with my friend because I looked at Akira I could tell that he was happy I chose to stick around too.

As we walked home he asked me, "Did it cross your mind to take the principal's offer?" I without hesitation answered honestly, "Nope. Sure going to learn more with some of the older kids would have been nice, but it wouldn't be any fun at all because you wouldn't be there to make me laugh." He smiled, "That's cause you always look so bored when you aren't learning new things."

We both laugh and he gives me a quick hug. I hear him whisper, "Thanks Tatsu." It was nice to have a friend again that I could count on and trust and hearing him say that make me smile. Of course I hugged him back and then we continued our walk back to his place.

Once I made sure he got home safely and nothing happened to him I began walking home myself. I am always cautious and constantly watching myself when I'm walking alone because even though this is a small town and everyone knows me; this country still has some pretty fucking crazy laws and you can never be too careful. Just in case someone gets too handsy because they feel like it I want to be prepared to kick them right in the crotch and set them on fire; because I don't care if it's legal ain't nobody doing any crazy shit to me. However I think my parents as well as those who know what my parents are actually makes a lot of people actively put distance between me and them when it concerns that kind of mindset. I think it's a mixture of them being afraid of what I am and them being afraid of who my parents are.

But just like always I make it home safe and sound and the one I get home I can smell mother cooking roasted zarganth. Zarganths are actually native to the forest to the north of the village. They are like a mixture of turkey, rabbit, and squirrel. Most of their body is shaped like a turkey but their head is very squirrel like in appearance with a turkey beak however their legs are shaped more like that of a rabbit even though they still have taloned feet like a turkey and they run more like how ostriches do because they can only fly at for a couple seconds at a time. However with their powerful legs they can get really high and thanks to their wings they can glide farther than they can fly making it hard to catch them from time to time unless you can get them off guard first or outmatch their speed. Funnily enough it has the texture of eating rabbit, but the taste and flavor of turkey. It also happened to be father's favorite food and mother always prefers to make it with gravy to go with it and seasoned yellow rice.

Entering inside, I put my stuff in my room and then wash my hands before entering the kitchen and saying hello to mother. As I walk in I give her a hug and she hugs me back and pats me on my head before reaching to get the plates for dinner as the food is almost ready. She proudly boasts, "Your father told me about what happened at school today and how proud you made him by showing loyalty to your friend. I was just happy to hear you and little Akira are so close."

"Yeah he is awesome. I don't mind taking my time if it means I can spend more time with my friend," I explained as I helped set the table. The way she smiled at me I knew she was proud of me as well even if she didn't have to say it.

It was still hard getting used to this. I've been in this world the exact same number of years that I was in the last one; technically more for being honest with the difference in how days and years work here. But even with all that time I still haven't gotten used to what it feels like to have parents that care about me. Although I think I'm starting to come around to this feeling I'm being loved and wanted by the people that brought me into this world. My father in my last life left when I was about 5 years old, but as I look at my father in this new life this man would never abandon me like that one did. The only thing that my father and my last life gave me was my name and that was the only good thing he ever gave me. But my new father has given me everything that he can that he thinks I might want or need just so that I can be happy. The same goes for my new mother. She radiates the love that she has for me and for dad. She would go to hell and back if need be for both of us and she'd kick everyone's ass who got in her way. My mom and my last life only knew how to hurt me and make me feel worthless because she didn't believe in love for anything or anyone.... especially me.

But that's not a burden I have to live with anymore because I have the parents I always dreamed of right here. I know that I will love them every day for the rest of my life for being the best parents that they could ever hope to be and doing everything that they could. I'll always love them because I know they'll always love me. I am their son and they are my amazing parents.

A couple months passed by and school is about the same. Although I think with my help some of my classmates are learning the languages a bit faster since I'm able to explain it to them in simple terms when I see they're not understanding it that well. Akira seems to be learning faster than the rest that's most likely cuz he's already my friend and we spend so much time together anyway he's naturally learning things from those experiences as well as from school. The other kids aren't so bad either even though at first I thought that they might be just simple minded children. They all actually seem to be very bright they just don't know how to focus their minds yet because of their ages. I feel that with time as they grow older and focus on things a bit more they'll actually be quite intelligent for simple country folk.

Yorichi has made it very clear that he is a very go with the flow kind of guy but he won't let people push him over ever. Probably cuz he's used to his older siblings trying to push him around and him having to stand up for himself. Gokaze is actually a pretty funny guy and he prefers to make other people laugh and smile whenever he sees that they are feeling sad or lonely. He tries to be everybody's friend and he's already a very good people person for his age as he's able to tell when people are upset and he always seems to figure out how to cheer them up. Lunora is better at things when it involves using her hands and involves problem solving or fixing. Most likely because her parents are the town blacksmith she has some of their natural skill sets that she's developed as a part of her personality and if she grows up to become a blacksmith like them she'll be a damn good one. Her sister on the other hand is a lot more of a thinker and seems to also be be more patient and calm the two not that her sister is feisty and impatient. Milanka just seems to have a more nurturing personality rather than an energetic personality like her sister.

Today though felt like any other day of school. I was helping my classmates get a basic understanding of the alphabet and numbers as Ms. Fuku's helper. None of us expected things to be out of the ordinary until we heard the town alarm bell rang. Right as it started to ring and we all began to wonder what was going on the wall of our classroom seemed to explode. Our teacher was only able to react quick enough to put up a weak force field around us with her magic, but she herself was hit keeping the rubble off of us. She was on the ground barely conscious but awake yet dazed. But before I could move to help her, I heard the sound of nostrils exhaling deeply from a large beast. When I looked to see what had destroyed the wall I slowly watched as an adult Vashran was slowly getting back up to its feet.

A Vashran is a rhino with 3 corkscrew like horns coming from on top of its nostril and instead of the traditional thick hide of a rhino it has a beetle carapace as hard as Damascus steel that is either blue or green. Where the rhino's ears would be would be a beetles horn protruding out of the skull in that spot and curving backwards behind the far back of the skull and just underneath that in the a bit of exposed skin leading down to its neck region would be a partially covered hole where its eardrum canal is. These creatures were very rare in these parts and they tended to be very violent however there was never more than two in an area at a time and they almost never went near towns and villages.

In those seconds I was wondering how it got into town and how it was able to reach the school before it was either put down or stopped. But as it got up to its feet and looked at us and it's anger flared towards us all I could feel in that moment was that this was how I was going to probably die again. As fear gripped me and I started to freeze up in terror, I heard Akira scream followed by the rest of my classmates.

That seemed to awaken something in me in that moment, as the adrenaline flow through my body and I stared at the creature and it stared at us getting ready to charge and trample us or impale us with its horns. I could feel the eyes of The Voice upon me even without it saying anything to remind me of its presence. It was waiting to see what I would do in that moment. I could feel the demons blood and the blood of the dragons flowing through my veins and the hint of something more divine and primal intermingling with it as it seemed to burn with righteous fury and anger. As the creature began to step back before rushing into charge I took in a deep breath as I glared at it with rage of my own taking a stance putting myself between my classmates, my teacher, and the creature. As the creature let out a roar of its own as it began to charge time seemed to slow and the voice spoke, "Defiant of fate you stand ready to fight. Ready to kill. All just to protect those you care for. Well boy......... Show this pathetic oversized bug why it should never pick a fight with a dragon."

As a closed half of the distance between us and it and its charge I let out a roar of my own and as I did a massive blast of fire and light came from my mouth. I could feel the wrath of a star with in my throat being unleashed upon this creature. As I hit it with my breath it immediately flinch to back in pain causing its momentum to be brought to a crawling halt about 10ft away from us as I just kept breathing my destructive breath upon it. Within seconds it's cries of pain were burned away and I did not stop until it had stopped moving. When it finally did stop and I finished my destructive roar the adrenaline in me seemed to slowly relent and in its place came exhaustion.

As I slumped down stumbling back onto what I think was my desk or someone else's and rested my back on it; I looked at the smoldering remains of the creature. I had burned its entire head off and most of its insides all the way out the other side of its underbelly. At that moment the police came in and with them was my father they all were prepared and ready for fight with the creature only to see its corpse. My father seeing the creature was dead and seeing that I looked like I was about to pass out he rushed over to me. As he checked on me to make sure that I wasn't hurt, he noticed my teacher just barely conscious with a noticeable wound on her head that was causing her to bleed that clearly seem to have given her some kind of concussion. As he ordered his men to help her and to see to everyone else he tried to see what was causing me to be exhausted.

As one of the other officers used a healing potion on our teacher to help her, one of the other officers more so asking himself than anyone else wondered as he looked at the corpse of the creature, "Who in the hell actually killed that thing? With a wound like that it looks definitely like magic." Lunora answered him, "It was Tatsu. He made beam of fire come out his mouth."

Hearing that my father looked at her and then he looked at me and he realized what was wrong. I used almost all my mana just trying to kill the thing. He grabbed a mana potion from is bandolier that he had put on for this situation. He forced me to drink it and after I did I started to feel a lot better and more energized. "Chief I know your kid is not normal at all but I don't think he could have actually killed this thing," says one of the other officers.
