It would be easy for Georgia to lie and say she didn't enjoy the attention she was getting. After all, she spent most of her life pretending attention and praise didn’t matter to her. It was always about the art, never her. Any triumphs were from the efforts of the people around her, never Georgia.
In this case, it was true. Finn had the intel. Finn had the ideas. Everyone worked together to rile the people up. But for some reason, Georgia was getting most of the praise. And she didn’t hate it. In fact, it felt good. Like basking in the sun. But just like the sun, there were always clouds to cover its light. Georgia would allow herself to enjoy it for now but try not to hold onto it.
The merriment seemed never ending. There was drinking, dancing, and music. Even some of the demons were secretly joining in on the fun. Georgia’s friends seemed to be having a good time too. Virgil, Old Verge, and Finn were drinking and laughing while Drusilla was dancing in a sea of people. Georgia had a few drinks herself and even played some music for the people. It was all becoming stifling though, so Georgia left the crowd to get some air.
She wasn’t sure how long she was alone before she felt a tap on her shoulder. To her surprise it was Finn. He had with two drinks in hands.
“I was wondering where our heroine had run off to.” He teased as he handed her one.
Georgia rolled her eyes. “Just needed some air. Not quite used the attention.”
“You’re a musician, aren’t you? Isn’t attention part of the territory?”
A bitter laugh escaped her. “I was a concert pianist and an amateur violinist. Hardly a rock star. Besides, you’re the one who had the ideas. I just helped execute.”
“Ha! We never would have gotten a chance to get into those towers if it wasn’t for you. You knew what the equipment was. Don’t sell yourself short.”
“You’re a good hype man.”
“Just being honest.”
The two sat in silence with their drinks for a while before Georgia spoke again. “Wanna go look for this snake while everyone is busy?”
Finn shrugged. “Sure, why not.”
As the pair began to search, Georgia decided to ask Finn how he ended up on this level. After all, he didn’t seem like a lustful person in the time she knew him.
“It’s not that interesting a story. I fell in love with an older woman. Didn’t know she was married at first, but eventually found out. I stopped seeing her for a while but couldn’t help meself. Husband found out and shot me dead.”
“Jesus! That’s awful.”
Finn shrugged. “I did it to meself. Can’t get mad at another man when you’re sleeping with his wife.”
“Are you always this nonchalant?”
“Most of the time.” Finn laughed.
Georgia couldn’t help but laugh too.

The two had been at it for a while with little interruption. From the sounds of it, the party was still raging on, but Georgia was okay with missing it. Finn was good company, and she did have a mission to complete after all.
“Ay, you mind if I stop off for a leak?” Finn asked.
“Yeah sure, go ahead.” Georgia replied.
She wondered off a little further to give him privacy. As she was walking along, she noticed something move out of the corner of her eye. She followed the trail to a rickety house. She turned the corner when a snake dropped down from a beam and scared her. She squealed.
“Damn it, Luci! You scared the shit out of me! Aren’t I supposed to be finding you?”
The snake seemed to smile. “You were taking too long, and we were getting bored. We see you have kept busy though.”
Georgia rubbed the back of her neck sheepishly.
“No need to fret. There are no rules against you trying to make death easier for these souls. But beware, not everyone can be helped and not everything will be easy. You have yet to see the true horrors this place. But I’m sure you’ll rise to the challenge.”
Georgia wasn’t so sure, but her life depended on it.
