Isaac chuckled, amused. “I’m not saying it’s revenge. I prefer to call it ‘karma’ but at the end of the day, karma didn’t make its way by itself. They need a man behind it” his lips curling into a smirk.
Von Rothbart in the original story was an owl. The owl is the symbol of Athena, the goddess of wisdom. Owls have the ability to see in the dark, see the thing that Odette can’t.
People blamed him and labelled him as evil because he’s not the prince, and his love wasn’t valid because the happy ending only belongs to the major characters
But what if he only wanted to save Odette from a broken heart
What if he only wanted to save his loved one from cruel betrayal?
What if his love actually the genuine one?
Isn’t true love belong to those who can let go?
Isaac enters backstage after finishing his scene and meets Jamie's eyes. He smiles slyly as he always pulled out. Isaac who always know what he was thinking “get your revenge darling” whispers near his ear.
Isaac's exit is Jamie’s cue to get onto the stage while Joseph already waiting for his white swan to dance with him. Jamie swallows back his sickness and makes his entrance gracefully.
The scene is one of what the audience has been waiting for, the encounter between the prince and Odette by the lake. The first pas de deux.
This is when everything began.
Jamie spreads his arms as he flaps them gracefully like a pair of wings, his legs in perfect posture, pointed to the ground as he makes a little step to approach the centre when he finally realised the prince was there all the time watching him with an arrow in his hands
At that time, Odette should just leave, running away from danger. Prince’s handsome face or his noble mannerism shouldn’t fool him.
But what a poor naïve swan, he comes closer because he was getting curious, desperately find his true love to break the spell
Joseph slides to the laminate flooring in a hesitant manner as he tries to catch the scared Odette. Jamie straightens one leg as it supports his body, he spins around and makes his leg an axis he’s doing multiple pirouettes as a gesture of running away from the prince.
Not because he’s truly scared of him instead, he just wanted to make the prince curious about him
Jamie backs away, moving into toe shoes that jab into the ground. Joseph begs him not to fly away.
And Jamie shouldn’t have heeded him
Tchaikovsky’s orchestra grows whirring in the atmosphere as put some tension in the scene. Joseph success to catch him and Jamie instantly melts into his touch. He let Joseph guides him in pas de deux; they perform identical steps as Joseph supports every movement he made, he will occasionally hold his hand, lift him by his waist and spin him while Jamie surrenders leaning on him.
In the end, Odette lets go of his fear and give in to feelings of hope and devotion
The scene becomes more emotive and romantic since they put a touch of pantomime in the dance. Two souls that fall in love at the first sight. Jamie catches the faces of the audience before him, they’re staring in mesmerise, some probably being touched by how beautiful the scene is.
Jamie swears he will prove to Brian that he is professional enough to maintain the chemistry despite what happened between him and Joseph
Some audiences straighten their sit position and lean to the front as a sign of interest. They might think they truly love each other, some might have a fantasy of them, being a real couple in real life.
no one realised that the prince actually is a cheater
or Odette is ironically betrayed
