I hopped off my mushroom sofa and headed to my Dad's room, double checking on the way that he was definitely gone from the house. 

No Dad in sight.. I could continue on with the mission.

I carefully tread up the stairs, and walked over to my Dad's room. Surprisingly enough, the door opened without any force needed. 

Odd... but no time to dwell on it, there was probably nothing to it.. probably.

I looked around my Dad's room, checking all the bookshelfs and drawers for so much as a hint as to where Dad had locked away his special book. Not on any of the bookshelfs, not in any of the drawers, not under his neatly tidied bed, not even under his pillow?? 

Where could this stupid book be?!

Not under his desk, not on his desk, not in his safe behind our family photo (to which he stupidly enough had set the password to be '1111').

That only left one place that I could think of, and if entering Dad's room without permission didn't bear so much as a punishment, this place was strictly FORBIDDEN..

Dad's spell casting turret..

I nervously looked over at the worn wooden door, the wood so old it had holes in it where it had withered away.. It's rusty metal doornob snarled at me from across the room, threatening to swallow my hand whole if i dared lay so much as a finger on it..

And the key hole.. except, there was something abnormal about the key hole.. it was bearing the golden key proudly inside it.

Odd. This couldn't be just coincidence could it? 

The shiny gold key beckoned me over to it, just begging to be turned to unlock the door and unveil the secrets behind, of which I had always wanted to know. 

I gulped. 

And then I took a step towards the door.

And another.

And another..

And another, until I was standing right outside the door. 

I gulped again, and checked the time. I was running out of it, fast. If I wanted to get that spell book for long enough to actually cast a spell I had to get it now. It was now or never. 

I twisted the golden handle.
