I ran up the stairs like a wild boar was chasing me, flinging myself around corners, sometimes even skipping whole steps, until I had reached the top. 

It went completely against what I had expected of the place, and not in a good way. Instead of being a wonderous magical room filled with tons of glowing potions made for every occasion, it was a boring old library, with a few sickly green coloured potions and a couple worn old books on the shelfs, and was 'completed' with an old tatty rug. What a load of crap. 

But what met my expectations was the forbidden spell book I had risked so much to steal.. glowing spine, luminescent pages, it was all I had ever dreamed of really. It was beautiful.

I snatched the book from it's podium and ran back down the stairs, flinging myself once again round the turret's corners, until I was back in my Dad's room. I carefully pushed the wooden door with the palm of my hand, and locked it. Then I grabbed Dad's staff, hidden under his bed that I had found earlier, and excited ran into my room. 

This was the moment I was waiting for, I couldn't wait to cast my very first spell.. 

But what spell would I cast! 

I carefully flicked through the various pages of the spell book.. too boring, too simple, too simple, definitely too boring, is this actually even a spell? I flicked the page again. Aha! 

A summoning spell, this had ought to work. I mindfully read the instructions, careful not to skip over any steps. I raised the staff above my head, and traced the symbol 'ø' on the floor, to it surprise it magically glowing a bright teal, like it did on the book's spine. I raised the staff above my head once more and thought of the object I wanted to summon.. a bottle of lavender wine ought to do, we had some downstairs so it'd be easy to replace. Picture in mind, I went to thrust the staff into the middle of the glowing symbol on the floor, but just before I did my clear thoughts was interrupted by another thought..

What if I could summon a creature?  

And with that thought still in mind, I slammed the staff into the middle of the 'ø'.
