“Right, I forgot. Sorry, I shouldn’t,” Lake stumbled, “sorry.”

“He doesn’t have to get mad over it,” Jayden said.

“He’s hurt,” the Omega-Teacher spoke up, “He’s living with Alpha’s that show him no kindness whatsoever. Alpha Angel is not capable of being mad, just puts on a good poker face when faced with something that would hurt him in the end. I think it was a good thing that he was brought here to be away from toxic wolves.”

“Sit down, you fucking Omega,” Jayden growled.

“I see the main cause of Alpha Angel’s wall. Because of you, he feels that he shouldn’t show his emotions to any of you. That he should remain an unreadable mask,” in just two days of knowing me she’s figured out so much about me.

“Sit. Down. Omega,” Jayden growled, I gave a low warning growl in her direction.

“You are threatening My pack,” Knox let me go and got up. He easily picked up Jayden and walked out. Lake sat there for a few moments before sitting close to me, I sat back down seeing that he was not a threat.

“Living with only Alpha’s is tough, I tried making you feel like an Omega but I guess I did it wrong. Can’t believe how stupid I was, you showed us how strong you are and yet I still made you feel weak in the wrong way. Kay is probably ripping Jay a new one about this too. Que, I’m sorry, I’ll try to be better,” Lake made an uncertain sound.

“Fine, I’ll forgive you. But I’m expecting Jay to challenge me and believe me I want to-” I was then wrapped in a hug and soft pats on my head and Lake’s calming scent surrounding me. I’ve trained beside Alpha’s for 3 years and I’ve smelled all kinds of pheromones, so I’m strong enough to resist. I growled softly to state how annoyed I was but allowed myself to feel the calmness he was offering. I can give in at least once, right?

“Better?”

“No. Ever since I arrived here I’ve been wishing more and more that I was born an Alpha. I can’t be a normal Omega, I can’t be a normal Alpha. Where do I belong?”

“You are an Elite Omega, sworn to protect us from darkness and evil. Stronger than any Alpha, caring and more forgiving than any Omega. You make us feel safe and we want nothing more than to protect you too.”

“My test is in a few days, is this really what awaits me? Being stuck as a regular Omega?”

“No, I’m sure there’s something better waiting for you. Alpha Rodger and Alpha Franklin wouldn’t want someone like you wasting away here. I think even Coach would want you teaching his classes, well actually you do help him teach the class.”

“Is that why I don’t get challenged? Because I beat them up during the lessons?”

“Absolutely, no one wants to see you in a serious fight because they know they would lose. You run the Alpha Den, the sole provider and our protector. You take the term ‘My Pack’ to another level, we thought you were only protecting us four but you protect all of the Alpha Den. Even here, wherever you go or stay they are Your Pack.”

“I don’t think I’ve talked this much to any of you, just sort of listened.”

“Well it’s a start for both of us, I’ll be a better Alpha from now on. And you rely on us a bit more, we won’t know what you are going through unless you tell us.” I’ve always wondered if I should put all of my trust in them, I’m still not sure, but then again I haven’t given them much of a chance to prove it.

“Alpha Angel,” Omega-Teacher smiled, “You are the Silver Moon.”

Silver Moon, used for Alpha’s by their Omega’s or Mates. Saying that you are the Moon means that they call for you when they need you and you make them feel at home. It is a very intimate saying between mates.

Golden Sun, used for Omega’s by their Alpha’s or Mates. Saying that you are the Sun means that they rely on your warmth and you make them happy. It is a very intimate saying between mates.

It doesn’t matter how it is said or when, right now the Omega-Teacher sees me as a potential mate and wants me to claim them immediately. I’m not sure and it would be wrong to make her believe that she has a chance.

“Thank you,” I said not missing the disappointed but hopeful look. “My heart chases the prey and hunts alone.” Meaning that my heart is after something else and I will continue to hunt alone until I find it. There are lots of sayings like these but none of them say that I will never take a mate.

“Then I hope you catch me soon,” she said and walked out of the room. What she means is that she will give up her current mate if I ever choose to chase her.

“Not even two days and already you have an older Omega crushing on you,” Lake laughed.

“That’s no crush and you know that.”

“Well at least they won’t wait for you and she will be there when you do decide to take a mate.”

“Just let me focus on my training, I’ll worry about mates in 20 years.”

“What’s wrong with the Omega?” Jayden walked in and sat down.

“She confessed to Que and he turned her down,” Lake filled in.

“Aw, that’s so bittersweet. Knox is calming them down right now, he also told me off. Alpha Angel, sorry about before. You make it easy to forget that you are an Omega and not an Alpha. I’ll check my behaviour as well, just remember to tell me off too if I go too far.”

“Not sure if I forgive you yet,” I said and watched them.

“Understandable, list off everything that I said that made you upset and I’ll give, no make you some pork dumplings.”

“20 Dumplings for each wrong word that you said. Deal?”

“Deal... wait... how many would that be?”

“You can’t take it back,” I smiled then an alarm went off, I growled softly. I stood with the crying Omega’s Jayden and Lake standing at the door waiting for it to open. The Omega-Teacher walked in with the other Omega’s and the Failed and Knox behind them.

“Alpha’s go,” Knox ordered, Jayden, Lake and I started for the door until I was grabbed by the Failed. I growled.

“You are not an Alpha,” Failed growled, if Knox hadn’t grabbed me I would have attacked the Failed right then and there.

“He’s the Alpha of the Alpha Den. I’m saving your life, Failed,” Knox deeply growled and I walked out looking back at the other Omega’s.

“Oliver and Holly are in charge,” I called back before leaving.

“Coach is looking for you, he said to head up top and go Wolf.” Knox filled me in.

“Keep watch over the Omega’s with L and J,” I said and started up.

“I trust you,” Knox called out.

I arrived on top, stripped down quickly and shifted. Padding up to the other Alpha’s that were there and waited for my next orders.

“What’s an Omega doing up here?”

“Don’t Omega’s usually change in the rooms?”

“Omega-Born, it’s dangerous out here go back inside where it’s safe,” the Alpha standing at the head of our little pack said. He was a dusky brown and black wolf with white socks and a white-tipped tail. I stayed and watched him carefully, he’s not an Alpha from the Den that’s for sure. He must be on the patrols and hunting parties.

“I was sent up here,” I was about to speak further until I was interrupted.

“Go back, Omega-Born,” the Alpha growled.

“Good you are all here!” Coach bounded up halting me from attacking.

“An Omega-Born wandered up here,” the Alpha complained but was silenced by a growl and a nip from the Coach.

“Alpha Angel is supposed to be here,” Coach growled and turned to me, “A Rouge Pack made their way to our territory-”

“What’s an Omega-Born going to do? Yip at them?”

“Haha, yeah or wet themselves?”

“Alpha Angel your call,” Coach looked at me.

“Leave them be, continue Coach, what is their objective?”

“We do not know, I hope you will talk to them and find out.”

“Oh yeah, talk?”

“More like seduce them.”

“Have they harmed our food or water supply?”

“No to my knowledge but I will send a patrol out there to make sure. If it is damaged we will go into town for our supplies if we have to.”

“Alright, if their objective is to harm our pack we will fight. Each Alpha here can take on 2 Rouges, how many Rouges are there?”

“We have enough Alpha’s to take them down.”

“Are you sure? Do we have an accurate count?”

“Our Scouts say 5 Rouges.”

“Five? That doesn’t sound right, some must be hiding. Gather more Alpha’s if the Rouges are planning on an ambush. They might have 3 sets of 3 Rouges waiting and our pack of 7 won’t do.”

“Alpha Darius, gather more Alpha’s at least 15,” Coach barked.

“We will have this formation: 1, 2, 3, 5, 5, 5. One and Two will be first for a talk, we want to look like a talk but a fight if we have to. When a fight does break out wait for it to start or wait for Coach’s signal. After that, the rest will come in when they send a new wave of Rouges.”

“This will break their defences thinking that we only brought two extra wolves as back up,” Dusky Alpha said, “And it will look weak because of you?”

“It is most likely that they will think of me as an Offering. An old tradition between packs, giving the other an Omega from the pack so there can be peace between the packs. Two Omega’s must be presented for it to be valid there can be no ‘Showing’. These Rouges won’t know this part, only the first.”

“So what will you do?”

“As Coach says, talk. I will get more information from them because of how weak I look. If it can’t be done then I’ll issue a warning.”

“There will be no second warning,” Coach growled. “When the other Alpha’s arrive fill them in on the plan. Alpha Angel, Alpha Snow let’s discuss the plan again.” Coach lead me and the Dusky Alpha further from the other Alpha’s. “We will be One and Two. Alpha Angel you lead, Alpha Snow and I will follow behind you. They will talk to us first, so assert yourself strongly. Alpha Snow, Alpha Angel is of higher rank than you. He’s the Alpha of the Alpha Den,” Coach said sternly. So Coach set it up so I could be the Alpha. All those Alpha’s he put me up against were the previous Alpha’s of the Alpha Den.

“Alpha Snow, are we ready?” another Alpha barked, Alpha Snow, looked at me for confirmation. I stood and walked back to the gathered Alpha’s.

“Have you been told what's going to happen?” I asked. Alpha Snow and Coach joined with the rest of the Alpha’s. “Our goal is to see if the Rouges are going to be a continued threat or if they are just passing by. If they are a threat then they are messing with the wrong pack, I will not stand for threats against My pack and neither should you. Get into your formations and let's move,” the Alpha’s easily got into a formation and I started moving us out.

The reinforcements held back only letting Alpha Snow, Coach and I show first. Coach and Alpha Snow slowed a few paces to let me truly lead. I smelled them before I saw them and I picked up the pace, they smelled like they’ve been travelling for a while and I can pick up the different pack scents they were in before.

And blood.

“Alpha Snow, Coach.”

“I smell it too, on guard Alpha Angel,” I slowed the pace and saw them gathered. Just as the scouts said 5 of them were there. I rose my head and tail high to show that I’m of higher rank and stepped towards them.

“Greetings Alpha’s, what have you brought for us?” The Rouge leader said keeping their head and tail down respectfully. I folded my ears back briefly in annoyance and righted myself, if I want to be a leader I need to control my emotions better.

“You are trespassing on North Waters,” I said sternly but my words were met with a snort from the Rouge leader.

“It seems the Offering is confused, this is a friendly visit,” the Rouge leader stepped forward.

“Leave now or you will force us to show our fangs.”

“Why don’t we show the little Omega-Born some proper manners on how to please their Alpha,” the Rouge leader opened their jaws and I smelled an overpowering scent. They stopped advancing as if confused. I guess I was supposed to go down? “Who are you? You’re no Omega-Born! What is the meaning of this trick!?”

“You were warned Rouge, state your business,” I growled and took a few steps forward.

“You tricked us, this is no peace offering!” Rouge growled and all of a sudden we were surrounded by rouges.

“I am Elite Omega Angel Justice, you are threatening My pack. Those who threaten My pack will feel my fangs in their throat!” I growled and bared my own fangs at the Rouge leader. He charged at me and I met him pushing him back fully. I guess chest-bumping Knox helped me loads. Had he planned for that?

The Rouge leader rolled back to his paws quickly and I charged at him meeting his claw for fang. A few times I knocked him back and gripped his neck with my fangs and started shaking him to daze him before going for his legs. He kicked me away and we started to circle each other, he looked at my front paw and charged for it. I stood on my hind paws and struck down on his head heavily causing him to trip forward and stumble. He got back up and growled before recklessly charging at me again with no plan of attack.

We meet but my fangs were already at his throat as I threw him down with a force I didn’t know I had and held him there with a paw. I growled raising my head, I could smell his fear and he looked away in defeat. I let him up and he walked a few steps before turning to attack me. I charged at him again and we fought trying to get a hold of each other. I was knocked down but it wasn’t long until two Alpha’s charged to knock the Rouge leader away. I got up quickly and went for the Rouges throat again, I got a good grip and used his weight to swing him half a circle and toss him out of our land.

He rolled, got up and was ready to attack again before stopping. He looked around and I now noticed that he was the only one left. I stepped forward raising my head and growled “Leave.”

The Rouge leader shrank down but started to turn and walk away slowly. I lifted my head and howled, I caught the scent of fear and the sound of running. When I looked down again there was no Rouge leader.

I turned and saw the Alpha’s they were torn and battered as much as I was.

“What do you think Coach? Will they be back?”

“With that performance? Never, most of the rouges ran off when the leader was first knocked down.”

“Yeah the leader was scared shitless when you howled!” another Alpha spoke up.

“I have never seen an Omega-Born fight like that! A true Alpha-Born if I ever saw one.”

“Let’s head back and get patched up, I’m sure the pack would want to know what happened,” I said and started leading the way back. My shoulder stung, my back legs ached and the rest of my body felt like I was still being clawed.

“Elite Omega Angel Justice,” a new wolf walked up to us, “I am Delta Christopher. Your performance was nothing short of extraordinary. I look forward to guiding you.”

“You didn’t tell me you applied for Delta! That’s fantastic,” Coach bumped my shoulder with his head.

“Alpha Rodger and I applied for him,” my dad walked up, “I trust you,” he nodded to Delta Christopher and moved on.

“I await your guidance, Delta Christopher,” I dipped my head to him, when I looked back up he was gone. I started leading the pack back again and watched as they filed in the den, some thanking me or congratulating me for my efforts. Finally, it was just me and dad.

“Son, you are growing to a fine young wolf. I’m proud of you and I trust you,” He touched my head with his nose and went in.
