The Omega Test

Angel's Pack

Angel's Pack

Jan 18, 2022

“At the end of the day there’s more of you than there are of them. Cowards will always shrink at the numbers when its turned against them. Same goes for a strong opponent, if one stands against an army alone. Then the Army behind that One will charge forward without a doubt. That is what a true Alpha is. One against the many, the many behind the one.”

“An Alpha to follow...” Oliver said quietly.

“Stand tall, don’t back down. The moment you show weakness is the moment they will tear you apart. Just remember you have a Pack behind you, nothing can be won alone.”

I trained with the Omega-Born’s for the rest of the class, letting them get rest whenever possible. The Failed never returned after the Beta-Born’s come and gone. The Omega-Born’s were easy to teach the basics although teaching them about how strong they can be was another story.

I hated how that stupid Failed taught these kids that they only had one choice in life. If she ever comes back I’m tearing her apart.

The Omega Instructor would be perfect for this class.

Actually the Omega Instructor seems far to young to be teaching. Most of the Instructors I’ve come across were older. Well, I’m not the one hiring them the Alpha was.

The Omega-Born’s were back to playing their little games, I didn’t mind. Alpha Training wasn’t for everyone and shouldn’t be pushed to others.

‘Why?’ Justice asked, ‘The more Elite Omega’s we have the better our chances of survival.’
‘True,’ I thought, ‘But what’s the point in forcing Omega-Born’s to be strong when it’s a choice? This should be done out of choice not force.’

The Omega-Born’s happily played their Pretend, I had to stop a few of them from ‘Giving Birth’ since these kids were between Nine and Twelve. It really was sickening with how they were taught. I gave them a quick run down on how Alpha’s were taught to be careful of their partners if they were not ready.

Their only goal was to find a worthy Alpha that will take care of them. Alpha’s in the Den were protective of Omega’s and will do everything possible to keep them safe.

I also had to tell them that the word ‘No’ was respected and honored.

“If that Failed ever returns I’m tearing them apart,” I growled and stepped away from the Omega-Born’s so I can calm down a bit before going back to teaching them.

Oliver walked up to me during my decompress and asked something stupid.

“Why should we say ‘No’?” Everything in me told me not to do it but if I don’t get this point across then they will never understand.

“Can I touch you?” I asked already regretting what I’m about to do, Oliver blissfully unaware smiled.

“Yes!” Oliver said eyes sparkling and my heart practically shrunk painfully. I raised my hand and slapped him across the face quickly and hopefully with no strength.

“Do you see why you should say ‘No’?” I asked and kept my hands tightly to me. “You don’t know me that well, other than me doing or saying a few nice things. No one should touch you. No one deserves that unless you trust them comepletely.”

The Omega-Born’s took Oliver away and I remained where I am for a while longer to give them the space that they need. This was all new information, new experience. Hopefully what I’m doing will make them stronger, I’ve noticed that the Failed always threatened the Omega-Born’s with words. Letting them actually experience it might leave the Failed powerless.

I hope.

Oliver walked over to me a little hesitant to get close but I kept perfectly still and waited for him to talk.

“Th-that hurt,” Oliver said shaking and voice tight.

“I’m sorry,” I said. “What I did was wrong and it will never happen again. If I do it again you have authority to remove me from my post. Uh, ask me to leave.”

“I trusted you,” Oliver watched me carefully. The last thing the Omega-Born’s need is for an Alpha to say sorry and immediately touch them.

“Never trust me again after hitting you. Once is enough to tell you that it can and will happen again. No Alpha should be given any more chances after laying a hand on you like that. If an Alpha does that to you call for help, any noise of distress will do. Any and all Alpha’s will immediately run to you and protect you. Those Alpha’s are of Higher Rank and will keep you safe at all costs.”

“Can I trust Alpha’s?”

“That’s for you to decide, if you don’t then that’s that Alpha’s fucking problem. Any Alpha will work hard to earn your trust but if something in you is telling you to get away. Listen to it. That will save you more times than an Alpha will.”

“How long will it take to trust an Alpha?”

“A minute to 80 years, a lot can happen in that amount of time and you have a say in how long it takes. Make the Alpha jump through hoops or teach him how to sit and dangle some meat in front of his nose. Trusting someone should be built. Never bought. But you also shouldn’t put down the Alpha’s efforts, if you do then the Alpha will go to someone who is worth it. That will treat them the way they treat others.”

After that Oliver made sure that I worked to earn the trust back and watched me diligently to make sure that I don’t hurt the other Omega-Born’s. He would even growl at me if I even come close to hurting them.

It was admirable.

Not many would growl at me so softly before and it was such a shock at first since most wolves growls quickly stopped when I looked at them.

Not his.

He never broke eye contact either, it was so cute.

I’m nothing like these Omega-Born’s of course, I’ll have times when I feel weak and want comfort but in the Alpha Den it’s unheard of. Either lick your wounds and move on or act strong until it’s true.

If only I can live like these Omega-Born’s have what they have. A soft, comfortable life with out worry or feel like every corner is haunted with bloodthristy fangs. They are truly lucky.

I’m lucky to learn about these things, I’m lucky to have a choice.

I can’t imagine being raised by a Failed or those Beta-Born’s. Wolves like them hold grudges just because they can’t make it.

“Oliver, ask for a different Instructor- uh Teacher,” I said as the Omega-Born’s were setting up for tea. Seems to be a custom to have Tea Time.

“Mrs. Halloway is the only teach we have. She told us that there are no other teachers besides her.”

“Bullshit,” I growled, “Things are going to have to change so that we don’t suffer anymore.”

“Change? How? Mrs. Halloway is the strongest Alpha in the Pack. There’s no way you can stop her.”

“Her? Strong?” I laughed for a good twenty seconds before calming down, “Oh, little Omega. When the Failed comes back I’ll show you what real strength is. Since this is My Pack now, I need to protect it.”

I’ll do whatever it takes to make her fear me, to make her feel pain, no one touches My Pack.

“Can we train a bit longer before Tea?” I shook my head ‘No’ and Oliver whined.

“Don’t push yourselves too much, just because we can be strong doesn’t mean we should hurt ourselves. I didn’t get this strong over night, it took time. Just do small things and you’ll have no trouble keeping up with the youngest Alpha’s.”

“But shouldn’t we become stronger quickly?” Oliver asked, I like how he’s built up his courage.

“That’s up to you but let me tell you this, Omega-Born’s are small and quick. Use that to your advantage and you’ll always win. Besides Omega-Born’s are already strong you just need to meet the right Alpha’s. When you go out hunting you’ll see what I mean.”

“How do we make those Alph- Beta-Born’s stop?” Now he’s getting it! I couldn’t stop myself, I gently grabbed and pulled Oliver’s shirt towards me and nuzzled the side of his face.

“Let me handle it, after I’m done with them they won’t even think about messing with any of you again.” I wasn’t sure what made him red but I let him go quickly and moved away.
I was stopped from going to far away by Oliver patting my head and his gentle soft words, “Good Alpha.”

“Am I forgiven for the slap?” I asked genlty leaning into his touch.

“No, not quite yet. It was a wake up call but don’t you dare do it again.”

“Understood, I’ll wait for your howl during the hunt,” I’ll wait to be forgiven in the mean time I’ll continue to make up for it. I was then dragged to a table where Tea was served and listened to them talk of their day and how much they enjoyed it. They talked of how they felt about it and I could feel a slight headache starting to make itself known the longer I listened.

The day was nearing it’s end my attention never left the door, no matter how many times the Omega-Born’s tried to distract me.

I was right to watch it, as the Beta-Born’s had returned. Oliver and I growled at their arrival. Since I wasn’t assigned to look after the class I let Oliver take the lead and I’m so proud of him. From a timid little guy to a strong force in the Pack.

“Well looks like Olivia hasn’t had enough yet,” the Beta-Leader taunted. Glancing over to the huddled Omega-Born’s they still stink of Fear. While Oliver handled the Beta-Born’s as best as he could I went to the others and started talking to them. Reminding them of who they are and who they could be.

“Holly,” I whispered to the little one, “Oliver can’t stand alone for long. He needs his Pack behind him and you are part of his Pack. Aren’t you?”

“I can’t,” Holly said voice shaking.

“Yes you can, once you walk up the others will follow. Remember the cowards will shrink at the numbers against them. There’s only 3 of them and 15 of you. If it does come to a fight, you have me. Besides you’re not just in Oliver’s Pack, he is in yours as well. Every Pack Member is like a pup, if I were you I wouldn’t let anyone touch my Pups.”

Holly released a growl I didn’t know he had and walked up next to Oliver and just as I predicted the rest followed with their own growls.

The Beta-Born’s looked scared for a moment but one found me alone and told the other two. Just then the Failed walked in and slammed a ruler on the desk with a growl. The Omega-Born’s quickly ran to the corner of the room and as soon as they were safely away I shifted.

She shifted out of fear at first but then composed her self trying to use her stink to control me.

Oh the growl I used made the Beta-Born’s shake and go to the far away wall from the Omega-Born’s. Failed growled and I met her with my fangs bared, eyes locking to hers in a snarling match as we circled once and she lunged at me.

I pushed her front legs in with my paws and grabbed her scruff as I laid down. She flipped over me easily and I used her fall to pull me up. I placed my paw over her neck and growled in her face. She tried and failed to get up, her legs flailing against my strong hold on her.

I let her up when she showed submission but an alarm went off and we started at each other again. This time, I wasn’t leaving her unscathed. I tore her fur and skin as she tried her best to stop me. Thing about Failed Alpha’s is that they are weak against real Alpha’s that passed all the tests. There was no way that she was winning this fight.

It was her fault for Challenging me in the first place.

She should have listened when I used Knox’s deep and low growls.

She should have realized that I was stronger.

That I was thirsty for blood.

That I was fed up with her rediculous rules.

I was pulled off by stronger arms and was forced into submission. Laying down I watched as a few people carried the Failed away, growling I tried to break free from whoever held me down but it was no use.

I finally stopped when a gentle hand patted my head.
Reminding me of where I was.

Relaxing my body finally I stayed down and something juicy was held to my nose. I grabbed it quickly and started to eat, it was the best rabbit I’ve ever tasted. Sighing, full and content with myself the pressure was lifted off of my neck. I didn’t raise my head since the petting never stopped.

“Would you look at that?” Alpha Rodger smiled seeing the Omega-Born’s starting to grow more confident. “I believe we’ve caused a ripple in the Pack.”

“Those Omega-Born’s...” Alpha Darius watched beside the Alpha's as they gazed at a large monitor in the Alpha Office. “Why were they being taught such things? Why are you showing me this?”

“Well for starters, I want a Strong Pack,” Alpha Rodger said, Beta Franklin growled to himself as he continued to watch. They watched as Angel took charge of the Class the Failed Alpha was teaching. It seems that he’ll need to remove her since the Top Omega-Born didn’t like her one bit. “My Son was right about your’s Alpha Darius. He’s a great change that we need, very fortunate to keep you and your Albino son in the Pack.”

“Thank you for keeping us, what will happen to him now?”

“We can’t send him back to you, not yet. He needs to get stronger and the Elite Alpha’s will be his next step...” A fight broke in the class between the Failed and Angel, he hit the button to let the Elite Alpha’s handle the situation.

“Beta Trish Halloway, deceased,” The Elite Alpha relayed the message from the Delta Medic.

It was settled, the Failed was gone just like that.

“I’ll apply him for the Delta’s...” Alpha Rodger said after a sigh. “Hopefully they’ll curb his need to take any more lives.”

“He must not know of this...” Alpha Darius stared in horror at what his son was capable of. “Don’t let him know...”

“Understood,” Alpha Rodger started writing on a paper to send to Delta Christopher.

“One more thing, let him know a normal life. Don’t keep him in the dark for too long...”

“That will hinder his training but who am I to say No? He’ll go to the school at the age of 14 hopefully by then he’ll be more calmer.”

“He looked at my son first,” somewhere in the Den sat an Alpha looking at a picture of Omega Angel Crowther. “The little Omega-Born must be my son’s Soulmate. They belong together. A Strong Alpha needs a strong mate after all.”

“M-m-m-ma...” she turned and faced her little boy. She motioned for him to come closer and he did, hesiant at first until he was pulled into her lap and cradled.

“Remember my Star you are a Strong Alpha, you need to show everyone how strong you are. Especially your Soulmate, Omega Crowther. Show him the meaning of standing next to you Salem.”

The next day I was back with the Omega Instructor of the young Omega-Born’s, they were more relaxed around me but still scurried when quick movement was detected. The Omega Instuctor was pleased that I haven’t growled at anyone, if not hearing her yell at me was any indication.

Justice and I felt that something big was going to happen soon.

I tried my best to gently play with the Omega-Born’s and if any of them looked uncomfortable with me around I went and sat down at the edge of the fake grass. I was told to come back and refused, I wasn’t confident that I will still be gentle with them after an hour of playing.

Nap time soon came and since I wasn’t tired I stayed up, having been given some paper and a crayon. I started writing what I remember from Alpha Training.

I looked up when I heard footsteps at the door and in comes some Alpha’s. The Omega Instructor smiled at me and went back to her work as if nothing was wrong. A soft growl escaped me but I soon reconized their scent!

I realize that i havent done much with the friends and the Omega-Teacher was too cute to not give them screentime. The phrases were last minute and just made me smile. I loved the new edit much better than the previous one. I hope this never happens again where you cant see the text. I'm sorry for that.
