Will dragged Xavier behind the truck to take cover. I pulled my shadow out of the ground once more and formed a smaller shield around me then began to walk closer.

'ok let's see how many I can do' I thought to myself I stopped walking and knelt to the ground touching my shadow. suddenly around 10 shadows came out other the ground and began to attack the soldiers. at that moment it was almost as if I could see through multiple perspectives like I was the shadows. 

in total there were only about 13 men, so I specifically targeted the ones hire in the chain then went for the ones lower in rank. finally I got them all and wrapped my shadows around them.

"how did you do that?" will asked running over to me "hurry and get something to tie them up I can't hold it like this forever" I said disregarding his question. 'that took a lot more energy then I thought it would. it even raised my heart rate enough to put it in the yellow stage' I thought to my self as I noticed will looking at the watch.

"yeah I'll get some rope" he said running to the back of the truck and grabbing a bunch of rope. after a few minutes all the soldiers were tied up with the role and I was able to release my shadows from them.

"that was something" Xavier said as I stood up. "yeah" I said as I suddenly began to feel dizzy "you good?" he asked giving me a weird look. "yeah I just think I used to much energy" I replied "cousin Mel your bleeding" I heard ava say from right. I looked down to see the bottom half of my shirt covered in blood. "why are you here aunt Laura a few minutes earlier and it could have been dangerous" Xavier said as she walked closer to us. 

"ava can you do me a favor and ho get Mr. mark for me?' I asked kneeling to her level "yeah" she said excitedly and ran off as I stood back up. "I'm sorry she just ran out of the truck when she saw you tie the guys up" aunt Laura said. "are you ok Mel that's a lot of blood" she said with a concerned look.

"I'll be fine" I said as I noticed ava running back with Mark "not if you keep standing hurry and sit down" mark said and I sat on the ground. "ok ready he said" and I nodded. he took a deep breath and put his hands above my wound. then his hands began to glow.

after a moment he stopped "that's all I can manage for now" he said catching his breath "thank you I'm sure the used a lot of energy" I said as he helped me up.

"Aunt Laura can you do me a favor and do a head count on everyone please" I said and she nodded. I then walked over to Will and Xavier who were standing by the tied up soldiers. "so what's our plan?" will asked as I stood next to him looking at the soldiers.

I then walked over to the one who seemed to be in charge "talk" I said kneeling down to his eye level "our order are to make sure no one knows our orders and that's all your getting" he said with a straight face. "wanna bet" I said with a smile then stood up. "this isn't the same world it used to be, meaning in order to survive we have to do what we have to do" I said pulling a knife out of my pocket.

"now it may not look like I can do a whole lot with a knife and although I don't intend to kill I can bring a lot more more things and bring a lot more pain that will make it difficult to survive" I said playing around with the knife a little. "you think of you hurt me I'll talk. your crazy" he replied "no" I said with a slight smile "but maybe if I hurt them you will" I said pointing the knife at the other soldiers, and his eyes went wide.

"hey Will who do you think I should start with?" I asked turning to him "maybe the one with the dark brown hair over there" he said catching on.

"ok" I said walking to a young soldier not much older then me who was still tied up. "now what should I cut off first" I said just loud enough for his Superior to hear. 

"how about we start with the pinky finger" I said aloud and the soldiers pupils became small. I lifted his tied up hands and pulled out the pinky "p-please don't do this" he begged "blame your Superior" I said as I put the knife to his pinky and began to slowly cut the knife into it. "STOP!" his Superior yelled "I'll talk" he said his voice filled with disappointment.

"aren't you lucky" I said quietly as I turned and walked back to the man "start talking" I said kneeling down to his level once more. "our orders were to block off the people and keep them from leaving the infected towns and cities until we could find the person who we think might be able to find a cure or at the very least something to keep more people from becoming infected" he said looking down ashamed.

"and do you by chance know who your higher ups are looking for?" I asked. he stayed silent "if you don't tell me I'll cut off every one of your subordinates fingers then feed them to the hundreds of zombies back in that town" I said angrily. "that's a little" will said before I interrupted "Will you know I'll do it" I said giving him the look to shut up.

"their looking for the heir of Galaxy Techs CEO Amelia Wayne" he said and my eyes went wide in shock.
