Down Here in Raleigh

Chapter 1

“Theo! Are you up yet?” Mom shouts.

“I’m up, I’m up!”, I yell back. 

This is a Very nice way to start my morning. I love you mother but for once can I sleep in? Not today apparently, I start getting ready and shuffle over to my closet. I decided on a white button down shirt with a maroon sweater to go on top. I walk over to my dresser and get out a pair of light brown pants. I get dressed and start heading down the stairs to the kitchen. 

“He lives!” My brother says as I appear into the kitchen.

“You are absolutely hilarious”, I say with a sarcastic voice. 

If he’s gonna be like this today he can walk his ass to school. 

“Oh boys, quit that and eat, you’ll be late”, Mom says, shaking her head.

I grab some milk out of the fridge and some cereal out of the pantry. I go through my phone notifications as I eat my cereal. Hmm K texted me I wonder what that is about. 

Hey bitch you’re taking me to school, no fussing. 

Sent at 7:00am

Isn’t that Cam’s job?

Sent at 7:05am

I said no fussing, get over it and take me!

Fine but you own me.

Great, now I’m babysitting. Listen K may be 18 but she asks like a teenage brat. I finish up my cereal and fill my bowl with water. I grab my backpack beside the door, open the door, and start heading for my car.

“Yo take me to school!” Ethan shouts at me. 

“K is riding with me”, I say back.

“Oh then fuck that shit. I’m going to walk, see you when I get there.” He said annoyed. 

I get into the car, turn the key, put my car into gear and begin driving to K’s house.
