"The wedding is amazing," Sarah says. "I'm so happy for you! Awww, everything is so wonderful here!"
Billy and her younger sister are standing on the veranda looking at the multi-colored lanterns that decorate the trees in the garden, the white tables with snacks and sweets, and people dancing to slow music.
"What are you going to name your daughter?"
"Ah?" mutters Sarah, fluttering her eyelashes. "Oh shootttt, I'll kill Mike! Bills, I really don't want to do everything about me today... It's your special day."
"Don't harm your poor bog creature. You shouldn't tear your child away from her father," snorts Billy. "Don't worry about me, the day is almost over." Billy wraps herself in Grandma's shawl. Despite the fact that the end of April turned out to be very warm, it was a little chilly in the evening. She inhales with pleasure the smell of fried meat, coals, spring soil, and night. Lev is grilling meat, and his daughter and Grandmother are playing with the cat nearby. She has seen this cat somewhere before.
"Who else knows?" Sarah puffs out her cheeks like a hamster.
"Let me seee: you, obviously your Mike, me, and all the shifters and werewolves that came to the wedding," Billy can't help but laugh.
"What?" whispers Sarah.
"Pregnancy has already affected your brain. Sis, they are shifters, they smelled that you are pregnant as soon as the wind brought them your scent. Have you completely forgotten who your relatives and friends are?"
Sarah blushes and smiles.
"This day is not about me. I'm glad you invited parents. Dad cried when you said 'I do'."
"Pffft, he must have been bitten by a mosquito, he's so sensitive!"
"Thank you for giving them a chance, especially for giving dad a chance to bond with you again."
"I don't care, as you wish." Billy puts her arm around Sarah.
They both stand watching how Mike and Nina are dancing together. They do it so clumsily that two sisters look at them with their mouths open:
"I bet a twenty that Mike is about to step on her dress and trip over," Billy smirks.
"I'd give him a twenty myself if he will not fall on poor Nina."
"Sarah, everything will be great," the older sister says in an unexpectedly serious voice.
"I feel it too," Sarah replies. "I may not be a witch, but I know it."
"You will always be the strongest of us, Sarah."
"Only when you're with me."
"We will always be with you and baby Brunhilde..."
"Whaaa hahaha! I'd never call my daughter this way," laughs Sarah, touching her flat tummy.
"Uwww, not nonbinary enough?"
Sarah bugs out on her, "Look! Poor dad doesn't even know he's dancing with the werwolf right now. He seems to like it, they talk so sweetly to each other. I don't think anyone should tell him who his dancing partner is. Just what we need: a bunch of evil bats around if he gets sad," giggles Sarah.
"We'll never get tired of this joke. I won't say that he's surrounded by witches and other nonhumans; but the fact that he's dancing with a man is something I should tell him personally right now, hehehe." Billy resolutely descends from the porch and walks towards the dancing couples.
"Bills, maybe you shouldn't do this?" her sister says with concern in her voice.
She needn't worry, as Billy is already heading someone else. Her wife in a long white dress is waiting for her. The young witch knows now how to explain Nina what beauty is.
"Hi, Mrs. Nina Greenwald. How about you run away with me from everyone to finally have our first wedding night?"
