“Hey, isn’t that kinda dangerous? I mean, if humans aren’t safe here and all, I don’t want to be locked away for the rest of my life or anything..” I quickly asked, feeling a bit panicky about the potential risk that Emery was about to take. 

“No, you’re right, humans aren’t safe here, but this friend of mine is very interested in humans, you’ll be safe around him..” Emery said, then paused for a minute. “Actually, I believe he has taken an interest in you already! Funny huh? You’ve only been here for like one whole day and a half as well! Gosh they are sneak-“ Emery started adding, but never got to finish as both our attention was put on the noise of branches belonging to the tree we were sat under. 

Silence. 

…

Then a cracking noise..

…

Leaves rustling…

…

“BOO!” Shouted the thing, as it popped up, upside down, hanging with it’s legs around the tree branch above. “Haha! I gave you both a good scare didn’t I?!” 

It laughed shrilly, in a voice so soft it could sooth all ear aches with just one word uttered from the depths of the creature. 

“And this..”, sighed Emery, only just recovering from the frightful scare, “this is the friend I was on about..” He pointed above to the creature, who was now grinning ear to ear. 

“Thats right! I’m the magestical, the wonderful, totally awesome creature himself, in all his glory, Tobi” Tobi introduced, finishing off with a graceful backflip onto the ground. 

“Who might you be to accompany my friend like you do… hmm, are you guys dating?” He questioned in a tone at which it was hard to tell if he was being sarcastic or genuine. 

“N-no! It’s not like that at al-“ 

“I’m Set-“ 

“CHILL! Chill, I was only pulling a leg you guys, gosh u are such mood killers. And anyways, I know who you are, Seth. I’ve been up in this tree for quite a while now, waiting for the right time to interupt..” 

“Tobi, how are the centaurs doing!?” Emery butted in, clearly quite flustered, but not enough for me to assume that this wasn’t a regular occurrence for him.

“The centaurs? They’re just finee, as good and as smart as ever those things are.. I’m starting to think they never age at all, just gain knowledge every birthday they come across…” Tobi ranted on. He was quite a talker, and whilst he was taking, I noticed the points to his ears, and the handmade bow and arrows strung across his back. 

“If you don’t mind me asking.. what exactly are you Tobi..?” I asked as politely as possible, still managing to sound awkward despite my best efforts not to. 

“There was no need to be so shy about it mate, I’m a very friendly person, I don’t judge! Haha! Oh and, I’m an elf, pleasure to meet your acquaintance, human” He responded, in an ever joyous mood. Was this guy ever anything BUT happy? 

“Yeah, pleasure to meet yours.. too..”, I muttered.  

“Well anyways fellows! You needed my help, and so I have arrived, not a second too late! So, what was it you needed me for?” 

“You know this place better than anybody, Tobi, we require directions, somebody to help us on our path to returning Seth back to his rightful home..” Emery stated, with a tint of desperation in his voice. 

“Righty-ho! Let’s get off then fellows! Come with me!” And he sped off into the enchanted forest, without a seconds delay, leaving us trailing behind him, not having the energy to bound around as he could.
