Asher smirked at the shocked faces. Of course, they would have never
thought someone would disturb their cruelness in the middle of the
forest.
“Ok. Now, let them go.” Asher pointed to the kids and women with his other hand.
They
looked at him as if a demon appeared in front of him. He would have
laughed wholeheartedly at their expression if he hadn’t seen those
children in pain. It caused his heart to bleed. The assholes slowly
backed away.
It might look cool, like in movies. Someone
appeared, and the bad guys backed down from the look of the savior. But
it’s not true. Asher knew something was up. No way in hell those guys
equipped to bend hell get frightened of him.
He was just a lone
stranger with an ordinary pistol. He alerted his senses. The people who
were on the ground were also equally shocked.
But Asher saw
something else in their eyes. Hope. He lifted his eyebrows at the
assholes. He saw something moving behind him. He sharpened his ears. The
sound didn’t come from people on the ground. It came from the trees. He
kept his eyes on the ground while listening keenly.
The sound
was approaching him. He wanted to shoot, but what if it was another
child like the one he saved before? He kept his face calm.
Before
he realized it, two figures landed in front of him. Their backs faced
him. He studied them. It was two big men. They weren't covered in blood.
Maybe they just came here to rescue.
Maybe the child was running
for them. They were definitely not the bad guys. They were similar to
the people who were lying on the ground.
Their face brightened at the sight of the men. The men turned to look at him.
He mouthed, “Hi”.
They
looked alike. Probably twins. Or at least brothers. Their sharp eyes
studied Asher. They looked at each other and looked back at the
bastards.
The assholes who were shocked by him lost their fear in front of the new fighters.
They
ran towards the twins. The twins didn't back down. One big man cracked
their necks while the other growled loudly. They ran towards the
assholes. They started attacking the big boys. They jumped into
formations and surrounded the twins. They were trained well for this.
No movement.
No breathing.
Asher blinked.
When he closed his eyes, no one was moving. When he opened his eyes, the hell broke loose.
The
twins were throwing punches and kicking. The baddies were equally
fighting them. It was clear that the twins were outnumbered. But the
twins refused to slow down.
One twin lifted a man and threw him away. The man who got thrown screamed in pain because he got thrown on the Cactuses.
He
couldn’t move anywhere. He was trapped inside. His screams echoed
throughout the whole place. A man who tried to attack the assholes with a
knife chuckled.
He lifted his head from the ground to see the
sight of his enemy screaming. He looked at Asher. He fell back. He
couldn't hold himself up even for a few minutes. He closed his eyes and
drew a heavy breath. He never inhaled again.
Asher felt it.
That
man was happy. His lips held a soft smile. The woman next to him
whimpered. The baby whom he saved moved next to him and poked his cheek.
The
assholes backed down again. They moved backward. Few of them went to
help the one screaming. Few ran away. Few took something from their
pocket.
The moment they took something, the women covered their
children with their bodies. Someone picked the poking child and hid him
too.
The assholes threw the balls at the twins. It blasted on
them. They were bleeding, but nothing showed on their face. But from the
look of the wound, Asher knew it was bad.
They tried to throw another set. But Asher had enough.
Asher shot the one who was leading them. The assholes looked in his direction. He shrugged.
The
group, which ran away, came back. They had weird guns with them. They
pointed at the twins. The twins growled. It looked more animalistic than
human. But extremely familiar.
Asher looked at the women with kids and waited for them to look at him.
He mouthed, “Cover”.
They nodded and tried to move. But a small child ran as soon as he mouthed. A woman moved to catch him but failed.
It
caught the attention of bastards with guns. One of them shot at the
child. The gun sent a bullet. The bullet powdered when it touched the
skin. It sprinkled all over the body. The child got covered in that
powder.
The child screamed and fell. Asher took a step forward.
He saw the child twisting in extreme pain. It was worse than the balls.
The dust turned into blood faster than blinking. He never saw something
like that. It must be some weird science experiment or shit.
Asher
felt rage he never felt before. He moved towards the bastards. They
were scared like shit. They moved backward as he approached. But one was
brave enough to aim his gun at him. He hit the trigger.
Asher
was ready for that. But the bullets never touched him. Somehow, a woman
managed to get before him and took it. She got covered in that sparkling
powder. It penetrated her skin, and she bleeds. He tried to catch her,
but she moved from him to save him from pain. She bit her lips hard from
pain.
Asher combed his hair with his finger and felt his skin burn in guilt.
“Why?” Asher muttered.
But his eyes were on the one who shot him. He walked faster, aiming his gun at the asshole.
“No, stop. Or you will get hurt.” One of the twins commanded.
His
voice was sweet as honey and ironic with his figure. But Asher never
bothered to look at him. The child whom he saved moved away from the
tree and ran towards him.
“Ethan. No. Ethan. No.” The kid was screaming.
“Stop running, kid. You are hurt.” Asher didn’t turn, but he ordered.
The asshole loaded the gun with extreme speed and shot at him. The bullet came towards Asher.
