The next couple of days went faster than expected. As usual Grace and I would do a daily parade around other students to keep up our appearance as a 'happy couple'. Myles and I spent majority of our time hanging out and doing, well, anything. With Myles and Grace in mind I decided that I would sit with Grace and her 'friends' at breakfast and for dinner I would sit with Myles. I cleared it with Myles, and he told me to always sit with Grace. I purposely chose to sit with Myles at dinner because I doubt, I will have many breakfasts while I'm here, I sleep late and doubt I will get up for breakfast let alone classes.
It was the day before classes started for the new school year. Surprisingly, I woke up earlier than expected, I couldn't go back to sleep so I texted Myles, he was always awake early. It was just before 8 and Myles responded at once.
Myles: Mornin', are you ok? your never up early.
Luke: Yes, I'm ok, wyd?
Myles: I'm on my balcony, watering my plants, you?
I shot up from my bed fumbling to kick my blankets off my feet. Sliding my balcony door open and peering out to see Myles with a small watering can giving water to his little violet flowers.
"Wanna go for a run?" I said scaring Myles who splashed water on his shirt from the fright. I held up a sorry hand, but he gave me a smile and nodded.
"Meet you out front in five?" He asked with an expression that almost make me wanna cry from how cute he was. I gave him a thumbs up and slid back inside to throw on a hoodie, sweats, cap, socks and sneakers and made my way outside my room to no one’s surprise Myles standing in front of his door, flashing me a smile as I locked mine. His curly hair was gently held under a beanie, a pair of glasses sat on his nose. Also dressed in a pair of sweats he wore a long-sleeved shirt with a band logo on the front and a pair of sneakers. He tucked his phone into his hoodie pocket and made his way to me with a little spring in his step.
"Why you look so happy?" I asked with a quirked brow. we made our way out of the boy’s dorm block and out to the path that led to the main building on the school grounds. Before Myles could say anything, an ear-piercing scream came from behind us. I didn't even see her.
"LUKE!" The voice was all too familiar, Grace. She bounced forwards her long hair bouncing with her. Myles stood up straighter and stared at her worriedly, almost scared of her. I stayed facing the other way. she jumped onto my back and wrapped her legs around my torso. Myles knows what a fake she is, I told him everything, he's the only person apart from me in this whole school who knows what a bitch she actually is.
"Babe! look at me! I've been so lonely, why have you been hanging out with... him and not me! I'm more important than him!" She screeched in my ear not letting go of the grip she had around my neck and waist. I grab her legs and signal Myles to follow me, I lead them to the side of the building. I dump Grace on her ass, and she yelled out in pain.
"You’re lucky I'm nice and didn't just dump you on the concrete, what the fuck do you want? Money? I got none, so you'll have to go ask my dear old daddykins for some." Graces face was the perfect reaction, she was dumbfounded. I hadn't told her that Myles knows because she'd probably flip earlier. Her eyes were glued to Myles as she stood and dusted off her skirt.
"S-sweetie I-I truly don't know w-what you mean... I-" As funny as it was, I had to save her the embarrassment. Myles face also made the situation a bit better actually, he was still in shock but also looked like he was trying not to laugh, he had his hand over his mouth and kept stealing glances at me when he knew he was gonna laugh from looking at Grace.
"He knows, I told him." I simply told her, and if the situation wasn't bad enough, she had the audacity to scoff and start giving Myles that judgmental look she gives someone who she despises without even knowing them.
"W-WHAT! OF ALL PEOPLE YOU TOLD HIM?! AND I THOUGHT YOU COULDN'T GET DUMBER! WE CAN'T TRUST HIM! WE-" She was yelling at me and getting up in my face in what seemed like an attempt to degrade me. Spoiler it didn't.
"We? I trust him more than I trust you, he's a nicer and better person than you, he actually cares about me unlike you. Who in the fucking hell do you think you are to try and talk shit about him? Go ahead and insult everyone in this school but not him, don't be a bitch and just leave." I fought back. Myles was still standing with his hand over his mouth but replaced his look with a slight blush and a small caring smile.
"How dare you! You think its ok to-" Grace started to argue her point but I was sick of hearing her voice, so I grabbed Myles by the hand and walked back to the path.
"We still gotta run to do, right?" I ask him with a smile. He smiled back and we both broke into a run leaving Grace cussing at us from behind.
This boy is amazing.
