I woke up next to him in his bed. It must still be early in the morning, the sun is shining and the birds are chirping. I laid there for a while since I didn’t want to wake him.
I blushed suddenly remembering last night. I can’t believe we did that… I mean it’s Lucian, who wouldn’t be shocked. I heard a groan from behind me.
“You’re up already?” Lucian spoke in a groggy voice. “You should’ve woke me up.”
“Sorry haha, I just thought some extra sleep might be good.” And especially now because we’re in college.
“Mmh, well thank you for being considerate,” he stretched his body.
“Yeah haha,” I gotta bring it up now. “So about last night…”
“Ah yeah, that was really good.”
“Well… thank you,” I was a bit taken aback. “But what does this mean for us?”
“Whatever you want it to mean, as long as we’re not dating.” Guess he’s not that into dating.
“Well…” I thought about it. I mean it was good, I really liked it, “do you wanna be something like friends with benefits?” We’re not quite friends, but it’s all I can think of.
“Sure, I’m down for that. I was thinking the same thing.”
I sighed a bit in relief. It would’ve been so awkward if he had said no.
“You can shower while I make some breakfast, you know where the bathroom is.” He stopped for a second, “your clothes are in the dryer, I’ll get them.”
Oh dang… he washed my clothes for me, and he’s even making breakfast. I feel kinda bad…
“Here,” he handed me my clothes.
“Seriously, thank you” I admitted.
“My pleasure,” he remarked as he turned away.

After my shower, and with some clean clothes on my back, I felt amazingly refreshed. Almost like how it feels to get a massage. And when I opened the door, all I smelled was bacon, eggs, and toast.
“Hey, foods almost done. Take a seat, I’ll serve you” Lucian offered generously.
“Thank you,” I didn’t feel like arguing because I’ll eventually give in anyway.
“Let’s watch some TV while the food finishes,” he said while walking to the remote, clicking on the TV.
There was a flash across the screen and loud music following it.
“Another body was found,” the man in a navy suit reported. “It’s such a tragedy… the man was only in his 20s.”
“It truly is,” his partner, a women in a baby pink dress added. “No suspects have yet to be found, as it is currently undergoing investigation.”
“Suspect will be brought in soon for questioning” the man remarked. “This time it was by the apartment complex Sugar Berry, residents should be careful.” He continued on but I wasn’t listening. I live at Sugar Berry…
“I-“ I began breaking down, “that’s where I live…”
Lucian looked at me with surprise in his eyes and said, “wanna stay here for a while? Or at least until you’ve found somewhere else.”
“If it’s ok…” I was desperate. I didn’t want to go back there.
“Of course it’s ok,” he reassured me. “We can go together after breakfast and get your stuff. It’s a scary situation, and I don’t mind.”
My class starts at 2:30… I’ll just call off for today.
“Ok, I really appreciate it.” I truly do appreciate all that he’s done… and maybe his smile has no bad intentions at all… I must have been losing my mind.
“Foods done, eat what you can.” He passed me a plate with everything he made on it.
“Looks good, good looking,” I jokingly said.
