Andrew continued running. A normal 3-year-old would never be able to run away from such a fearsome beast, but Andrew was no ordinary child. He knew that if he continuously used air magic, he would run out of mana before he was able to lose the beast, so he leapt agilely from tree to tree, only using magic whenever the best was closing in. That way, he was able to keep a good distance away from the beast while still using a modest amount of mana, and he was also able to slowly expand the distance. It was definitely dangerous for him, but he kept a cool head because he knew that he had it in the bag.

That was until he suddenly heard screaming.

Andrew didn't know who it was, but he instinctively followed the scream. While his head was screaming at him, telling him to just continue running for his life, his curiosity got the better of him as he started running towards the scream.

As he swiftly jumped from tree to tree, he was able to see a large group of people in the woods. Some of them wore normal clothing, but he was able to spot three people with pointy ears wearing white robes with some green stripes.

"Protect her!" one of the people with pointy ears yelled.

"Get the elves!" a man wearing normal clothing shouted.

Elves? Andrew thought, So these must be the legendary elven people who reside in the jungle.

The two sides started clashing. The elves were powerful, able to conjure massive spells to fight against the humans, but they were severely outnumbered. One of the elves was stabbed in his back by a human and fell to the ground. The other elves were infuriated - Andrew was able to see a raging fury burning inside of them as gigantic chunks of rocks started flying at the humans, taking most of them out.

However, conjuring large spells required time, and the humans knew it. When the elves were using magic, they used that opportunity to move closer to them, swiftly taking another elf out. The last elf, seemingly the leader of the trio, was courageous and battled with the humans instead of escaping. However, one elf couldn't battle five humans no matter their prowess, so the leader elf was stabbed multiple times by the humans, but not after heroically conjuring a massive wind cannon and killing two more humans.

"Get their bodies," one of the humans said, "They're gonna be worth a hell lot," he laughed.

Suddenly, Andrew could hear a familiar roar.

It was the beast that was after him.

Surprised, Andrew instinctively conjured a wind wall in front of him right before he realized that the beast wasn't going for him. After the battle, there was blood everywhere - and like any wild beast, it was attracted to the smell. The three remaining humans were terrified, but not for long - the large beast leapt at them, swiftly taking one of them out. The remaining two drew their swords in terror as they tried slashing and hacking at the beast, but it was all in vain. The beast, while injured, was still more than capable to kill the humans as it roared victoriously.

Andrew was horrified. He had just witnessed the fearsome beast take out three men in a heartbeat, and even though some of its wounds were quite deep, it was something that the beast couldn't heal up after a few days.

All of a sudden, Andrew heard that voice again. The scream. But it wasn't a scream - it was a sob. Whoever that voice belonged to, they were in despair. Andrew wanted to run away, but he saw the beast slowly approaching the elven carriage.

He started sweating.

The beast knew that its prey was trapped inside the carriage. They couldn't do anything - they couldn't fight and they couldn't escape. The beast decided to be playful, toying its prey. Then it suddenly took a bite out of the carriage, tearing open the fabric, revealing a young girl inside.

The girl was probably only a year older than Andrew or two. She lay in the carriage, terrified of the beast in front of her, entirely speechless.

Andrew gritted his teeth anxiously. He couldn't just leave the girl alone for her to die, but he wasn't powerful enough to take down the beast.

But he wasn't thinking.

Adrenaline pumped through his veins as Andrew leapt at the beast, having already conjured a fireball in his hand as he shot it point-blank at the beast's head. The beast took a step back, crying furiously at Andrew as it attempted to bite him only moments after Andrew was able to dash out of the way.

Andrew calmed down. He was able to see that the beast was most severely injured in the chest area. He didn't think for one second. He just closed his eyes and jumped forward.

"A risky game you play, brother," the voice started ringing in his head...
