Never Granted (ORIGINAL)

Ch 2 Revenge.

Ch 2 Revenge.

Jan 24, 2022

Farith’s POV:

“FUCK!” I yelled as I made my way down the mountain clutching my nose.
Why could I never beat him? My father was the chief of the village. I’m the strongest out of everyone. So why did I feel so inferior to that brat? He is even the son of an angel. I thought to myself as I walked back home.

My father just got back from a meeting when I was sitting with an ice pack over the bridge of my nose. “What happened Fatrith?” My father snapped at me.

“That damn bastard broke my nose.” My voice sounded funny because of my lack of breathing through my nose.

“Was it those damn Akuma’s again?” he asked.

“Yeah, the son Orion punched me for no reason.” I lied.

“Ooh I’m gonna kill them.” He snapped. “This is the last time my son comes home with a broken nose or bone.”

“Ooh we should.” I egged him on.

“Farith follow me, we are going underground for a bit.” He said, leaving the room.
I reluctantly followed him as he left.

***

We were walking for quite some time before we made it to a cave. It was a distance away from the village, there were torches along the wall of the cave that dimly lit the entrance. “What is this place?” I asked.

“This is the Lionels sacred ground.” He answered as he went into the cave.

It was dark and, in the distance, there was an ominous purple glow. Drawn to it I started to walk towards it. I got to the ominous glow, and it was a knife with weird Nordic runes scribed on the blade and the hilt. The knife was a long sacrificial looking dagger that was black and the runes glowing purple.

“Grab it Farith, then sacrifice some blood to it.” He instructed.

I was already reaching for it, I grabbed the hilt and slit the palm of my hand. A warm feeling came from my hand and was absorbed into the dagger. The runes started to glow brighter, and I started to feel stronger, my nose started to heal too. Craving more power, I stabbed the middle of my hand, but nothing happened. I started to laugh. “Hehe. This will be enough to put that bastard in the grave.”

“let’s go.” My father sounded from behind me. “Be careful with that power. Instead of mana it drains your life force.”

I smiled at the fact that I could finally beat that bastard. I didn’t hear what my father said but I didn’t care I was stronger. I wanted to take my revenge at that second, but I thought of something even better. I laughed to myself before I headed in the direction of the mountain that Karma was on.

I got to where Orion and his little sister were training. Orion layed up against the tree passed out and Shiro was focusing on something, but I couldn’t tell what. That’s when it hit, she was trying to use mana. I don’t feel any mana from her. HA that bitch can’t use mana.

I walked up behind her and hit her in the back of the neck knocking her out. It was really tempting to kill that bastard in his sleep, but I wanted to see the look on his face when he sees his family dead in the fire. The walk down the mountain was nice, I couldn’t help but feel giddy at my revenge.

***

I got down the mountain and started my plan. My father gave me an artifact that can trap someone in a certain area, and they couldn't get out. I set it on the Akuma house and lit it ablaze. The fire wasn’t normal fire it was a bright purple just like the runes on the dagger so even if they were immune, they would still burn.

It was nice hearing the panic yells. At this point we gained an audience. “Farith that’s too fa--” someone said but I interrupted them by launching the shadow flames through their chest.

This sent everyone in a frenzy. I sent a few fire balls into the crown killing some of them. I felt like a god my power transcending the normal mortal plane of existence. Looking over the crowd of the dead bodies there were some that were alive but most of them were dead. “Listen up, mere mortals I am the new god of this place so you will obey me and do as I say.” I announced.

I tossed the unconscious Shiro into the crowd and everyone's eyes widened. “Farith she was just a little girl how could you.” Someone came up to her.

“Oh you dimwit she’s just unconscious, I need her alive for my plan,” I snapped.

***

After waiting a few hours, I could finally see explosions near the middle of the mountain. Those beautiful crimson flames exploded every few minutes. Jerrod shouldn’t be able to beat him. My father had some business with their father, so he took him away. Their mother was probably dead from burning. Finally, I could see that bastards face when he gets here.

Staring down at the villagers, I watched as they coward in fear beneath me. It was clear to me and them that their life's were in my hands. They knew I could kill them whenever I wanted.

I was invincible, with never-ending mana, flames that could even burn demons, this dagger that enhanced all my physical capabilities.

I had it all.

I couldn’t lose. It was inevitable that I would be this strong, ever since I was a child, I was the best out of all the children and even some adults. Ever since that bastard suddenly appeared I was in the shadows, no one cared for me they all feared Orion but not me, but now I can finally leave his shadow. I finally transcended beyond all mortal capabilities.

So, why am I feeling this way. This ice claw gripping at my innards, slowly twisting, slowly freezing my insides, I got when we locked eyes as he got to the bottom of the path. “Welcome to the show Orion.” I laughed. “Your just in time for the best part.”

He didn’t respond, he slowly approached me. With each step he took it felt like the gravity seemed to push down even harder than before. He walked at a slowly suspenseful pace. I couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of him trying to act cool.

I don't know if my eyes we're decieving me or not but there was a shadowy figure clinging onto Orion's shadow piercing red eyes that stared holes through me, made me shiver as I avoided eye contact.

Even the way he walked towards each step never faltered or swayed, the ground burned into molten rock with each step, everything in a 10 meter around him burst into pitch black flames that seemed to absorbed more light than produce it.

I couldn’t tell what sort of expression he had because the way his bangs fell over his eye. "You fucked up now. You see this I did this all the villagers that were highly regarded in magic are lying dead at my feet.” I took a few steps toward someone I actually considered my rival. As much as I hate it what was giving me this feeling of uneasiness wasn’t that thing but; Orion.

Unaffected by my taunts he casually towards me.

As he got closer it dawned on me that he wasn’t even looking at me. His focus fixated on his little sister. My feet stayed glued to the floor, as he walked past me and towards his little sister. To have the audacity to walk past me when I can crush him like a bug; he should be begging for his life not treating me like a bug. “You missed it, she was crying for you on the way down the mountain, I had to knock her out a few times to shut her up.” I taunted.

No reaction.

“At first she put on a strong act, it was hilarious watching her try to fight even though she cant use mana.” I laughed.

He closed his hand into a fist.

“I was gonna play with her a bit more, but the idea struck me to beat her senseless in front of you when I break your legs.” I taunted.

My face twitched with rage as Orion still chose to ignore me as he wordlessly clung to his little sister. “YOU DARE IGNORE ME ORION AKUMA.” My yell echoed through out the mountains.

“You still think you are better than me even now? Why don’t you go easy on me now? Then I can break every single bone in your body. You can watch helplessly as I defile your little sister while you can't do a single----” the words stayed in my throat as the ground around Orion crumpled underneath him like a piece of paper. It made me stumble a bit making me lose my balance.

I regained my balance and when I turned to face Orion, he was finally looking at me. He gently put down his little sister. All of a sudden that same sensation hit me but 10 times worse than before. The frigid grasp of a dragon gripping at my insides, I couldn’t breathe it felt as if all the air in my lungs was forcefully pushed out.

I looked down at my hands to avoid eye contact from that monster my hands were shaking, no my whole body was shaking just from the amount of pressure he was emitting. Why was I feeling this way from a boy younger than me? It should be impossible for him to be stronger than me, yet was was this sense of ----
He turned and faced towards me.

I would never have thought that something as eye contact could be so terrifying, when his pale blue eyes, sharp as the dagger in my hand stared into my eyes all the remaining air in my lungs disappeared.

“Farith.” Orion's voice was so calm yet filled with so much authority it made me think of my father, no the amount of authority in his voice would be enough to put him on his knees. “I thought of you as a mere bug that was unnecessary to kill.” His voice made me freeze in place. “But your constant buzzing is making me re-think my actions."

His cold, emotionless eyes stared holes through me, the tangible blood lust that he had was greater than my fathers. What was this pressure and how does he possess it?

He was comapring me to a bug. No he really thought of me as a bug. Any sort of response I thought of got caught in my throat.

It wasn’t supposed to be like this, he was supposed to be on his knees begging for his and his sisters life. I was Farith Lionel, son of the chief, a demon with fire and lightning magic. So why was I so frightened? My power nearly tripled compared to what it originally was. So why, why? A Mere half demon that's younger than me be so terrifying?

With each step Orion took the ground seemed to melt under his feet leaving a path of molten pools of rock as he approached me. Tearing my gaze away from Orion my focused snapped to his little sister in case I can use her for something, but she was too far away, I threw a flaming ball at her, but Orion grabbed it mid air like it was a ball.

My mind went into a desperate search for what to do. What came to mind was I needed to run. But I would rather die than admit the fact that I was afraid of that bastard.
