Dad pointed at me “put that burger down we do not want you to become fat when you go off to marry”. After I put the burger down Tyler comes downstairs with the biggest grin on his face, He had sat down next to me and whispered, 

 “meet me in my room”. My dad had looked at us and said nothing. I know he wanted me to tell him, but I wasn’t going to, and he can't beat me for it because if there's at least one mark or scratch on me I cannot be fit to marry. I had run upstairs and washed up then I had grabbed myself a blanket and a pillow and went off to Tyler room.  I sat and waited for him to enter.  

When he finally came in, I looked at him gleefully.  

“Hello, Tyler, you wanted to speak to me”? “Yes, I did” he said walking back and forth he looked at me then shook his head and kept on walking. Then he opened the door, looked left then right and he calmed down and sat in front of me. 

“Ok I plan on running away from here in a few more months”. 

I laughed at him after calmed down. I looked at him to see that he wasn't laughing with me. 

 “You're serious about this”?  

“Yes, I am serious Alex, I can't take this hell house any more”! 

“I have money, clothes and food, all the essentials”. I grabbed his hands and looked him in the eye. I knew what he was going to ask me.  

“Yes, I will come with you Tyler, but I want to bring Two more people with me”.  

“First off, I wasn't asking you to come with me, it's too dangerous”. 

I backed up and put my hands on my chest looking baffled, “then what do you want with me”?!  

“NO, NO”! 

 “It's not like that Alex I just don't want you to get hurt and I can't do anything about it and theirs monsters out there who would love to kidnap a molly like you”. "Ok" I said, 

 “You are trying to protect me from the monsters out there when there is one in our home”, ‘I understand a lot. I hollered, 

 “Quiet down Alex before dad hears you”.   

“You can come but you must listen to me and do what I say keen”? said Tyler  

“Yes, I understand perfectly.  

“So, who did you want to bring? Tyler I wanted to bring Emma and Tod” I said, “Why do you want to bring them because they look like sunshine every day”? 

 “You're a dumb ass you don't see though marks on Emma or Tod they just smile so nothing will happen to their mom it's their stepdad that is constantly beating them and their worthless mother is doing nothing about it”. Tyler looked at me with understanding in his eyes and said they could come. 

                         Emma  POV

“Tod are you ready to run?” Emma said 

 “I don't want to run anymore I don't want you to get hurt Emma” said Tod 

Emma put her hands on her hips and pointed at Tod “I don't want you to get hurt either and I promised dad I would take care of you and mom I already broke one promise I'm not about to break another”. Keen? Yes, I understand, said Tod. “Keen?”  

“Yes, I understand” said Tod  

Emma opened the door and dashed in, their stepdad Martin popped around the corner and the belt went swinging. Tod then ducked under Emma before Martin could swing again. 

Emma ran into the room, her arm bleeding.
