I Met You Before...

Chapter 7

Chapter 7

Feb 01, 2022

The next day, I woke up early. It was 6:12 in the morning, and Robyn said that the camp will meet at 9 am. I got out of bed to get changed. My uniform was a pair of long brown khaki shorts, a black undershirt, and a short-sleeved brown jacket. For some reason, it had a bright red tie. Cas had the same uniform, I guess they assumed all gender non-confirming kids was masculine. I shook it off and got changed.

I walked back and to a still sleeping Casey. It was weird. Normally, they woke up before me. I walked over to my charged bracelet. Casey and I had matching bracelets. We normal conversed with them. We learned morse code to use them. One short touch sends a short flash of the purple light, a long touch sends a long flash. Cas gave it to me as a gift. I remember us joking about marrying each other when we grew up. But, now things are different.

Maybe, it wasn't a joke. Well, at least to me. Do they feel the same way about me? Why do I think so much? Should ask them? Maybe I should not? I'm not right for them. No. I know I'm not right for them.

The sound of movement behind snapped me out of my thoughts. "Jayden, what are you doing up this early?" Casey asked, in a raspy voice. "I-I-I d-d-don't k-k-know," I stuttered. Dang, I hate myself. "Nice stutter, dumbass," they rasped. "Nice glasses. Harry Potter called. He wants his glasses back," I said. "Fuck you, I wear contacts now," they said. "You love me," I said. "You make it hard to," Casey said. "Actually, can you wear your glasses one day? I think you like cute with them," I asked. I almost immediately regretted speaking.

"Ok, weirdo. One day I will," they said, yawning. They got up and got changed. They laid down and stared straight up. I walked over and planked over them. "What the hell are you doing?" they said. "Making you mad," I said. "Okay, you aren't Jayden. You are?" Casey asked. "Kace," I said. "Damn, did I talk to Jayden before I changed?" they asked. "Yeah, and yesterday. I'm here for today," I said. "You know the plan, then," they said. "Yeah, don't speak in front of the others. I know, I know," I said, rolling my eyes. "That's correct," they said. They grabbed my arm and tried to pull me off. "I don't think so, cutie," I chuckled. They grabbed my hips, pulling me down. "Confident, much?" Casey said. "Horny, much?" I said, closer to their ear. "Fuck," they groaned.

"But, giving to you is too easy," I muttered in their ear. I pulled away and getting off the bed. "You are more of an ass than Jayden," they said. "That's my job, cutie," I said, grabbing the bed above. "Knocky knock knock," we heard Robyn sing before letting herself in. "What?" Casey said. "Making sure you two are up," she responded. "Duh," they said.

At 8 a.m., we left our cabin to get breakfast. Casey was still pretty mad about the 'turning them on' thing. We sat a table away from the others. Jazmin, Julia, and Grace came and sat with us. Casey sat next to me, bad idea. Grace and Robyn had pop tarts. Jax was scribbling in his notebook, eating toast. Casey was downing milk. Jazmin was eating an apple. I was playing around with Casey. Julia was drawing something. Ash was forced to eat a pop tart by Robyn. "Jayden wasn't like that yesterday," Grace said. Julia's head shot up. She looked at Grace before looking at me and looking back down at the picture. "Well, this isn't Jay. He's autistic and has DID, plus PTSD," Robyn said. "This is Kace, the one messing with Casey," Jax said, never looking up. "Correct... how do you know that?" Robyn said. "His brother told me. I lived next to him for years," Jax said. "Oh okay," Robyn said, fight Ash to finish the pop tart.

"Kace, stop it," they said, trying to push me off. I shook my head no. They squirmed in protest, but nothing break them from the hug. They stop moving eventually, letting me win. "Cas, are you okay?" Robyn asked. "No, Kace has made frustrated two different ways. And it's only 8 in the morning," Casey said. "Two ways? Oh, you mean... oh," Robyn said. "Can it," Casey said, finishing the rest of their milk.

Ash crossed their arms, frowning. "Babe, you have to eat," Robyn said, petting their arm. I think Robyn mention something about Ashfur having an eating disorder when they first started dating. Robyn, being the mom that she is, forces them to eat. "Julia, you should eat something. It's good for you to eat breakfast," she said. "I don't like to eat when I'm stressed," Julia responded. She was so focused on her drawing, she hadn't looked up again, yet. I ate a granola bar before we got to the cafeteria.

"So, how big was he, Cas?" Robyn asked, with a smirk. Casey choked on their second glass of milk and started coughing. Julia's head shot up and her eyes widened. Jazmin held back laughter. "Julia, what does she mean?" Grace asked. "I-I-I do-n't know," Julia said. "Robyn shut it. You don't need to know," Casey said. "I want to know," Robyn said. "Yeah, tell us," Jazmin said. "Can you all cut it out?!" I shouted out.

Eight teenagers go to the same camp, with different backgrounds, different friend groups. They lived pretty normal lives, well as they seem normal to them. They want to go to this summer camp to learn, do team-building activities, and make new friends. Normal summer camp things. Well, one teenager isn't new to this camp. Actually, this teenager grew up there. That one teenager has a mission, kill those with abilities. Kill those with powers.

The other seven teenagers were new to the "camp activities". Six of these seven have seen each other before but have zero memories of each other. Those six have three things in common: dreams, marks, and powers. Three were already friends and grew up together, two were friends from their parents and possibly dating. The six-person was dating one of the three childhood friends.

Can you piece this all together? Can you find the Impostor among the teenagers? If you do and feel confident in your answers. Write them in the first chapter comments and read to find out if you are right.
