There was a tiny bit of a problem.

It's been a hard few days. After all the things that have been revealed to Ian one after the other, it was a miracle he didn't get a massive headache or ended up sick.

Ironically though, Chenyi was the one who got sick in the end. (And Ian inwardly scoffed at that.)

Despite said sickness though, he still insists that he should go to work. Ian was quick to shut that thought down immediately.

"We’re finishing up a big project—"

"For the last time, no. You're not going, no matter what excuse you're telling me." Ian crossed his arms and stared at his husband defiantly.

Chenyi seemed to groan under his breath before squirming slightly under the blanket on top of him.

Ian sighed and settled down beside him where he had perched as soon as he found out his husband was sick.

"Stop squirming please, the towel will fall off..." he muttered before reaching up to readjust the towel's position on Chenyi's forehead.

"Look, I know work's really important for you. But you have to take care of yourself too. If not for your sake, then Wenduo's. Or even mine." Ian muttered worriedly, cupping Chenyi's cheek.

It was moments like these that made Chenyi think about how he's so lucky to have Ian.

And honestly it makes him feel bad because he never knew the previous Ian.

And he wants to be kind and say that he would've cared for Ian as much as Xie Yan if he ever got the chance to get to know him more... Tried harder to get to know him more. (God knows Ian needed more kindness and care in his life.)

But he really can't say it. He honestly doesn't know if he ever would've cared for Ian like he does for Xie Yan.

He hopes— wherever Ian is— that he's happy. Finally happy.

A small poke on his cheek snapped him out of his thoughts, "Daddy, you aren't listening!" Wenduo pouted slightly with a small huff.

Apparently the little bun entered the room a few seconds ago and was in the middle of telling him about a show he recently watched with his Mommy.

"Sorry Duo'er, wasn't paying much attention." Chenyi admitted sheepishly.

Ian patted Wenduo's head gently, "Your dad's sick, dear. Forgive him for not paying attention okay?"

Wenduo nodded, "Okay, I will. Anyways, what happened was—" and he continued on with his tale.

Ian stood up and left the father and son in the room before grabbing his phone to make a call.

"Hey! Chenyi's little husband! What can I do for you?"

"Hello Ethan, the current big project that Chenyi has is the one with your company, correct?"

"That's right little Ian!"

"Do you think you can handle keeping everything up and running for a few days? Chenyi fell sick this morning and I don't want him to go to work with this high of a fever."

"No problem little Ian. Anything for my best man's husband."

"Thank you so much Ethan! I owe you."

"Don't sweat it, Ian. It really isn't a bother. I have to go now though. I have a meeting in about a minute. I'll visit you and Chenyi later, alright?"

"Yes of course, come by whenever you're free Ethan."

"Thank you! Goodbye!"

"Good bye."

Once Ethan hung up, Ian sighed in relief.

Then he made his way to the kitchen to make some soup.

While in the midst of stirring the pot, an idea came to him.

He paused for just a second, letting the thought settle in his head and formulating all the possible things that may or may not happen if he goes with it.

Well, his major in college was Business.
