Unfortunately for them, they don’t get to see each other for the next two months. William is unusually busy back at headquarters because Callum decided to restructure the company. It means he doesn’t have time to make his usual business trips that tend to come once a month or so. 

He’s disappointed that he doesn’t get to see John. But John is equally disappointed as he is understanding. They agree there will be time to meet again later. John still sends him daily pictures of his bunnies and Will tries to call John whenever he can. It’s not as often as he wants. William powers through the restructuring process just so he can go back to flying around with John again. And work, of course.

William wonders if he should have cut himself some slack. He’s been a little fatigued and nauseous lately. But he’s not in the habit of regretting his past actions. Instead, he bounces a little less energetically onto the plane and tries to take a much-needed nap in his seat until John comes out for his break again. He would use the bedroom, but William doesn’t want to accidentally miss John’s break. Knowing John, he would absolutely choose to let Will rest and not wake him up.

Lily has to wake him up from his nap. She does so with a look of concern that William just waves away. It turns out that John has is out for his break and William is going to miss it if he doesn’t wake up. 

He smiles ruefully at her. “Thanks, Lily.” She rolls her eyes but goes back to her laptop. William hurriedly removes his seatbelt so he can go and talk to John.

John opens the lavatory doors just as William stops right in front. He lights up at seeing John in his pristine, pilot uniform. John cuts a very sexy figure. 

“John!” he cries. And jumps right into John’s arms. Strong arms come around him in a hug. William smiles, breathing in John’s sandalwood scent. “I missed you,” he mumbles into John’s shirt.

Between them, John’s chest rumbles with his reply. “I missed you too.”

William pulls back to looks at John’s face. He smiles. John smiles back. It is a small, tiny uptick at the corners of his mouth and warmth in his golden eyes. William sees it and he basks in that warmth. “John,” he says helplessly enthralled.

“Will,” John returns. “May I exit the lavatory?” 

William laughs sheepishly and steps back to let John out. There in the corridor, John pulls him in again, this time to kiss him. William licks into his mouth and John nibbles gently at his bottom lip. 

Their foreheads are pressed together, and William breathes the air that John breathes. They have barely spoken this time and still, it is better than every other time John had taken his break. 

John looks like he wants to say something, but William stops him. “One second,” he chokes out and pushes past John into the lavatory.

He dry heaves into the toilet bowl. John worriedly helps him hold back his fringe. William tries to reassure John with a smile. But he’s distracted by another bout of vomit. 

It’s really not a lot of vomit since William hasn’t had time to eat before the flight. And it’s not the first time he’s had to puke in the last week or so. Whatever this bug is, it’s not that recent. John rubs warm palms down his back.

He stops puking eventually. John settles him back into his seat and hands him a bottle of water to drink. 

“I’m fine, John,” he says. “Probably just ate something bad earlier.”

But Lily has come over and she rats him out. “Don’t lie, William. You’ve been like this for a week at least. Have you been to the Doctor’s appointment I booked for you?”

John looks at him expectantly. He winces. He has not gone to the doctor. In fact, he had skipped the appointment in favour of rushing through work so he could push forward the flight. 

“I’ve booked you another appointment for when we get back,” Lily informs him ruthlessly.

William starts to complain. But one look from John stops his whining. 

“Will, please go to the appointment,” John tells him sincerely. He makes William look into his worried eyes. William can’t find it in himself to deny John anything. 

He nods reluctantly. “Fine,” William mutters. Johnathan kisses his forehead sweetly. 

Sadly, John has to get back to work after that, so William doesn’t even get to cuddle him. That would definitely make him feel better than seeing a doctor, he thinks.
