(A/N: Above is a reference of Georgia's aunt. This chapter will explain why she's so young lol.)
Georgia groaned as she slapped her alarm clock off her nightstand. She sat up, ruffling her golden hair. She frowned as she looked to her desk, where her unfinished astrology homework sat. Last night was horrid.
The ginger occupied most of her mind. She hated it.
"Georgia! Are you up?" Her aunt knocked on the door. "Georgia, can you hear me?"
Georgia huffed and stormed to the door, swinging it open. Her fiery brown eyes staring at the brunette. "I'm up, Jay."
She smiled. "That's Aunt Jay, to you, niece." She stuck out her tongue and turned to the stairwell. "My college class is early this morning, so I'm leaving!" She waved. "Make sure you get to class on time, okay?"
Georgia rolled her eyes and shut her door, grateful her aunt was a college student. She scrunched her nose as she thought about how weird it sounded. A high schooler's aunt was a college student?
She'd had friends ask her about it before, and each time she told them the same story.
Georgia's mom was seventeen when she had her. Her sister, Georgia's aunt, was only ten when her sister ran away from home after giving birth to Georgia. Naturally, Georgia fell into her grandmother's custody, but when she passed from breast cancer when Jay was twenty two, the court ruled Jay capable enough to handle a twelve year old.
Now, five years later, Georgia was seventeen, and Jay was twenty seven, attending her last semesters in college. Jay was in an intern program, hence her job at the office.
They were aged more like sisters than aunt and niece, but that fact alone didn't necessarily guarantee closeness. In fact, it was always kind of awkward between Georgia and Jay.
Georgia never knew exactly why, though.
She didn't try to think about it as she pulled up to the school. In her head at the moment was the ginger. She went to this school, but how come Georgia had never seen her? No matter how big the school, she always noted familiar faces in the hall.
Georgia made sure to pay extra attention to the people passing with yellow lanyards. All of the seniors wore a bright yellow lanyard, signaling their last year in hell. Each grade had a different color assigned to them, but the same obnoxious logo printed on the lanyards.
Freshmen had purple, sophomores had blue, juniors were green, and seniors sported yellow.
By the end of the school day, Georgia had exhausted her eyeballs and amount of care. She sat in her car, resting her forehead on the steering wheel as Annabelle chatted on about some random girl.
"You going today? Theo's going to be there, you know? Maybe you can score a night with her?" Someone piped from across the parking lot, catching Georgia's interest.
A boy elbowed the other. "Dude, shut the hell up. Admin might still be around. They'd shut down the ring fast as hell if they found out." He smiled. "Plus, Theo's one of them dykes. She's dating that Yana chick, last time I checked anyway."
The second boy shook his head. "They broke up Friday. It was a huge deal apparently, Yana even slapped Theo. Theo got her ass handed to her that night, too. I don't know how she's got the energy to try again." He paused. "Anyways, I heard a rumor that she's bi or whatever, she'll fuck anything that moves."
"Maybe she'll let us both go at it." He finished.
Georgia flinched when Annabelle spoke. "What a couple of asses. I hope the end up swallowing a dick or something."
Georgia smiled at her friend. She was nearly as vulgar as the ginger. "I'm going to the ring." She smiled, cranking her keys. "Ask your little social circle about it, will you? Can you text me the details?"
Annabelle shot her a look. "I mean, I'm sure I can ask around... but why do you want to go? It's just a bunch of brutes going at one another."
Georgia smiled. "Exactly."
Annabelle pulled a face, pulling out her phone. "Whatever! It just doesn't seem like your kind of thing. Don't blame me when the cops pull up or some shit."
"I won't, I won't!"
----------
Just like Friday night, Georgia willed herself to pull into the driveway of a random kid's house. Again, teens were stumbling around, but this time, it was mostly half naked jocks and their embarrassed girlfriends.
She buttoned up her coat and jumped out of her car, locking the doors. She only had one mission. The ginger. Perhaps it was out of pity that she came to the ring tonight. Maybe it just bothered her to know someone was self destructing, and at the hands of others nonetheless.
Her steps fastened as she made her way to the backyard that was filled with screaming, drunk teens. She pinched her nose closed and held her breath as she passed a girl doused in cigarette smoke.
Georgia hated the smell of cigarettes more than the smell of alcohol. She never figured how someone could breathe that in and not want to puke.
She slowed at the edge of the ring, scanning the competitors. None of them were her. She waited patiently, and pulled her hoodie over her head, burying her chin behind her zipper. She watched three matches pass and she wondered if she had missed her.
"Theo's next, isn't she?" Someone jeered, elbowing Georgia.
Georgia turned to the stranger. "I don't know, is she?" She asked, bluntly.
The boy stared wide-eyed, as if he had been slapped in the face. He stared at her, breathless.
"That was a legitimate question." She stated, realizing it probably came off as sarcasm.
He blinked, clearing his throat. "Oh, uh." He looked away, nervous to meet her gaze. "Yeah. Yeah, Theo's up next."
Georgia smiled. "Good. I thought I missed her."
"Are you her girlfriend or something?" He asked, a look of curiosity painted on his face.
"Nope." She popped the 'p' sound as she rocked on the balls of her feet. "I'm just worried about her."
Georgia paid the awkwardness no mind as she turned to the ring, awaiting the moment the ginger stepped out onto the sand. Everybody turned on their phone flashlights and faced them around the ring, illuminating the pit.
"Up next is Theo versus Anna!" The announcer waited with a smile as the crowd roared. Once they all quieted down, he continued. "That's right! We finally have another female in the ring!" He clapped. "Let's watch them go at it! Make sure to place your bets!"
Georgia watched as everyone flooded to a pot that sat on a foldable table. Everyone contributed different kinds of bills and coins, and once everyone had placed their bets, the circle formed again and people hollered for the match to begin.
Immediately, Theo rushed the blue haired girl, swinging at her face. Anna dodged, moving swiftly to the side, and then kicking Theo's feet from under her. The ginger yelped as she hit the ground, but rolled out of the way as Anna attempted to jump on her.
Once Anna was the one on the ground, Theo took the chance to pin her down, forcing her face in the sand. She held the girl's arm in the air, pushing it further into her back, bending it in ways the human arm wasn't supposed to bend.
Georgia flinched when she heard a bone snap, causing a roar from the crowd. She watched as a few people buried their head in shame, complaining about their money going to some bitch.
They must have bet on Anna.
"Look!" Someone hollered, pointing at the ring.
Anna was up, and throwing punches with her one arm. A few of them actually hit, and caused Theo to sway. It didn't take long for Theo to swing once more, punching Anna square in the jaw, causing Anna to fall unconscious to the ground.
Theo staggered her way out of the ring, rushing to collect her money from the bets. She hurried to the table, stuffing the money in her backpack and slinging it over her shoulder.
Georgia stood behind her, waiting for her to finish.
"Blondie..." Theo mumbled, looking at Georgia through her messed hair and swollen eye. "What do you want?" She asked, defensive.
Georgia smiled. "I just want to take you home."
Theo glared at her, unmoving.
Georgia offered a hand, her smile widening. "Please, Theodora?"
