Unfortunately for you, that was not where my happy ending came. That was the moment when I realized that a certain powerful being besides Lord Hastur did indeed exist. Standing right before my eyes was a familiar snake lady and her four followers, but what I didn’t expect was the person standing in the black cloak. “Well hello there Miss Sakura. Or should I say Miss Desaulniers? Puhahaha,” Yidhra laughed, without an ounce of joy in it. “W-what is he doing here?!” I shouted, pointing at the cloaked man. He chuckled, releasing the hoodie and letting it fall to reveal himself a little more. “Shouldn’t you be asking yourself why I haven’t died?”
I glared at Lucky Guy, trying to disguise my fear with hatred, which, to be honest, wasn’t that hard. “Let him go. What did he ever do to you?” I spat, unintentionally inching closer to my lover. Yidhra chuckled, taking a while before answering, “He did exactly what you all did. Be ignorant. Unnoticing my presence. Turning away when I was near. All I wanted was to have just an ounce of attention. Do you know how painful it is to be sitting there in pain when all the maintenance fixes happen? When you are forgotten by one, the rest will slowly do the same.”
Yidhra turned around, pointing a finger at Lucky. “But he was the only one who acknowledged my existence. He was slowly dying, forgotten as well. He offered his help to me when nobody else would. So then I wondered, ‘How would everyone feel to be forgotten as well, the pain of not ever being upgraded?’ And I had a solution. WIth the help of Lucky’s power, we can make everyone forgotten. And who better to test it on when it’s ready other than the most popular hunter?” Yidhra turned towards Joseph, exchanging glares with him. “I decided to think farther. What if we could make the entire world forget everything, from their most loved ones down to their names.”
While Yidhra was speaking, I decided to take my opportunity. I interrupted her by shadow dashing forward, tackling into her and knocking her over. “NOW!” I shouted, signaling the others to fight. They all went over to knock down the followers while I ran over to Joseph, seeing the dull look in him. I turned around quickly seeing that Yidhra had recovered, and just as I was going to go tackle her down again, a tiny postman appeared out of nowhere, pulling her hair with a tiny jump and knocking her off balance. I didn’t even have time to question that moment as I turned back around to untie Joseph, when suddenly I was pulled back by a rough hand. I struggled to get out of their grasp, but stopped at a cold sweat when I felt a cool strip of metal resting against my collar bone.
“Nobody move!!” Lucky shouted from behind me, his hand on my arm tightening. Everyone stopped moving immediately, including Yidhra and her followers. I could see the shock and fear in the survivors' faces, seeing mostly just confusion in Yidhra. “W-what are you doing? Are you freezing me with your powers?!” Yidhra shouted at Lucky, a swirl of emotions running through her eyes. Lucky laughed, before confessing, “Did you really think that a powerful being like me would need a puny snake like you? Open your eyes! I was just using you all along! Now that my power has almost completely returned, I don't need your pitiful snake behind anymore!” Lucky then proceeded to use his arm to blast a gust of wind at Yidhra, causing her to fall and hit her head on the ground. I noticed that Lucky no longer had a grasp on me, and I made a run for it, ducking down and away from his arms.
I quickly untied Joseph, wincing when I pricked my finger and started bleeding. I pulled him up, catching him when his wobbly knees didn’t give him the support to stand. I turned around, glaring at Lucky, who stood in the middle of a circle of all of us. Helena Adams, Eli Clark, Aesop Carl, Murro, Joseph Desaulniers, and I, Michiko Sakura, together had the strength to take down Lucky Guy. There was a moment of silence, and for a moment, I thought that Lucky maybe had accepted his defeat. But at that moment, a sudden rumble went through the cave, and a bolt of lightning crashed down, striking Lucky and creating a hole above us all. The force of the electricity crashing down pushed us all back, blinding us temporarily (except for Helena of course).
When the light was gone, we looked at where Lucky once stood, gasping at what we saw. Standing before us was no longer Lucky. What stood there was a man floating an inch off the ground, with glowing white eyes and hair. He laughed, a menacing, cold hearted laugh. “You fools! You thought you were winning? My power has just returned! And now you will all forget everything!” his voice boomed, echoing throughout the cave. “I am no longer Lucky Guy! I am: Ț̸̨̨̛̛̛̱̠͔̜̱͈̪̩͇̫͚̺̝̺͉̱͉̬̦̈͒̉́́́̒͂̅̆̐͋̃̑h̵͇̬̙̃͗̆̍͗̃͂̃̎̂͑̓͛̂͐͜͝͠͠ę̸̡̫̘̘̖̜͔̤̘̣̮͎̼̖̺̯̇̋̇͑̈́̅͂͊̅͗̄͑͘͠͠͝ ̴̤͐̔̃̍͘͘K̵̨̭͓̝͙̘̬̦̮͉̣̹̭͓̱̯̰̜̜̝̀̀̊̊̐͌̎̽̽̇̋̉̌̔̎̓͘͠͠͝ͅͅͅi̴̛̭̜̻̻̼͌̽͊͛̔̌̐́͂̾̓́̀̕͘ņ̷̨̖̻̻̭̺͘ͅͅg̷̨̛͕̲̗̬̳̝̪̮̪̫̺̿̎̌̉͊̇̋̔̇͂͑̓͆̾̀̾̒̿͒̓͑ͅ!̴̨̧̢̡̧̳͚͕͚̹͓̜͇̺͎̫̗̳̱̤̜͔̞̈́͊͋͛̈́̐̆̿̔͌͆̽͛̍̈̊͜!!”
