You can have it all

if you're willing to try

to be someone you're not

give in to society's call

turn over a new leaf

become that which you hate

consumed with self loathing

like waves battering a reef

ever-conscious of your grief

just deny yourself everything

then you will see

how quickly doors will open

when you're left with nothing

Whatever happen to "march/walk to the beat of a different drummer?" It feels most people are resigned to "whatever". Hopefully there are still some who "dare to.." forge their own path, despite criticism and/or rebuke, that takes courage! I admire them.
