I wake up and force myself to take in my surroundings before I open my eyes. I hear shuffling and murmuring of hushed voices. I am laying on my back and I am wrapped in a blanket. I try to move my legs and realize they are bound together; same for my arms and wings. I can hear the pitter-patter of rain, but don't feel it so I know I'm inside. Suddenly, I hear footsteps getting louder and louder. Then they stop.
"Wake up." a voice says as I am being shaken. I open my eyes to find a pair of yellow ones staring back at me. I open my mouth to talk but no words come out.
"Don't waste your time," the yellow-eyed person says to me. There is only one kind of avian I know that has that color of yellow eyes. I look and see two long, stark white braids and my theory is confirmed. Oh crap. They're a snowy owl. My heart sinks.
"We had to drug you in order to snap your wing back into place and splint it." Damn. I didn't even notice. "The medicine has some side effects that will leave you without the use of your vocal cords for a few hours." I try to speak again but only air comes out. The snowy owl is still staring at me intently.
"I am Vanessa White, but you can call me ma'am or Ms. White." She turns around and I nearly pass out again. On her back are two stumps of white feathers where her wings should have been.
The second chapter is up! This is honestly one of my favorite chapters because I love Ms. White so much. Hope you enjoy it. (Also, I'm always up for feedback so let me know what you think in the comments. Thank you!!)

An avian falls from his nest in "The City". This story follows Finn and the other avians he meets in his quest to get back home. Buckle up folks, there's gonna be a lot of drama ahead.
