Orion’s POV:
There were only a few scrapes and bruises on Shiro, nothing too bad. I wanted to look for my mother and father, but I couldn’t leave her alone with Farith. I needed to deal with him as soon as possible.
This was all my fault; I should have killed him when he first started to be a problem. It looks like she was knocked unconscious. Good now she won't have to witness what I was about to do to this bastard.
With each step I took the ground turned to molten rock under my feet. “S-stay back.” Farith stumbled backwards.
[Hell’s Paradise]
Farith launched a spell. Purple fire balls around the size of base balls flew around the village tearing through buildings and people, either catching them ablaze or killing them instantly. I continued to make my way towards Farith dodging every ball of flame that came my way.
“Do YOU really think you can get out of this alive?” He spat
[Flame Lance]
He made a lance made of flames. It actually impressed me. “I hope you survive this, so you can watch helplessly as I make a woman out of your precious little sister.” He spat throwing the purple flamed spear.
The spear flew at me with frightening speed, I caught the flying spear with my left arm weirdly enough it was completely solid. When I caught it, my arm jerked back at the sheer force it was flying at. Soon after I caught it, it dissipated. I brought up my arm and fired a condensed ball of black flames which tore off his arm.
Farith looked at where his arm should be. “ARGH.” He coughed up a mouthful of blood. “MY ARM!”
He clutched at the stump of his arm. The wound was already cauterized from the heat of my flame. With each step I took forward he took a step back. “GET BACK.” He screamed stumbling backward still clutching his stump of an arm.
Again, Farith tried throwing the same purple flamed spear.
[Purple Thunder.]
I brought up my right arm and shot a bolt a of purple lightning that pierced through the flame spear and going straight through his remaining arm. It was tore straight from the socket spurting blood from the stump.
I grabbed him by his collar and picked him up. “Defile? Make a woman as I watch helplessly?” My voice was cold as I let out killing intent making him shiver.
“N-no fair, lightning? H-how?” He managed to get out.
“Why did you do this?” I roared.
“HAHAHA YOU THINK I’D TELL YO--- oof.” I dropped him.
I stomped on his left leg and with a bone splitting crunch blood splattered everywhere from under my foot. Farith’s blood curdling scream tore out his throat as he tried to move his arms that weren’t there. I picked him up again. “Again, why did you do this.” I asked.
No response.
I smacked his face to get his attention. “Why did you do this.” I asked.
“PAUAHAHAHA.” He busted out laughing. “YOU THINK I’D TELL YOU? What I do know is that incompetent fool you call your father he’s gone. He’s probably dead by now and when my father comes back you will too.”
I dropped him and looked around and didn’t see him or my mother. “Where are they.” I roared.
“The chief took your father and your mother...” A hoarse voice paused. I looked down to see Jerrod's brother Seth. His arm was torn from its socket and bleeding profusely, he was probably going to die from blood loss. “Your mother is in your house.”
I looked at Farith who was now in a crippled state. I set my foot on his remaining leg and stomped on it. “Do you really think that hurts." He grunted out in pain as he coughed up blood.
I walked and picked up his severed arm it was cold to the touch practically frozen I straightened the fingers so his hand was fully extended into a spear. "W-what are you doing" the realization hit him.
I picked up Farrith by the hair and speared his own arm through his chest. "You aren't even worthy getting my hands bloodied."
I looked at my house that was now in rubble. I sprinted leaving the dead body of Farith on the ground. I searched the rubble of what used to be what I called home. I finally found her, but her body was crushed and burnt. Her once pale white skin was now a charred black. I checked for any signs of life but there was none.
She was clutching something in her hand, I opened her fist to find a necklace with a locket and a dog tag with our family name on it. I opened the locket to find a picture of our family at a picnic under the Akai tree. I clutched it and brought it close to my heart. I tried but I couldn’t stop myself from tearing up.
I knelt beside my mother's dead body and wept.
After what felt like hours, I could feel a slight touch on my left shoulder but when I looked, I didn’t see anyone. “I’ll find him mom.” I looked up into the sky. “I’ll find dad and protect Shiro, I promise.”
Shiro finally gained consciousness, and I broke the news to her. She cried; I couldn’t do anything to protect them. What is this power worth if I can't protect the ones I love? I wrapped my arms around Shiro as she wept.
We decided to bury our mother under the Akai tree. She loved this tree; I don’t know if she knew about it glowing, but I wish we could’ve seen it before she was gone. I kneeled and placed a blood rose on her grave. The flower was a dark crimson red with the stem being a bright green. It absorbed the blood that was on it and made the petals darker, she liked it when the pedals were dark, so I grabbed the thorns so it would pierce my skin.
I got up and headed down the path. “Where are you going?” Shiro asked.
“To finish some unfinished business.” I said walking out of sight.
I went down the mountain to where everyone was, everyone looked at me with contempt but also with fear in their eyes.
Jerrod’s POV:
I kneeled over my little brother's corpse trying my hardest to hold back tears. I don’t even know what happened. I was in a fight with Orion then was knocked unconscious. “Jerrod.” I froze at the sound of his voice; it was cold and filled with authority.
I wanted to say something, but I couldn’t my words were stuck in my throat. Suddenly I was picked up by the back of my collar. “Jerrod, you cause this.” He said looking into my eyes.
I was terrified, Orion’s presence seems to be warping reality itself. My body wouldn’t move, it was like time has frozen, I was staring into the eyes of death itself. The pressure in the air was getting heavier with each second, and time seemed to move slower. I tried to get away, but he grabbed me by the collar and ignited it with black flames.
The flames were hot, hotter than normal flames. I was scared but also relieved. I would be able to see my brother again. “I’m sorry for your loss. Do what you need to.” I accepted death.
He gripped my neck and the flames started to dance around his arm before finally getting to my neck. It was hot, I couldn’t breathe. I wanted it to stop but I deserved this. If I didn’t stop Orion this could’ve all been avoided. I didn’t know it would lead to this. The last thing I heard was the snapping of my neck before everything faded to darkness. I’m coming Seth.
Orion’s POV:
I set his lifeless body next to his brother’s and looked around. Everyone was looking at me with sadness in their eyes. My arm had purple lightning coiling around it. The clouds in the sky were dark gray perfect for this.
[God’s Wrath]
I raised my arm and shot the lightning into the cloud and charged it with lightning. It started to storm down purple lightning through buildings and people. “Your deaths will not be painless.” I said striking down everyone. Thankfully Shiro was the youngest cause I couldn’t kill a kid.
Finally, after everyone was dead, I started to condense fire into a small point and after a few minutes I launched it at the ground away from the mountain that the Akai tree was on. It was a giant blast of black flames disintegrating everything in its path.
Nothing in the village was left except the few buildings that survived, luckily one was the bank. I went inside the bank and took a giant bag of gold coins and stored it in the locket’s dimensional storage. I went back up the mountain back to where Shiro was. She was still kneeling and crying. “Come on Shiro we have to go.
