"So let me get this straight... you three thought it was necessary to bother me a hundred and twenty-eight hours into this project without a half descent reason?' Alex questioned the three men that stood in front of his desk; the current Head soldier, the doctor Angelina had almost killed yesterday and the soldier who had called in the 'Code E' yesterday. "One of you better start explaining yourselves as to how a simple girl was able to injure two people, break a window and be the result of a 'Code E'" Alex said in a warning tone "On the cameras, it looks like she broke the widow with her elbow then proceeded to use the glass shards to hurt me and another soldier" the doctor started. "Not good enough, Doctor Ausnion" Alex stated, turning his attention to the Head soldier "Commander Noel?" "I-" "Sir" the low ranking soldier interrupted Alex. Alex raised a brow as he glared at the soldier "Commander Noel had no part in this, I called in the Code E because Patient 4N63L obviously saw something no one else could and for a second, I thought that there was a breach in the Block A children ward" the soldier explained "I should've looked into it more before immediately calling in something". Alex leaned back in his chair "Good to see you take responsibility for your own mistake, Brown" Alex said as the soldier breathed out in relief, although Alex using his last name still made him feel like he wasn't entirely forgiven. "For now on, anything resulting in a 'Code E'... all patients will be locked within any room they are in and I will be the only one to call in any future breaches if necessary" Alex told everyone with in the office "Doctor Ausnion, tell all other leading doctors and nurses that treatments will be pushed forward a day early" Alex ordered. "But sir, with each vaccine requires at least a day of recovery-" "Did I hesitate?" Alex snapped, interrupting Ausnion mid sentence "N-no sir-" "Then do as I say... I will not hesitate anything, especially when it comes down to making examples out of those who can't follow simple commands" he reminded the three men. "We're already a hundred-and-twenty-eight and a half hours into this project..." Alex stated "The treatments will be sped up, everything must be finished by the end of this month, no later" Alex told them, still glaring daggers at the men. "Whether anyone agrees with me or not, that is what will be done" Alex continued, leaning forward a bit in his chair "Regardless if it's mine... or Grey Leader's wrath you face" he warned the three men "You are all dismissed".
Angelina sat on her bed, the back of her head throbbing as she tiredly stared at the treated cuts on her arms and hands. "Ḫ̵͌u̴͉͛r̴͜͝ṱ̶̽ṣ̴́... d̵͈̐o̵͉̓e̵͖͐s̶̮̊n̷̡̾'t ȉ̴̗t̴̛͎?" the haunting voice of the shadowed girl questioned as Angelina didn't dare to look up or even acknowledge her "Just go away" Angelina quietly whispered, quiet enough for the camera to not pick up. "Ą̴̛n̸̤͐d̴̻̿ ̷̖̔j̴̥͊ű̷͎s̵̹̉t̷͕̔ ̴̡͆l̶͍̕e̶̯̔ä̸͈v̵͈́e̶͚̚ ̵͓̆y̸͚̿o̵̲͘u̵͚̔ ̴̺̏ḧ̴͖́ę̸̉r̷͕͠e̶̝͛ ̸̫͛t̸̔ͅo̶͖͊ ̸͖̆ḑ̷̾e̸̟͋a̶̧̔l̸̠̑ ̶̛̗ẘ̸̡i̶̧͋ṱ̴̅h̷̆͜ ̶̬̓ẗ̶̘́h̴̜̕i̵̗͗s̷̯̆ ̶̛̣h̶͙̽o̴̖͝r̵͓̓r̵̘̿ī̸̢d̵͙͝ ̸̤͌ẃ̷̲r̶͕̓ô̵̖n̴̡̛g̶̙͂f̴͔̎ũ̸̱l̶͈̕ ̶̡͘c̷͚̍r̷̳͘a̸̠̎p̴̮͛? Angelina immediately jumped off her bed and attempted to make a run for it yet both soldiers simply grabbed her by the arms, not caring for the black stitching holding the cuts closed and dragged her out of the room, and down the corridor filled with other screaming kids struggling in the arms of soldiers and doctors. Along with all the other children from the Block A ward, Angelina was taken to the surgical ward of the hospital and dragged into a separate room, door being closed and locked behind her before being dragged over and strapped onto the bed. A nurse who was already standing in the room brought over a tray holding five needles, four holding a weird coloured serum and one holding nothing within it. Angelina struggled under the restraints, still trying to get free as she yelled whilst the nurse gently caressed the side of her face, making the girl look up at her "Don't worry my dear child..." the nurse said in a calming lullaby-like voice "It'll only hurt for a while" she said before injecting the serum of the first needle into Angelina's neck. Angelina felt her head go completely numb, making her feel as though she was gonna be sick until the nurse injected the second needle into her upper left arm and as she removed the needle, the girl screamed out in absolute pain as the area surrounding the pricked skin started to bruise.
The nurse continued; third needle into the girl's left wrist, fourth needle into her left thigh, and lastly the fifth needle used to extract some blood from the right arm... by sticking the needle right into the cut itself. Angelina's eyes flickered between their normal deep ocean blue and a hauntingly bright blue glow as her screaming echoed throughout the room and surgical ward, joining the endless screaming and yelling of children experiencing the same thing... all but one.
Corey tiredly opened his eyes, woken up by the endless screaming of the children of ward Block A who've been moved into the surgical ward. Corey looking around the room, finding himself still strapped to the bed he was being electrocuted in yesterday 'They couldn't even bother carrying me back?' Corey thought yet that soon changed once he saw the shadowed kid heavily chained to the wall again "Hey..." Corey's voice was dry and raspy, as if sandpaper had been shoved down his throat. The kid lifted their head only a little yet it dropped back down "Hey... I know you can hear me-" "What do you want?" the kid spat, voice immediately giving away that they were beyond tired 'They're... he's a boy' Corey thought to himself 'But... he's so skinny and thin-' "I said 'what do you want?'" the kid repeated himself, knocking Corey out of thought. Corey knew these thoughts weren't what he should actually be focused on right now, but at the moment he has been left alone with the mysterious kid who is somehow connected to him, to the point that they both can literately feel the other's physical pain. "...what's your name?" Corey asked and immediately the shadowed boy answered "Not telling you" it's not the answer Corey wanted "Do you know where we are-" "It's nicknamed the 'GACTC'..." the kid answered "What the hell's that?" "It stands for 'Grey Army Child Testing Centre'" the shadowed boy tiredly snapped. "All you have to know is that we're in absolute hell and it's all my fault" the kid told Corey, the boy angrily signed in annoyance "You're not making any fucking sense-" "Like anything logical is gonna help either of us right now" the kid spat back "All you and your 'friends' had to do was act fucking normal for once in your pathetic lives so the fucking Grey Army would've never found us so easily... maybe then we wouldn't be in this fucking situation" the shadowed kid muttered harshly. Corey's head snapped back to the kid chained up "Just a few seconds ago, you said that it was your fault, not ours-" "Believe me, everyone's to blame at this point" the kid said as he weakly fumbled with the chained shackles on his ankles and wrists "Can't hate me from making myself feel better by shifting the blame a little bit".
Corey turned his head away from the boy, still a little pissed yet understanding "I get it, trust me I do-" "I know you do" the boy told Corey "What do you-" "I know you better than anyone, even more than yourself... I'm just someone who knows you, but you've never met before" the shadowed kid added as Corey felt a stabbing feeling in his chest. 'Why do I feel like I know you though?' Corey questioned himself, feeling his own pained energy return to him "... don't give me your real name, just give me something to call you" Corey asked the other boy, the shadowed kid raised a brow yet they still stayed frowned "Why?". "Cuz it feels stupid to just to know your 'existence' and not know your name, so just give me a name that you wouldn't mind me calling you by" Corey answered the kid, at least trying his best to hold in his annoyed anger risen up by the other boy "...Ethan" the boy eventually answered. Corey raised a brow "Ethan? why-" "Cuz if I was actually human, I'd rather the name I could've been given at 'birth' instead of the crappy one I have now" the kid spat harshly "Okay okay... Ethan it is" Corey muttered, now staring up at the ceiling above him 'Knowing at least a name is a good start-' Corey paused his thought, repeating what 'Ethan' had just told him in his head. 'If he was actually human?... the hell is that suppose to mean?!' Corey thought to himself as the children's screaming and yelling got even louder than before.
