The yelling coming from down the hall has Elias confused. He did not know if there was trouble or if something was going on. He moves closer, seeing as it was the same way that Aria had went earlier that morning. His brows furrow as he comes to an open door that has multiple people peeking in, pumping their hands in the air. To be frank, they are being a nuisance.
“I wonder what the attraction is?” Kial’s voice asks, startling him. He whips his head around, to see the man with his head tilted in confusion.
Elias shrugs,” I remember Aria coming down this way. She didn’t exactly tell me where she was heading though.” At that, he watches as realization flickers through his eyes and he groans, a bit annoyed. He furrows his brows, a bit confused. “Is it something to worry about?”
Kial shrugs, quickly moving towards the crowd,” I may have unintentionally been the cause of this.” he pushes through, easily making room for Elias to follow. He does have that authority over the people. Elias gulps, worry filling his being. What if they got into an argument? Lydell and Aria have rarely talked and both have not shown any signs of wanting to be amicable with each other.
Elias pokes his head in after Kial and his eyes widen. This is what Elias was afraid of. One thing he had noticed was that while Aria seems to be calm and have even temperament, she is always ready to start a fight. Whether it is justified or not.
Lydell is breathing heavily, her eyes narrowed. Sweat is causing her pale skin to glisten and her red curls are sticking to her forehead as they escape the confines of her band. Her stance is less tight, allowing more openings, but even still she presses on.
Aria on the other hand, looks like she hasn’t broken a sweat. Even though she is standing relaxed, she is leaving no room for Lydell to attack. It seems that she hasn’t even landed a hit in the span of this fight.

“Are you sure you want to continue, Red?” Aria smirks, her eyes flashing silver as she backs away from Lydell. A growl escapes Lydell as she launches at her, throwing blow after blow and then spinning a kick towards Aria’s face.
Aria grunts silently, grabbing the ankle. She calmly holds on, her grasp tightening and she swings Lydell around. A collective gasp echoes through the room. Lydell cries out, surprised at the sudden move. She squeezes her eyes shut as she feels herself being thrown at the wall.
Lydell quickly snaps her eyes open, looking around for something to grab onto. She twists midair and uses her feet to launch herself off the wall.
“You could have hurt me,” she mutters, straightening her body. This little reprieve is giving her time to asses her options. She can’t even hold out for much longer and Aria knows it. It’s a bit infuriating. She just has that smug expression on her face, with a raised eyebrow and an amused gleam in her grey eyes. In this whole fight, she has barely made one offensive move. It's embarrassing! Especially since the two have seemed to garner a crowd.
Her blue eyes survey the room. She knows she needs the upper hand quickly or she will be utterly toast. Not only did she challenge a natural born fighter, she is losing terribly. She blinks, an idea passing through her head. She smirks, before running towards Aria.
Aria’s eyes narrow, having caught the smirk. She prepares herself for another attack, deeming this one to be the final attempt. She settles down, lowering her body and moving her arms into a defensive stance. Blocking the cheers and the voices of the crowd, she waits as Lydell approaches. Her eyes widen seeing Lydell move quicker than before. Interesting.
Lydell drops suddenly as she approaches Aria. Her right heel comes up, aiming right for Aria’s chin. However, Aria dodges, tilting her head to the side. Which puts her right in the spot, unable to dodge Lydell’s other foot as it swings up and around towards her cheek.
Aria’s widened eyes take glance, before suddenly a gust of air shoves her backwards slightly, just out of reach. Nobody noticed, thinking that she had super-fast reflexes. Nobody but Elias of course, who’s eyes widen in fear and disbelief.
A look of incredulity flashes in Lydell’s eyes. That's impossible. She calculated all the moves and she was sure that she wouldn’t be able to get away. So, this has her reeling. She's not even prepared for Aria’s counterattack.
Aria throws her hand out, grabbing ahold of Lydell’s ankle then yanks her towards herself. As Lydell slides closer, Aria’s knees slams into her gut, sending a gust of pain through Lydell’s body. She coughs out air, trying to breathe with little success and her hands, can’t grab onto anything to stable herself as she is just dangling by this point. She’s heaving, trying to grasp at the air that had escaped her lungs from the knee. The pain is sharp, cutting through her body with every move she makes.
Satisfied, Aria lowers her back to the ground, letting Lydell sort out her grievances with her pain alone. It was a good match. Granted, Aria went easy on her, but for a fighter and a tactician, Lydell was very adept. She had good foresight and quick reaction time. Which is not common among many fighters.
After a minute of recuperating, Lydell straightens her body as she stands, ignoring the soreness that had dulled. A small grin forms on her face as she surveys the room and the crowd that had gathered to witness their bout. When she looks over to Aria, she can see the impressed look on her face and returns one of her own. “You... are pretty good,” she compliments.
Aria nods, crossing her arm,” You as well. It was a riveting attempt.” Taking that as an attempt to jab a snide remark at her, Lydell just shakes her head, ignoring her. Knowing Kial, he should be coming around in a couple of seconds.
Then on cue, Kial shows up from the multitude of people, Elias on his heels. “Lydell,” he calls out, crossing his arms.
Glancing at Kial, Lydell narrows her blue eyes at the man. His posture looks a bit too tense to be his normal chilled self. His brows are furrowed, angrily and there’s a small frown on his face. She sighs,” Yes, Kail?”
“Why are you fighting? You know the rules. You are normally the one enforcing them,” he questions. His golden-brown eyes dart to Aria, who raises an eyebrow.
Lydell pierces her lips, confused. “I am not sure why you seem on edge about this. You fight all the time? What is wrong with me trying to be welcoming to our guest?” Her question catches Aria off guard. Especially since they have not been on the best terms since they have met. It was very apparent that they were both wary of each other, so this defense is a welcome surprise.
When she glances at Elias, she can see that he has some choice words for her as well. A sigh escapes her lips as she focuses back in on the growing argument between the two.
“You should not let this sudden budding friendship cloud your judgement. Don’t forget the reason that we brought them here,” Kial snaps. The anger and worry in his voice take them aback. Lydell has rarely ever heard Kial get angry. He just never seemed to be the type to let his anger show, so something is definitely off.
She nervously chuckles, ignoring the red painting her cheeks in embarrassment. The crowd hasn’t dissipated at all, instead moving closer in order to get a look at the great and strait-laced daughter be reprimanded. She scratches her nape, darting her blue orbs away from him before immediately meeting Kial’s eyes again.
“Kial, I know what I am doing. I won’t forget. Besides, you gave her permission to be here. What is that about?” she questions, her eyes glancing at Aria.
Kial scoffs,” Yes, because she had asked and was being cooperative. You’re over here gallivanting with her as if y’all are best friends. Did you forget what happened last time?” his voice rises by the end of his statement, making Lydell anxious. Shame rushes through her body as the memories pour in. She has to be more careful. Her eyes dull as she nibbles on her bottom lip, ashamed that she let Aria play her.
Aria’s eyes narrow and she crosses her arms,” It was just a sparring session. I was the one who taunted her.” It didn’t sit well with her that Lydell was not being as obstinate and firm as normal.
Kial glances over at her,” You need to watch how you interact. Remember, you’re still an outsider. We don’t trust outsiders.” With that, Kial turns to the crowd and begins waving them away.
Aria furrows her brows, confused at his drastic change in attitude and looks at Elias. Who has a frown on his face.
You need to be more careful, Aria, his voice rings in her head. I could tell that you used the air to push yourself backwards. We don’t know who is watching. Don't get overexcited just because you may have found a good fight. You are not like them. Remember that.
Aria nods, feeling like she is back in her village, where her anjuhwo is admonishing her for trying to go play with the other children. She sighs, her eyes losing their shine and nods at Elias. I understand. I am sorry.
