I went back to the Plaza with Nico (my other cat). She’s more active than Draco, but she wasn't running around frantically so it’s fine.
“Hey,” I called to Martin.
“Hii, who’s your companion?” He got down from his skateboard, he was practicing some trick.
“Nico, she’s Draco’s daughter.”
“She's almost as big as him.”
“Yeah they grow fast, she's only 6 months old.”
“Who’s your companions?” I asked back to him.
He introduced me to the people he was skating with. Edwin - tall guy, Pau - bleach blonde, and Roan - short hair.
Roan didn’t have a board, she broke it a week ago. The new deck was still in the customs - the online shop said. So she sat next to me and petted Nico. She was classmates with Martin and Pau in the private school that Kayla’s boyfriend Shaun went to. We are the same age, along with Edwin but he is one grade ahead of us, an early student.
Martin sat next to me when he lent his boards to Roan, she is really good. He was sweaty.
“What trick were you doing?”
“I'm trying to do a kickflip, I’ve done it once, but that was the only time.”
“How long have you been skateboarding?”
“The beginning of the year, Pau got me into it. I'm still so bad at it.”
“You look good tho.”
“Huh?”
“I mean you look good, like your form looks good.” I cleared up quickly.
He was smiling. “Do you plan to do something?”
“Nothing really.”
“You wanna skate?”
“Sure.”
Nico napped on Edwin’s lap, they both looked satisfied.
Edwin’s board has cats drawn on the back. I get why they were comfortable with each other.
I fell almost every time. I don’t know if my ears were red with embarrassment or with Martin near me. Either way, I suck at it, but I can stand on it without falling on my ass after 30 minutes of Martin patiently teaching me.
We got each other’s social media, we totally forgot about it yesterday.
