“Heh. Hamparker Ranch retains its Western vibe as always, huh? Hardly anything ever changes.”

Hamparker Ranch was a coastal sprawling town where the area of the island was 100% farm land. Anyone that resided here goes to the port city, coincidentally called Port Hamparker, to sell their grown foods/vegetables and whatever in the marketplace. A lot of Caribbean islands are known for having these farms and ranches, and you'll often see people tending to them so calmly like they don't have a single care in the world. Brian and Tyler would often visit here after school to hangout with their friends.

Brian looked down.

“Yeah, but it’s to be expected really. The Western ambience is so unique compared to the rest of the island.”

Tyler looked over his shoulder.

“It’s even nicer when you look out into the ocean and see the gorgeous sunset from here. I’d like to think here is a fun place to hangout sometimes.”

Usui would chuckle as they hopped off once he stopped, shaking his fur.

“You two are definitely a unique pair. It’s amusing.”

The three of them had stopped at the fountain in the center, and shortly after, they were approached by a figure that resembled a taur, along with two others on its back.

“Howdy! Nice to see you guys made it here safely!”

Said one of the figures as she hopped off the taur and hugged both Brian and Tyler. She was a caramel furred bunny with blue hair and green eyes. The other, who was a dark grey snow leopard, got off and gave a hug to them too, along with giving Usui a hug around his fluffy neck.

Brian’s tail wagged as the bunny hugged him.

“It’s great to see you too Sammy! Jinx!”

“Well, ya know. As long as we have Usui’s superb flying skills, we’ll always be safe!”

Tyler exclaimed with a confident grin.

Usui sat up, looking at Tyler with a laugh as he hugged the snow leopard.

“Y’all flatter me too much.”

The taur spoke up as he stretched his arms about.

“So, are ya good or do ya need anything else?”

Sammy looked at her taur friend.

“One more thing. Brian, Tyler, Usui, this is Sage. He’s my neighbor.”

Sage gave the group a shy wave.

“Heh heh. Hiya. Lovely to meet you all.”

Usui switched himself back to anthro form as he let go of Jinx, curiously going up to the taur and examining him.

“Huh. You’re quite an interesting creature…I’ve never really seen a taur before..”

Sage gave the angel dragon a smile and patted his head.

“Well I’ve never seen a dragon quite like you before either, so I think we’re even on that front, haha.”

Usui looked away with a slight blush.

“..I suppose that’s fair.”

“Anyway, I gotta run, I want to try and practice improving my archery before it gets dark out.”

Sage would say, chuckling before trotting off to another part of the plaza.

As the group waved goodbye, Sam would look to her angel dragon and two canine companions with an eager smile.

“Now c’mon, let’s get you guys situated. We’ll take the scenic route back to my farm.”

The farmland in Hamparker Ranch all belonged to different families, and each had their own sort of product to contribute to the island’s general economy and food supply; Some stashed vegetables and fruit they grew from the ground, while others housed different creatures to care for, like the Coatlings and Pawaptors. Sam’s family farm was situated more towards the coast, and they were known for harvesting both fruits and vegetables. 

Tyler watched the sunset as it slowly went down, being amazed by the sight. Soon enough though, he’d feel a little tingly.

“..Do…you guys feel your bodies being a bit tingly or is that just me?”

The group looked at him and all shook their heads ‘No’, but Brian spoke up.

“Now that you mention it, I definitely do feel a little weird inside..”

Sammy reached her arm up and pat Tyler’s shoulders.

“I’m sure you guys are okay. Could just be mosquitoes biting at you if anything.”

Tyler looked back with a smile.

“Y-Yeah..haha, you’re probably right. But hey, at least the sunset is nice…a little weird that it’s glowing green though…”

Everyone looked back at the ocean’s horizon, as the sun that was once high in the sky was now sinking below the sea. The green aura was surrounding it…and Usui quickly glanced back at both the boys as their eyes remained fixated on said aura.

“Something’s wrong. I can sense it.”

“What makes you say that?”

Tyler’s smile would soon appear very toothy and most of his face being even more fluffier than before, causing Sam to back away a little. She looked over to Brian, who seemed to be experiencing the same.

“Wh-Wh..What’s going on??” Jinx would say, looking with confusion as she and Sammy continued to back away from her transforming companions. They watched as both Brian and Tyler grew bigger, and fluffier… and weirdly enough, not to the point where their articles of clothing would rip apart. Their process ended pretty quickly, with a mighty howl coming from them, almost as if they were proud to show off their new appearances.

Sammy looked over at Jinx.

“They’re..werewolves?? Since when??”

The leopard shrugged. She was just as confused as her.

Sammy let out a calm exhale, trying to think of a plan, as this was not at all what she was expecting to happen.

“Well..No matter. I think we should like..get you two inside just to be safe. I’m not sure how people here would react to two giant werewolves strolling about at dusk.”

[Shortly after, at the house in Sam’s Family Farm]

Brian and Tyler would look each other up and down, confused and astounded as the girls were at their new appearances. Brian moved about in a panic.

“Oh god. Oh god. I’m a werewolf. I can’t go home like this. Everyone’s going to think I’m a monster. How did this even happen???”

Tyler scratched his chin.

“...I have a feeling it might have had something to do with the sunset, and how I pointed out that it had some sort of green aura.”

Usui got up and examined the two.

“Definitely seems so. My ears detected a shift in the energy sound waves, and that’s most likely what caused your transformation…Real question is, is this permanent?”

A phone would vibrate.

Tyler looked down at his shorts.

“..Would you guys mind answering that? My paws are too big.”

Jinx reached into his pocket and picked up the phone.

“It’s from Adam.”

She’d say as she automatically pressed accept, and put him on speaker.

“Hello?”

Tyler looked down.

“Hello? Hey big bro. What’s up?”

“Are you guys okay?? You didn’t get affected by the sunset, did you?”

Tyler looked around and laughed nervously. 

“Well…Actually…”

“You did, didnt you?”

Tyler moved his face a little closer to the speaker.

“Haha…we did. Why ya askin?”

Adam sighed on the other end.

“I’m askin because Riley and I did too. I was at the Observatory earlier today helping Mom and Pops, and according to the research they had compiled, apparently this is called the “Green Flash Effect”. Pops said that while it’s a very rare occurrence, it only really affects canines. We turn into werewolves when this happens, and according to the data, we’d turn back at sunrise. I think we’ll just have to endure this til we turn back to normal. Until then, you and Brian stay safe, okay?”

Tyler scoffed lightly with a smile.

“I will, I will. Love ya, bro.”

“Love ya too, little bro.”

Adam hung up.

Sammy lightly cupped Brian’s fluffy face in an attempt to calm him down.

“Hey, hey. Look at me. I know you’re super scared, but there’s nothing we can really do right now. You’re going to be okay. We’re all going to be okay. We just gotta make do with our situation until tomorrow morning, alright?”

Brian let in a soft inhale and exhale, softly nodding his head in agreement.

Sammy gave him a comforting smile.

“That being said, anyone up for a sleepover?”
