This should be fun. An epic journey through time and space in my brand new time machine! Unexpectedly, the machine started shaking violently. It didn't do this before... Perhaps it was because I programmed it with the maximum capacity of one passenger. Maybe.

Definitely. It for sure had to be that. 

Me and Zyneb were out cold. The shaking beat us up, man! 

When we woke up, we were greeted by a nice lady who looked about our age, named... What is her name? Keep in mind, this is being documented in real time. Okay guys, little update: her name is Zedarnda... Dumb name. Then, I found out after a quick look around that we were in the future, so she has an excuse at least. With curiosity, I asked: "How old are you?" I was excited to find out she's my age. Zyneb's too, I guess.

When we explained everything, she offered to give us a tour. Just take a wild guess at what I said. And so, we were off. Honestly, the future did not look that bad. This particular city was governed by a man named Captain Zeldalis. She took us to his... government house thing, whatever. 

"Hi dad, still hard at work?"

"Hey, a city captain's job is never done!"

Wait, he's Zedarnda's DAD?! 

"And who are these two fine gentlemen who look like they've been frozen in time for 35 years?" He asked her. Also, oddly specific.

"Dad, I'd like you to meet Jack and Zyneb... They're time travelers!"

"Oh cool. Nice to meet you, boys!"

He then leaned over and whispered in my ear: "Hey. Don't try anything with my daughter, alright?"--he slowly backs away--"I'm watching you... and you too, Zyneb."

"What?"

Crap.

What I wanted to know was why mayors are called "captains" now, so I asked daddy's girl Zedarnda. 

"It just sounds better, don't you think?"

That didn't really help, but I just agreed and didn't ask her to go into the actual history behind it. Then, we were off to the next leg of this mini time-tour. And I'm trying not to make too much eye contact with Zedarnda, because who knows what new security devices exist in the future that might enable her father to monitor us at all times? Now that is scary.

After the tour, Zyneb was already bored of the future. As much as he wanted to leave and be done with this, I did not. So, we're staying for another week with Zedarnda, the captain's princess. Though, Captain Zeldalis wasn't all too thrilled with this idea...
