A mouse scuttered quickly and quietly through the vent. It then stopped and stared through vents.
A man in a black hood cleared his throat. Two men in black with their faces staring at the man in the hood.
"Do you have it?" The man in the hood said in a raspy voice.
The man with the black hair and tan skin shook his head and handed the hooded man a briefcase.
The mouse in the vents wiggled it's way through the vents and then shifted into a black cat as it fell to the ground. As soon as the cat hit the floor it shifted into a girl with red hair pulled into a ponytail and green eyes. She wore a black leather jumpsuit with a small light gray crow in the corner of the front of the jumpsuit and black leather boots.
"Oh! Look what we have here?" The man in the hood said enthusiastically. "Well isn't it little Red,” the man said, looking at the girl with red hair.
“And if it isn’t Mr. I’m about to get my butt whooped?” Little Red said, smirking.
“Are you sure about that?” The man in the hood said as reached into his hood pulling out a small briefcase and opened it. Inside was a small black remote with a red button he then held it up for everyone to see. “I have bombs hidden all over town about to blow up this city at the push of a button.”
Little Red did not look intimidated at all, instead she just grinned and said, “We’ll see about that.” Little Red got into a fighting stance as the man in the hood signaled the two men he was talking to, to get her.
The two men held out their arms ready to snatch her up and then ran towards her. Little Red turned and rounded housed the first guy in the mouth so hard she sent him into a wall. She heard a groan, but kept going. The second guy put up more of a fight and swung his fists at Little Red barely missing her face as she lept back and squatted down. She then swung her leg hard underneath him and he crashed down with a groan.
“You’re too late Little Red!” The man in the hood said, pushing down on the red button.
Nothing happened.
The man pushed the button again.
Nothing happened.
The man then shook the remote and pressed it over and over and over again.
Nothing happened.
“Looks like you’re all out of moves. Checkmate,” Little Red said as two figures appeared beside her and one behind him. The man behind him began cuffing him.
“H...h...how?” The man in the hood asked, confused.
“Ah. I’m afraid I can’t tell you that. It’s against the rules,” Little Red said, putting a finger to her lips as if to tell him to be quiet. She then winked.
“Thanks, Red,” The woman with short black hair beside her said.
“No problem, Crow. Hunting down this guy was fun,” Red said, smirking at the man in the hood.
The man in the hood looked down, defeated.
“By the way, the boss wants you back at headquarters for your next mission. She said it’s urgent,” Crow said, looking down at her watch.
“Well then, if you got him under control, I’m out of here,” Red said, sulting before running off.
A little while later, Red arrived at headquarters. She went through the light blue see-through elevators and up to the tenth floor. The doors opened and Red walked into a dark candle lit hallway that led to wooden doors. Red then knocked.
“Come in,” Said a voice behind the doors.
Red opened the door and stepped inside. She immediately shut the door behind her. She then walked over to a big wooden desk in the middle of a big empty room with a black swivel chair turned to it’s back.
“You requested me, Boss?” Red said, bowing.
“Yes. Please, have a seat, Red,” A woman’s voice said, sounding strict.
Red sat in a black leather seat in front of the wooden desk.
The swivel chair then swiveled around to reveal a woman with black hair in a tight bun with dark brown eyes in a pantsuit.
The woman inched forward letting her hands come together on the desk. She then placed her head in her hands.
“I have a proposition for you,” the woman began. “As you may know the man you just captured is Professor Claw. As you also may have heard, he has a son about your age…” The woman paused, waiting for Red’s reaction. “I want you to train him.”
“Train him?” Red asked, appalled. “You want me to train the enemy's son?”
“Yes. That way we can use him to help save more people. I’m sure he would be of great use,” the woman said with a serious tone.
“If I may ask, why me? Why would you want me to train him?” Red asked, confused.
“You are the most skilled out of all of our spies. If you teach him we are sure to have more power on our side,” the woman answered.
Red sat there puzzled for a moment.
“Do you accept my proposal?” the woman said, standing up and reaching out her hand for Red to shake it.
Red took the woman’s hand and shook it.
“Excellent,” the woman said as soon as there was a knock on the door.
“Come in,” the woman said.
The door opened and in stepped a man with black fluffy shaggy hair and ocean blue eyes wearing a black v-neck shirt and blue jeans. To Red he seemed almost...handsome. Almost.
“Red meet Adrien. Adrien, Red,” the woman said, introducing them to each other.
Adrien held out his hand. Red took it and shook it quickly and then put her hand back at her side.
“You both will now eat, sleep, train, and go on missions together,” the woman said looking stern. “You are both dismissed.”
Red then bowed and Adrien followed Red’s actions.
Red and Adrien then walked out of the room and into the hallway where they walked into the elevator.
“So…,” Adrien began. “Why’s your name Red?”
Red didn’t answer. She just looked straight ahead and clicked on the button 5.
“Ok...Where are we going?” Adrien asked, looking at Red.
Red ignored him.
“When do I get a cool nickname?” Adrien asked.
Red rolled her eyes.
“Hello?” Adrien said.
Red didn’t answer.
“Hello?” Adrien repeated.
“When you earn it, we are going to get you some new clothes. Now, I don’t want to be your friend so please stop talking to me,” Red said, still staring at the elevator doors.
“Ok...Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed,” Adrien said, putting his arms close to his chest in defeat.
The doors finally opened revealing another dark hallway.
“How can you tell which room is which? Why is it so dark?” Adrien said, looking around as they walked further and further down the hall until they reached the end with a door with a big number “690”.
Red unclipped some keys from her belt and began unlocking the door.
She then opened the door and gestured for Adrien to walk inside. Adrien followed Red’s gesture and happily walked inside.
Red turned and locked the door. She then flipped on the lights revealing a big open space with a living room, kitchen, and two doors on the left side of the kitchen.
“Whoa! Do all of the rooms look like this?” Adrien said.
“Nope. Just mine,” Red said, rummaging around the kitchen for something.
“Why just yours?” Adrien asked in amazement. Intrigued that he got Red to talk.
“I’ve been here the longest,” Red said. “So I’ve worked the longest.”
There was a long pause and then an “Ah-ha!”
Red pulled out a matching black and red jumpsuit and threw it at Adrien who barely caught it. He then held it up to his chest and looked down. It barely made it to his ankles.
“I don’t think this will fit,” Adrien said, uneasy.
“Yes it will, it’s an automatic fit. It stretches or shrinks depending on your body size,” Red said all knowingly.
“Go try it on. I’m gonna make something to eat,” Red said, turning around to open the fridge.
Adrien then walked away and into a bathroom.
A little while later, Adrien came out of the bathroom wearing a matching suit to the one Red was wearing, only without a belt.
“How do I look?” Adrien asked.
Red turned around and looked Adrien up and down her cheeks turning a little pink. She then turned back around and continued to stir rice in a pot.
“You look fine, now sit down. Dinner is ready,” Red said, serving two bowls full of rice and chicken.
“Thanks for dinner,” Adrien said, sitting down at the bar. He then began to stuff his face with food.
“You’re welcome,” Red said, sitting beside him. She too began to stuff her face with food.
After dinner, Red took their dishes and put them in the dishwasher.
“Now that we have finished eating, we can go train,” Red said. “Wait.” Red looked at Adrien. She looked him up and down.
Adrien stared at Red blankly.
“Are you a shapeshifter?” Red asked.
“Yes,” Adrien said, looking at Red. “Are you?”
“Yes. I guess that’s why the boss made me train you. I’m the only other shapeshifter here. I thought I was the last one to. That is...until...you came,” Red said, folding her arms across her chest.
“I thought I was the last shapeshifter too,” Adrien said, looking surprised.
“Well, guess not. Now let’s go train you for your first mission,” Red said, grabbing her keys to her apartment and clipping it to her belt.
