Never Granted (ORIGINAL)

Ch 6 The Orical pt3

Ch 6 The Orical pt3

Feb 11, 2022

Orion’s POV:

Summer and Shiro split off from the us to go meet up with Knox. We walked through the halls of the guild and finally came to a stop in a hallway with 13 doors with symbols on the door. The first door we went through had a bow and arrow on the door. When we entered the door, the room was empty but a few targets and a white standard looking bow. “Alright Scarlet grab the bow and imbue mana into and fire it at the targets over there.” Atlas pointed at the bow then the targets.

Scarlet walked up to the bow and imbued mana into it, the bow turned silverish white and started to glow when she picked it up. “Where are the arrows?” she turned to look at Atlas who had an eyebrow raised.

“Well looks like you aren't and Archer.” Atlas says. “Now Karmas turn, set down the bow.”

“Wait I didn’t shoot it yet though.” Scarlet confused puts down the bow.

“If you’re an Archer arrows would appear in the bow.” Atlas replied. “And there would be a bow string.”
“Ah I see” Scarlet said walking back.

I walked up and grabbed the bow, it turned pitch black with a whitish silver glow. “How come mine is different from hers.” I asked putting the bow down because it didn’t have a string nor arrows.

“Because it measures your mana and changes color ad glows based on the purity of mana.” Atlas answered. “And it probably glowed white instead of black because your part angel.”

“Wait how did you know I was part angel.” I asked.

“Well, your hair gives it away most demons have dark hair close to black, and angels usually have white or silver hair, so I mixed it then guessed and got it right. There’s also the mana color and glow of the bow.” Atlas answered, leading them to the next room.

The next room had a sword on it, when we entered the room, it had a few training dummies and in the middle was a table with a sword hilt. “Wait so you just guessed?” I asked.

“No more of an estimation, Scarlet do the same thing with the sword hilt.” Atlas replied.

Scarlet grabbed the hilt and it started to glow the same white as the bow. Suddenly a blade appears from what looks like wind but strong and sturdy. “Alright Scarlet, turn and slash at one of the dummies.” Atlas says raising an eyebrow.

Scarlet slashes at the target and it was cut in half, but instead of a clean cut was rigid and rough. “Well, you had potential, but not quite a swordsman.” Atlas says. “Orion, your turn.”

“Wait but the sword came out and I cut the dummy?” Scarlet asked.

“If you look at the dummy the cut wasn’t clean, if you were the swordsman class the cut would be clean.” Atlas replied. “Orion pick up the hilt.”

I went to pick up the hilt when I grabbed it, it didn’t glow there was no blade or anything. I sighed and walked out of the room after we did and walked to the next room with symbols for all five of the elements. I went up to the table in the middle of the room. “The fuck is this? There's nothing?” I looked at Atlas confused.

“If you can control all the elements lightning, water, fire, earth, and air you’re this class.” Atlas answered.
“Then why did we go in this room none of us can do that.” I was annoyed and walked out followed by Atlas and Scarlet.

“Because when you walk into the room it uses the elements.” Atlas answered with a grin.

I sighed

We walked to the next door it had a skull on it. When we entered the room, it smelled terrible like rotting corpses, there were skeletons littered all around the room. “Ew that smells horrible.” Scarlet plugs her nose.
“Both of you find a skeleton and put mana into them.” Atlas instructed.

We both went up to a skeleton and put mana into it or tried but nothing happened. “Alright time to leave.” I and Scarlet said in unison.

We walked to the next room and on the door, there was a symbol of a lock. “Scarlet go infuse mana into the lock on the box.” Atlas said.

Scarlet goes up to the locked box and infused mana into the lock the lock started to glow, and it unlocked when Scarlet opened the box. “Well Scarlet you are a thief.” Atlas smiled.

“Ok what does that mean.” Scarlet asked.

“Well, I'll explain more when you get your Ἥφαιστος” Atlas responded.

“I’m sorry a what?” I asked looking around to make sure furniture didn’t start floating.

“It’s the official name of the watch you get when you join a guild. It displays certain information about you. Like class, name, rank, etc.” Atlas responded. “Alright Orion try the lock.”

I take the lock and imbue mana into it , but nothing happened. “This is so stupid and boring how many doors are left?” I asked annoyed.

“Well, we did a total of 5 so far, and there are 13 classes so.” Atlas replied with a chuckle scratching his head.

“Ahhhhhh, this is going to take forever.” I complained walking out of the room.
We kept on going through the rooms.

Lancer: Wrong

Healer: Wrong

Assassin: Wrong

Mage: Wrong

Summoner: Wrong

Dark or light mage: Wrong

“Ahhhh, do I even have a class.” I yelled as I grabbed at my hair.

“Well, there is one more door.” Atlas said leaving the room.

I sighed as I left and went up to the next door. It had a simple hammer for a symbol, when we walked in there was an iron bar on an anvil. “Just infuse mana into that bar.” Atlas gestured towards the bar.

I walked up to the anvil and infused mana into the bar, it started to glow a frost white then slowly turned pitch black. The bar glowed as it started to change shape, it went to many different abstracts shapes then finally turned into a spoon. “Are you serious?” I asked annoyed. “A spoon, after 3 hours of this bullshit I’m a spoon hunter.”

“Calm down Orion you’re not a spoon hunter you’re a Black Smith, now if you both follow me, I will lead you so you can get your symbol and Ἥφαιστος.” Atlas says walking out of the room.

We followed as they walked through the halls a few people shot glances of envy and anger that we were getting a personal tour from the master. We walked to the front of the guild hall when there was a loud boom coming from the arena. ‘The girls must be getting their rank evaluated’ I thought to myself.

When they stopped, Shiro and Summer came up. “Hey Atlas, Shiro hasn’t gotten her watch or symbol yet so here she is.” Summer said walking away.

Shiro smiled nervously and did a little wave with her hand. “Thanks.”

Atlas signaled them to follow him as they walked to the front desk. “Hey Lydia mind if you take these guys and give them their watches and symbols, please and thank you.” Atlas bowed and started to walk off.

“Hello, can you please fill these out” she handed us a few papers.

“Uhh yeah” I replied grabbing the papers and distributing them between us.

The sheet read:

Name:
Age:
Gender:
Species:
Eye color:
Hair color:
Height:
Ability:
Class:

“So, we just fill this out and sign it or?” I asked reading it looking for any small print.
“Yes, once you activated it with some blood and a fingerprint then imbue mana into an it will register you into our guild.” Lydia responded with a smile.

After about 5 or so minutes they finally finished with the application and turned it in. “Here you go.” we gave her the papers.

When we put our fingerprint at the bottom of the paper and imbued mana into it the paper glowed and disintegrated. I had to imbue mana into the contract for Shiro. “This will still work if it’s my mana, right?” I asked.

“Yep, now if you follow me, we will get you your watches and your guild symbol.” Lydia walked around the counter.

We walked past a few people and went into a room with a fewer people and glass cases that you would normally see in jewelry stores with a bunch of watches on display. “Please choose a watch, they are all free except for the ones with dimensional storage. Those are more expensive the bigger the storage.” Lydia says motioning towards the watches.

“How big is the biggest storage you got?” I asked looking at the watches.

“The biggest one we have can hold a carriage full, with the price of 100 gold coins each.” Lydia answered.

“I guess we will take two and how much or the one that has a small storage?” I asked.

“These ones can hold around a crate full, with the price of 25 gold coins.” Lydia smiled pointing to a row of watches.

“OK Scarlet, pick on from that row, I'll take that one, and Shiro pick one” I pointed towards a pitch black watch with white accents.

Scarlet just went with a red and black watch, and Shiro pointed to a snow white watch with black accents. “That will be 225 gold coins please.” The girl behind the counter looked around Shiro's age and had ash brown hair that went down to her shoulder blades, with light brown eyes and was wearing a white short sleeved shirt with light blue overalls with a bow strung around her shoulder.

“Can you give me a second.” I opened the locket, and a bag of gold coins came out.

I gave the 225 gold coins to the girl behind the counter. She gave use our watches. “Thank you come again.” She said bowing.

“Ok now will you follow me, and we will give you your symbols.” Lydia said walking to the other side of the room.

I was the first to get a symbol. “Where do you want it?” Lydia asked with a stamp looking magic device.
“I guess my right shoulder” I said moving my sleeve to reveal my shoulder.

Lydia put the stamp on my right shoulder, and it glowed for few seconds then she lifted the stamp to reveal a weird looking symbol that was pitch black. “Next.” Lydia announced.

“U-uhh I’ll take it on my right hand.” Shiro stuttered, giving Lydia her hand.

She did the same, put the stamp on her hand, it glowed but the symbol was white outlined black. Scarlet was next. She put her on the left side of her hip, and it was a ruby red. “Welcome to the guild.” Lydia bowed before walking out of the room.

“Well, now we are officially in the guild.” I shrugged walking out of the door bumping into someone on the way out. “Oh, shit sor--”

“Ew I got this peasant shit on me, Yahiko get this twerp out of my way, so I can leave this sorry excuse for a guild.” A boy that looks about a year older than me says wiping the “Shit” of his shirt, at a closer glance it was the boy that was almost killed by Jack.

“But sir Akio you're in this guild, by your fathers ord---” The one named Yahiko who wore snow white armor with black hair with dark blue eyes was interrupted.

“You are not to call me by my first name, and I meant leave the building not the guild you dumb sack of rocks.” The boy named Akio yelled at Yahiko.

“Sorry sir Asami, I will work on my intelligence.” Yahiko bowed but you can clearly see that he is irritated.

“Jeez I'm sorry Mr. Salami I'll get out of your way.” I said moving out of the way with a smirk.

“HOW DARE YOU INSULT SIR ASAMII.” One of the guards boomed charging Karma.

“Thats enough.” Yahiko said stopping the guard in his tracks. “Sorry for my masters behavior. Let's go sir Asamii.”

“Jeez what a bitch.” I chuckled and looked at Scarlet for confirmation.

She nodded.

“Well after that I’m gonna go look for an inn, wanna come I can pay for the first month until we can go on some quests.” I said walking out of the guild hall.
