Chapter 10- Little Snake

Chapter 10- Little Snake

Feb 14, 2022

A serpent-looking blue and white scaled dragon with furs throughout some specific parts of its body is currently floating in front of the boy.

She, because of the fact that it has a deep-raspy voice of a female-like being, is a deity of the seas that likes to soar at the skies, most especially on a night where a full moon resides.

... Well, believed to be like that by the human ancestors in this specific part of the world, that is.

But still, with enough origin and an imaginable genesis, she formed to what she is now, the Bakunawa.

Unlike the humans, her origin is not from being born as a Stage 0 Vessel which is passed down from living beings from generation to generation. So like the others as well, she directly went to being considered as a Stage 1 Vessel, being already in what was said to be a "spiritual" form that is born to be able to perceive physical reality but not really be able to be perceived by the ones that are on physical reality itself.

So as to speak, just like a ghost wandering around some parts of the world.

Unnecessary information because you already know about this, right, my dear Vessels?

Anyway, what I had just talked about is what she had also described herself to the boy.

"But well, that's supposed to be my introduction," she then said as she looks again to him, "but you defied it just merely by seeing me, human."

The boy staring at the sleeping puppy, he still hasn't seen the current face that the deity had made.

A face of a mighty being that is so curious. Lenses of the eyes focusing greatly and directly to the boy only, all she thought about inside her mind is: 'Interesting...'

She somehow realized that it's rude to ask about his powers. Because in the first place, the boy hasn't even asked a single thing about her yet. Well, except for the nonsense questions earlier, that is...

Eventually.

"Human, are you still going to keep standing still while staring at that... creature?" the deity then said to the boy as her gaze turned and focuses on the sleeping puppy. "Isn't it odd?"

"Yeah, I know it's strange for the other humans that are passing." The boy then replied as he then looks around his surroundings.

The first thing that he realized is none other than the stolen gazes of the passerby people.

Looking left and right, and back to the sleeping puppy again.

Then again, people passing around the sidewalk of the street keep staring at him, wondering about what is happening to him.

Seeing nothing at the place where the boy currently is staring at, some of them began to think that he might have mental issues. Some wants to call him, some stopped caring at all, and some felt pity for him.

But for the boy himself, he didn't even care about what the others thought about him at all.

At most, it can be said that he is currently computerizing inside his mind the best possible way for his next move to be the best passionless progress.

... At least he's passionate about being passionless. Not like someone who keeps sleeping as I said the word "dumbfounded".

Just like that, three seconds passed and he already then found the best progress.

"Let's wait for him to be awake." he declared

"Him? What is that... creature again?" the deity replied with a thought in mind.

"He's what you call a puppy." the boy answered, "His name is Espiridion." as he responded while still staring at him, having not that empty but not that full of thought.

The deity turned away while her eyes are closed, "Hmph~ I don't care about his name. I just wanted to know what lowly creature it is." as she continued with a bitter expression, even if she's not conscious that what she had just said was actually pretty hurtful if I were the puppy, that is...

Also, she already knew that the puppy is dead, since earlier as she gazed at it in a tedious way, she noticed a white fire above it.

"Well, even being dead, that... what is it again? Patty, right?" she then asked for a reconfirmation.

"..."

'She forgot it that easily.' the boy then remarked to himself. 'Oh well, not like it's annoying.'

He then spoke out, "... Yes, it is called a puppy. I had just said it ea-"

"Yes, that creature called a puppy is still uninteresting for me." but the deity then continued to state her thoughts with words once more as she interrupted the boy's sentence.

"..." Yet still, no anger nor any other hard emotions from the boy have blossomed as compensation.

At the time the deity opened its large serpent-dragon mouth to make a conversation with the boy again...

"So how long do you think i-"

suddenly.

"Pwha!! Wh-What happened? I just had a dream where a little snake said something~~" the Siba Inu puppy, named Espiridion then yelled out loud as he had unexpectedly woke up from its short-timed slumber.

"A little snake?" the boy followed.

"Yeah. A blue little snake said I'm uninteresting as it crawled towards my unmovable body."

The boy realized who it was talking about. 'Blue little snake that said you're uninteresting, huh...' he then stated to himself as he looks at the deity. "Blue little snake..."

The deity was dense as well. "Well, what are you staring for, human?"

She as well heard what the puppy had said. But unlike the boy and like the puppy, she's dense as well.

Not realizing what the puppy had talked about because, in the first place, she found it boring, the puppy really is lucky, too lucky indeed that even I find it quite a five-clover-leaf of a finding...

Once more, the boy hypothesized for a second and then made a great decision. Of course, it is no other than to keep it silent. To keep his mouth shut about that topic will certainly be the best passionless conclusion.

"... Oh, nothing." he replied to the deity, "Now that he woke up, I think the two of us shall go. Farewell," as he responded and began to walk on the sidewalk.

The puppy followed as well. Currently lacking the feeling of fear and anxiety, it then followed the boy, walking behind his footsteps as it wiggled its curly furry tail with such carefreeness currently residing in him.

Once more, someone then tries to change the tides all of a sudden.

"W-Wait, human named Valentin Nobez!!" the deity's raspy deep voice echoed steadily loudly to the ears of the boy, making it look more than just a direct approach.

The boy looked back again, stared from below the deity's floating serpent-dragon towards her eyes full of fiery curiosity, likely equal to opening Pandora's box as an exaggeration.

"... Well? What is it?" he asked the impatient deity, 'I know where's this going already...' and spoke to himself as a follow-up.

Her dragon eyes shining splendidly like a fall of stars showering nonstop in their pupils, it certainly is close to what you call an obsession.

Obsession? How can a "deity" be that interested in such a lowly being to the point that you can even call it obsession?

Well, she certainly is not doing something wrong because the boy is not a lowly being himself. Can call him even a higher being than the deity itself... if he is me, knowing such a thing about his law-breaking power.

The deity wants to say something, but she clicked her long thin snake tongue, realizing that what she'll do is actually just like asking for a favor to such a lowly being when she herself is a deity.

But then, all of a sudden, she clearly remembered again that the boy is something like an entity stuck in a lowly being's body.

So not being low while not being high as well; thinking that they are equal, rationalizing it to be like that, the deity finally found a solution.

And it is to form a bond. Where their bond is to be together which one of the other is not a slave and neither an owner nor leader as well. But a bond only works if the dimension level of the two is the same.

So what is actually happening here?

... She is just too dense, indeed. No, I mean stupid.

The deity thinks of the boy as an equal to her. Not higher, not lower. But rather than that, she forgot that the boy is still not even staged as her yet despite having to see her. Although she realized that him being able to see her means that the boy is somewhat In equal to her, she hasn't thought of another possibility where the boy is certainly unusual.

What I'm saying is that her big serpent-dragon brain hasn't dug up to a crucial question that contradicts two courses of possible pathways.

Either if the boy's power to see beings that are past a human's limited capability to perceive, or that he can just see her.

Yes. She's already fully interested in the boy and his power even if in accordance with her current knowledge about it only. Not even bringing up the thought of: Is he god because he is currently the only human that can see me? Or even: Is there someone higher than me that only he can see but not me, nor the others that are on the same level of perception as me, can be able to?

... If some of you are dense as well, my dear Vessels, that you can't even understand what I'm saying, then I shall describe two words about her that even the puppy can understand: Careless and Dense.

Yes!!!

Anyway, going back to the boy, he is now leaning his head at one side, standing still again while staring at the deity.

"So? Why are you silent? What is it, Bakunawa?"

"... I want the two of us to form a bond."

A bond, simply, is a made-up type of ability by her origin; by the ones who had believed in her at old times themselves. The ability is made just because the people at that time really just wanted to see her, their deity, so they believed her to have an ability like this.

Well, at that time, the deity thought it was a hindrance and already unnecessary, she never has used it either way.

In some ways, even if she did, like what I had said already, there's a universal law of existence where the lower dimensional staged being will forget about the occurrence of seeing a being with a higher dimensional stage.

Either way, now that she will finally make its use, she actually forgot where this power of hers came from.

"Human named Valentin Nobez, touch my forehead," she instructed the boy as she lowers her head enough for the boy to reach.

The boy thinks that it is unnecessary yet not tiring. So not thinking too much about it if it's dangerous or not, as expected already, he acted upon from the instruction he was just given to.

He began to raise his hand out of thin air, going into a formation like touching or patting someone's head, even if there's no such heads currently in his front at all.

As he touched the head of the deity, he was then blinded by a light that formed through a mirror-liked dragon-like structure.

And all of a sudden, something had changed.

"Wha-What the sea is this?!" a deep-raspy voice of a female-like being was then heard by the currently blinded boy.

Female-like being? More like from a woman...

"WHY AM I TURNED INTO A LOWLY HUMAN?!!" as this... dragon-turned-female human then shouted, enraged.

----------------------------------
The puppy hadn't realized that the boy stopped walking since earlier already and continued to walk while still wiggling its tail.

*Whoosh~ Whoosh~~ Whoosh~~~* the wiggling of his tail became faster and faster.

Suddenly.

"Look Tin, I can wiggle my tail so fa-" as the puppy said to "Tin" while in motion of looking towards "Tin".

"Huh? Where are..." But this "Tin" is already nowhere to be found.

"Wh-Wghahghaghat?!"

And so, the puppy was left dumbfounded, again.

But unlike earlier, he is a running stone right now...

It was the first day of the third-year high school student Valentin Nobez, but for him, is just a standard, typical, passionless day. Lack of interest in things. Love? Passion? Goal? What about them? They are just nothing in his mind, not even a single wondering moment about his future. Everything just seems average for him, "normal" grades, "normal" family, "normal" looks, "normal" life. Everything just seems... normal, that’s it- is what he usually tapes himself with as he walks on the street towards the school.

He seems fine with it though, not even asking for something fun. A Diety, Vessel, and friend of god of Earth, coincidentally looks upon him below, sighed as he finally figured out that the boy is another one that wasn’t given a story in life by his lazy friend. Being interested and feeling sorry for the boy, he then granted the boy something that will give him a story that he hadn’t even wished to have. Something fun, something great, and something worth living for. The thing; the key to unlocking the story; the power to see anything beyond what humans thought was a limited reality. This is the story of a boy that can see the other side of the world already, gifted by an unknown being passing through the cosmos faster than the speed of light, the gift… is none other than the Unliving Eyes.
