This was written the night our hotel caught fire at almost midnight. The alarms went off but no one told us anything, and when we asked they brushed us aside like we were nothing. We were living out of suitcases and had to leave our meager belongings inside while we didn't know if everything we had was gone or not.
And just like that… my whole perspective changed. I honestly said "Fuck that" and went back inside grabbing all the things that meant the most to me and came back out to the protests of those around me.
Because LIKE HELL would I let something like that destroy the last piece of normalcy I have left in the world.
LIKE… HELL.
