|Chapter 2|
Violent waves crashed onto the rocks covered in blood. The ocean wahsed away most of the blood beofre it could stain. A young girl probably only ten years of age, braids the colour of fresh snow gently moving in the wind. Dark lavender gloomy eyes glance around the bloodbath as a frown grows on her face.
Mountain that reaches for the sky surrounds the cosy little bay blocking out lookers from the beautiful view of the cove. Tree swayed in the breeze as the duaghter sang the lullaby to all the predators in the dark.
“Flowers glow on all night,
May your soul rest tonight,
Burn all those who that have no clue,
Make them all so blue.”
Monsters lurk in the shadows as they listen to the sweet tone as they move along to the beat. Her voice was filled with magic.
Even though the shadows could tear the throat of children that lurk too close to their home. She knew they wouldn’t attack her; she did just give them a feast. They had made a small bond over time which was nice. She would help lure their prey and tell her all they see and hear.
She had no family, no friends to call her own, well expect the shadows. Death has been about of her life for so long but her heart still felt ache at it. It was karma, wasn’t it? On her mother's side she was a powerful witch who could destroy many lands. And on her father's side she was sirens that led many to the bottomless pit of the ocean.
She didn’t mind if people call her a monster or demon. She knew what she was, and she would never be able to change that fact.
Suddenly, she leaps up and heads toward the darkness that had become her home. The shadows welcome her back, as she wanders further into the tree line as the large pine trees loomed over her. Bushes and other trees started to grow leaves again after the hard winter before.
Slowly, making her way back to the village she picked up some herbs hidden in the forest. There weren't too many, but it would be enough to buy some food. It hasn’t been so long since she arrived at the village.
She stumbled upon the village only a few months ago. An old lady had been very welcoming but when the lady asked her named, she panicked and blurted out Celest. So, now her name is Celest the errand girl of the village. She was happy as you could get with her situation. Everything was so what peaceful for her, if you don’t count the shadows lurking in the forest.
She soon reached a small fishing village off the coast of the Creal Ocean. Lanterns still illuminating the dirty cold streets, not a noise could be heard. Weird, she thought as she slowed and hid in the shadows. You can never be too careful. Even when the moon is at its peak the drunken men and shout all night long.
When she smelt the ever so similar scent of blood made her freeze to the spot. Her eyes darted around to find the source of the smell, every second making her heart spike. Blood covered walls and corpses littered the floors. She only left for a few hours.
She instantly knew this wasn’t the work of a human. Shown by the sense of magic in the air; though some humans have magic this was denser. It also had the aura of vampiric taste to the aura. And she knew it wasn’t the creatures in that dark, they knew not to mess with her village. Corpses of the kind villagers she made sure didn’t ever fall upon the shadows. She stood her ground as she continued to find the slaughter.
Speaking of the devil, a tall figure marched down the bloody street with long darken blades in both of his hands. Midnight black hair sloppy pulled into a ponytail revealing silver eyes with a tint of blue. His skin was more tanned though it looks like he hadn’t seen the sun in years. Painfully, he grew closer and closer; she was no fool she would not be able to take down the man.
“Come out of hiding!” His voice was not as deep as she thought it would be. She still hides in the darkness watching the man like a crow. She bites down on her lip until the sweet liquid fills her taste buds.
“If you come out now, I’ll spare your life,” his voice betrayed him as blood lust filled his every word. She let out a giggle that made even the older man freeze and darted around to find her. Even if she died, she wouldn’t make it easy for him.
“My, my what are you doing here, vampire.” She added a bit too much malice than she meant to, but it hit a nerve. He frowned his brows and straightened up more and murder intent seeped through the air.
‘I’m so fucked’.
