“You messed with him,” Jayden asked, looking at me very seriously. 

“No, we're family. As far as I know I would never cheat on you.” “You don’t trust me?” I asked him to lean closer as he massaged my hair. He sighed and put his forehead against me. I smelt mint coming from his mouth and my muscles relaxed. 

        “I do. He was just looking at you in some type of way.” He said and kissed me he wrapped his hand around my waist and bit my lip. I sighed as he explored my mouth. 

“I missed you, I wish you would’ve come with me.” Jayden whispered as I pushed him back mad that he brought up the same argument I told him to drop. 

“You know I couldn’t come, I didn't want to leave my mom and brother.” He sighed and bit my lip. 

“I wanted to chain your arms and drag you with me.” “I care less about them than you.” He grabbed me and walked out the orientation room empty as they walked past them and beat their chest with pride. 

“Mr. Connor, Mrs. Cold Mrs. Connor requests your presence in the mainframe.” Said a girl who looked young, like twelve years old. 

“Thank you, Kyle you can head back to your sector.” He told her and kept walking. We heard a loud thud and immediately Jayden pulled me in a corner in the wall. He took out his gun and waited. People started running and screaming his walkie talkie had turned on. 

“Were under attack everybody follows the procedure don’t get caught let your courage guide you!” it went off and Jayden had thrown it as smoke emitted from it. 

“Let go of me you traitor I trusted you!” I heard my brother's voice screaming down the hall. I saw them come up as Alexis was dragging him with another man next to them helping. She pulled her hair back and sighed. 

“Me a traitor wow that’s just funny I should be saying that to my brother he was planning on leaving us then now he’s joining this dump like they’re going to win the war. They’re not, they didn’t last time and not now I gave you a choice to love me and be free you said no so now I’m taking you against your will.” As they kept on walking, I tried to go get Tod but Jayden held me back and was covering my mouth. 

“Good job Alexis. Emma and Tyler this is your last time to come out!” he yelled at us he looked around and laughed. “Burn it to the ground, everything else is trash.” He said to them as they walked away and back up the elevator. 

June and Tyler came out running calling our names and Jayden had to pull. I didn't think I couldn’t breathe. My life was snatched. I'm dreaming he will come back and my heart will beat once more right he won't leave me. 

“Right!” I yelled as everybody stared at me and Jayden held me in his arms. 

“I can't, I'm going to die, I need him please, I can't, oh god.” Pain erupted through my chest and my body had tightened. I spat up blood and screamed in pain. My eyes no longer saw color. 

“Tod please no. Tod you can’t. Tod you promised I promise comeback!” My body started shaking as I was choking on the blood everybody screaming behind me. The pain I deserved it I craved it I wanted it I needed it. He was my fire and they put it out. Now I'm just a cold girl.
