Chapter 1- New Beginnings
*Yawn* Is it morning time already? I thought as I sheepishly walked over to my bathroom. Where is my toothbrush now? Damn that little rascal, "NATHAN!!! WHERE IS MY TOOTH BRUH!?" That little brat was nowhere in sight.
"Yes, sissy?" Nathan replied in a calm voice
"Don't you dare 'yes sissy me.' This is the third time this week my toothbrush has gone missing". I was short-tempered as I had a test today.
"I don't know, but mom made breakfast, then she took off to work. You'll have to eat it at school".
I grumpily stomped over to the table to grab my toast to head off. I remembered a new girl was transferring today. I walked to school as usual as I would every day, but for some reason, something felt different in a way. What could it be? The fact that I didn't brush my teeth?
"Hey Diana, wait up."
That's my friend, Blossom. I never liked how high energy she was. It never made sense to me how energetic she was at 8:00 am.
"Blossom, what time did you go to bed?"
"12:00 am like always. Nana, I thought you knew that" She said with a high-pitched laugh. Yup, just as I thought she isn't human. I mean, I couldn't do that, could I? Stay up till 12 and still be high energy.
"I thought I told you not to call me Nana, Blossom," I scowled, continuing to walk.
"Sorry, but I like it. It sounds so cool".
Nope, the only cool thing here is this breeze. I wonder what the new girl would be like, hopefully, nothing like this idiotic beam of light.
We were almost at the entrance to the school when I saw an expensive-looking car pull up to the school. I wondered why, since no houses were that far away. The person who got out looked like no one I knew, and that's a statement since this town is so remote.
"Nana, who's that? I don't think I know them."
I swear if this girl calls me Nana one more time, I'm going to lose it. But anyway, that is a good question. Who is that girl?
As Blossom and I entered the building like always, it was sprawling with screeches and whispers. I wasn't exactly sure why.
"Hey. Dian! Hey Blossom!"
A voice called from behind me. My back became rigid as Takahashi jumped on me. It was a force of habit. He had been doing this since 2nd grade. We are sophomores in high school now.
Even more, people started erupting in whispers, pointing and looking behind my shoulder. I turned around and saw the girl. She was somewhat short, had long black hair, and wore a plaid mini skirt and expensive-looking loafers. The type that you had to turn a blind eye to because the price was revolting.
She didn't look shocked or bothered at the number of kids looking at her. I saw one of the snobbiest-looking guys walk over to her, smirking.
He put his hand on her shoulder, leaned down, and started sweet-talking in her ear.
The girl's face went from blank to disgusted. She brought a knee up and socked him in the stomach effortlessly. The arrogant jerk fell on his hands and knees, screaming in pain.
Weirdly, she looked strong. I don't have a clue on how to explain it. Right when I was about to turn and walk away, she caught me practically gawking at her.
She lent a sly smirk at me, it was suttle, but I caught a glimpse of it. She was completely ignoring the two other people standing next to me.
"Hello there."
Her voice sounded incredibly silky and kind.
"Hi."
I replied, trying not to maintain eye contact. ~RIIIIIIING~. Thank god. The bell saved me. The expected rush of students started as kids walked into their respective classes, but it was kind of different. I felt as if I was breathing heavily.
"Nana, hurry up. Did you forget we are in class 4C or something?" Blossom chuckled."
"Of course, I didn't forget I'll be there in a second,"
Thoughts flooded into my mind about what was going on, eventually pushing them aside.
I looked up to see the letter and number 4C.
As I sluggishly walked into the class with my head held high to the ceiling, I sighed.
"Alright, class, I told you guys to study, and as I promised, we have our Math Test today, so put away your notebooks and calculators and get ready."
TWO HOURS LATER
“That damn test took forever, uhhhgg”, I said under my breath.
“Cheer up Nana! It wasn’t that bad”, Blossom said, almost screaming.
“Man that wasn’t fair at all, I wasn't ready for a math test”, Takahashi said, as he folded his hands and rested them upon his head. It was happening again. My breath felt heavy but I know it wasn't just me this time I knew Takahashi had felt it too. I looked over at Blossom.
She stood stiff, as if she had forgotten something but it was different in a way even though she looked downwards it was as if she was scouting the area.
I heard of supernatural powers however I never thought they were real, I heard something whizzing through the air *Nanda(WHAT)?!?* as i jotted my head to the side to look for what was coming towards me right to my eye socket before i knew it…..
