Nikay, like the simple-minded woman she is, didn’t think much of it. And as my hands left Ivy, a familiar stout hand fills her place.
“I never thought of seeing you here with someone else.” She broke the silence with this sentence. And my heart shattered with every land of her words.
I almost said that I didn’t expect to see her this time around but opted not to. I couldn’t believe all that time I thought she was gone, she was still alive afterall, we just aren’t destined to meet but fuck destiny now that I have her, I won’t lose her another time.
“Is this your first instance?” I asked curiously.
“Not really,” she shrugged. “We’ve been to a house atop a mountain before.” She said as she points to some of our classmates. That said when Ivy and I first came here, Nikay wasn’t the only one who stared daggers at us.
Charles did too and he’s now at the corner scolding Ivy. “I couldn’t believe you,” he says. “Isn’t it enough for you to reject me? Why are you still hung up on chasing someone who ain’t interested at you?!” “Stop it. You’re hurting me.” Hearing that Charles immediately drew back his hand on Ivy’s shoulders like the well trained dog he is, always at the beck-and-call of the person dear to his heart.
“I’m just worried you know,” Nikay started. “When I saw you both being cozy to each other, I thought to myself that alast, you still have feelings for her... that made me kinda sad.”
“Don’t be. I no longer have feelings for her. I rejected her already.”
With that her droopy eyes once more regained their radiance. “Really?” She asked as if she couldn’t believe it. “Then I’m the only person in your heart now ain’t I?”
“Yes” and no, there’s someone else who’s in here but I wouldn’t want Nikay to know that, would I?
“Don’t worry.” I assured her once more. “You’ll be the only one here from now on.” And with a broken heart I swore to stand by my words.
