Bethany walked up the steps to the Grand Celler Hotel with Ethan holding her hand and a suitcase. Bethany and Ethan walked inside the hotel and headed towards the counter.
“Good evening,” the lady said cheerfully, her dark brown hair bouncing in her bun.
“Hi. We would like to get two rooms, please,” Ethan said.
“Oh. I’m sorry honey. We only have one room left with one bed,” the lady said, meaning what she said.
Ethan looked at Bethany. “Is that ok with you?” Ethan asked Bethany. Bethany nodded. “We’ll take it then.”
The lady handed Ethan the keys and then said, “You can pay in the morning.”
“Thank you,” Ethan said.
“Third floor, fourth door on the right,” the lady said as Bethany and Ethan walked towards the stairs.
“Thanks,” Bethany said.
A few minutes later, Bethany and Ethan walked onto the third floor and found their room.
“Here it is,” Ethan said, finding the room with the matching number on the key. Ethan inserted the key in the lock and turned the knob.
Ethan walked into the room and set the suitcase down. Bethany set her suitcase down next to Ethan’s.
“You can take a shower first,” Ethan said.
“Ok,” Bethany said, grabbing her clothes out of the suitcase and heading towards the bathroom.
After Bethany finished showering, she walked over to Ethan sitting on the bed reading a book.
“You’re turn,” Bethany said, kissing Ethan on the cheek.
“Ok, thanks,” Ethan said, putting a bookmark in his book. Ethan got off the bed and grabbed his things. He then headed to the bathroom and shut the door.
“That was odd,” Bethany said. “He didn’t kiss me before going to take a shower.”
Bethany sat down on the bed and began brushing her red hair. She then braided her hair into a single braid.
After Bethany finished braiding her hair, Ethan came out of the bathroom and put his clothes on the floor in the corner of the room.
“Are you ok?” Bethany asked Ethan.
“Yeah,” Ethan said, brushing his fingers through his wet hair.
“Come here. I know you’re not fine,” Bethany said, gesturing to the seat beside her.
Ethan sat down next to Bethany and slumped against her.
“Aww. You wanna talk about it?” Bethany asked.
“I’m just worried about Nick,” Ethan said, sighing.
“I know. He’s ok. I talked to the nurse and she said he should be out of the hospital in two days,” Bethany said, kissing Ethan on the head.
“Thanks. I needed that,” Ethan said, sitting up a little, but still rested his head on Bethany’s shoulder.
“You’re welcome. I love you,” Bethany said.
“I love you too,” Ethan said sitting all the way up. Ethan then grabbed Bethany’s face and pulled it close to his, their noses touching. Ethan then planted a soft kiss on Bethany’s lips.
“What would I do without you?” Ethan said, breaking the kiss.
“You’d be sad and lonely,” Bethany said teasingly. Ethan snickered.
“Well. . .we better get some sleep,” Bethany said, yawning.
Ethan and Bethany climbed into bed, burying themselves within the sheets. Bethany shivered as she got under the cold blankets. Ethan was on the other side of the bed all cuddled up. Bethany reached out and grabbed Ethan’s hand. Ethan then turned to face Bethany.
“Are you cold?” Ethan asked, feeling Bethany’s frozen fingers in his warm hands.
Bethany nodded. “Come here,” Ethan said, taking Bethany into his arms and placing his head on hers. Bethany cuddled close against Ethan’s warm chest and closed her eyes, letting sleep take her away.
