Begonia, Begonia,
Pink Carnation, I’m sorry my love,
Your a Daisy, and I took your Dandelions
“Go on. I’ll be here. Probably.” Huffed ---------'s Mother, leaning against a wall, taking a swing of whisky. --------- grinned, sprinting off, shoving the doors open rushing into the brightly coloured room.
Animatronics, toys and play equipment lined the rooms, with long party tables with party hats and paper plates. There were streamers and balloons, a place that would excite any 4 to 12 year olds, but even though --------- was 16 she was hyped up.
She was barely let out of the house, let alone allowed to go to a place like this!! It was so pretty! --------- was bouncing on the spot, she was so excited, wide sparkly blue and steel eyes flickering around. She whirled around, purple and pink mist with sparkles, giggling.
She ran around, exploring and interacting with everything and everyone, beaming wide grey teeth, giddily talking. She ate cake and pizza AND lollies, it was the most fun she had ever had in a long time!
She didn’t question it when a sweet man in a sweeping white coat with a hood concealing most of his head offered her a lolly and told her about a brand new animatronic that he wanted to show her, and bonus points, she was the only one allowed to see it!!! She heartily agreed, like, who wouldn’t?! Hyper on sugar and near vibrating from excitement, --------- took the lolly and followed the man.
“So where is it? Did you make the ones outside too???” --------- asked politely, not noticing the man locking the door of the back room door behind them. “Yes I did, and don’t worry you’ll see it soon enough.” The man chimed, smugly smirking as his steel platform boots clicked on the floor behind ---------.
“Okie! I can wait, I don’t mind!!” --------- chirped, rocking on the balls of her feet. She caught sight of the sweeping white coat and turned, beaming excitedly but then her eyes fell onto a glittering metal item clutch in the man's hands. A knife.
--------- swallowed, growing weary. “Sir?” She said in a soft scared voice. “If you wanna see the robot, hold still.” The man said with a cocky grin, and raised the knife suddenly and sharply brought it down in a swing motion.
In a surge of panic, --------- pivoted and moved, launching to the left. The knife caught the back of her leg, easily slicing through her blue polka dotted leggings and into her calf. --------- screamed as white hot pain brought tears to her eyes, kicking her good leg in hopes of getting away.
The man grunted, holding the knife, which glistened with blood, and started tugging his coat off, the hood falling off to display rotating rusty coloured fox-like ears. The coat fluttered to the floor and nine sweeping fox tails uncurled, slick with a seeping dark red fluid. He rolled his shoulders, smiling wickedly.
Bloodhound. ---------’s mind whispered, and her fear was quick to triple, cornered and nursing her bleeding leg. “Time to die darling~” rumbled the Bloodhound, baring shining white teeth. The Bloodhound lunged, pinning one of ---------’s arms down before she could get away.
There was a squelching, wet noise that seemed to fill the room and ---------’s ability to scream was violently ripped from her. She choked and gasped, tears streaming down her face, eyes wide in shock. The Bloodhound sighed hot breath blooming across ---------’s shoulder, twisting the knife embedded in her chest, bubbling and seeping, dying her baby blue T-shirt a bloody crimson.
“This is my favourite bit.” Whispered the Bloodhound. “Do you know why?” He removed the knife, watching the blood drizzle down ---------’s shaking body. He traced his finger down her neck, searching for something. --------- couldn’t answer, choking out blood as one of her lungs failed and filled with the liquid. It hurt so bad!!! “Each one I kill, their expressions…. Are always… always slightly different. And the aftermath… where you will be too in-hazed to notice as I place the final piece to my perfect creation. After all, nothing's perfect without life…. And to achieve life, you need death.”
His fingers, too hot, burned against ---------’s skin like newly born embers, paused over her collarbone, a knowing smirk on his face. --------- was heaving now, chest raggedly raising and falling in panic, in desperation for something she knew would not come to her. Mercy. Please, it hurt it hurt it hurt so so so much please- warm wet filled her gapping, gasping mouth, blood dribbling from her lips to spill. The Bloodhound pressed his red stained knife to connecting collarbones, just over a skin deep glowing muscle, flickers and splutters of deep cosmic purple light.
--------- began to feel her body crumble, literally, into ash. Tartarus…. That's where she would be taken, if she was slaughtered. Please, please, please just slaughter me and- …… but… did she want to go to Tartarus? It wasn’t the nicest place, apparently according to those unfortunate enough to go there. She was blurring out of life, she didn't realise what the Bloodhound was doing until there was a pinch of pain on the collarbones, and ---------'s panic came rushing back. Her Life-Force!!!!
He wasn't- was he? Sending her to Tartarus was enough, wasn't it???? She didn't get it- she was always good, she always tried- why was this happening to her!? She didn’t want to die. She tried speaking, but only a sick gurgling echoed in her throat. But…. What was there to lose? Her mother, always growling through cigarettes and whisky bottles- her father, glued to a poker table and so high he could touch the clouds? Her brother? Snapping alligator for a personality, locking himself in his room all day?
But…. there was someone…. Hazy…… the world was blurring, rolling off each other in waves, black dots swirling around, around, around……. And then- nothing. The world fragmented for a minute and then collapsed in, darkened, leaving --------- feeling like she was floating- no, falling. She could see nothing but the shimmers of silver lines of… her body? For a second she fell into peaceful darkness. Was she dead? Nothing….. Nothing…… nothing…..
And then something. A flicker, a flame catching light in her soul, which then carried…. Fury. --------- normally never got angry, just obediently agreeing and smiling and nodding and ALWAYS AGREEING. It wasn't fair! IT WAS NOT FAIR! She was the NICEST person and it was HER to be KILLED!!!! HOW IN THE SECOND MOON WAS THAT FAIR?????? A glimmer, a spec of light appeared in ---------'s darkness. YOU KNOW WHAT??? TO HELL WITH THIS!
TO HELL WITH HER MOTHER,
TO HELL WITH HER FATHER,
TO HELL WITH HER BROTHER,
TO HELL WITH THAT FUCKING JACKASS THAT KILLED HER,
TO HELL WITH EVERYONE! THEY COULD ALL GO DIE, SHE. HAD. ENOUGH!!!!!!!
Light engulfed ---------, and then there was nothing once more.
