The Omega Test

Rouge's Attack (1/2)

Rouge's Attack (1/2)

Feb 25, 2022

Jayden, Knox and Lake!

They walked up and sat uncomfortably at the low table, I snickered at them. They talked in whispers arguing with each other about the chairs. I held up mine and they stared at me then sat on the floor more comfortable.

“It’s strange seeing you now,” Lake said as he laid on his arms across from me.

“Yeah, like an Omega-Born,” Jayden smiled as she sat on my right.

“It’s nice to see,” Knox said on my left and stared at Jayden with a frown. I missed hearing them.

“You were always on guard but now you look more at home here,” Lake stretched out his arms towards me. I didn’t miss the sad tone in his voice, “You planning on staying?”

“No,” I said a bit loudly appauld by the very thought of staying in this environment where I'm scared that I’ll squish one of the Omega-Born’s. Or get yelled at for something that wasn’t fit for an Omega-Born. “I want to go back to training, here I feel trapped. I can’t go out to hunt until I’m 15, I can’t train properly here without hurting someone that runs into me. Growling is practically forbidden here and the Instructors are either condescending or rude. I hate it here.”

The last few days showed me that I am no longer an Omega-Born but it also showed me that I’m not Alpha-Born either. I growled softly to release some of my frustration and the Omega Instructor shushed me.

One thing I’ll miss from here is the kind pets I’ve received. Much to Justice’s disapproval to anything soft. He says that I’ve let my guard down too much if the Alpha’s before me had noticed.

“Sorry... I-I thought you would have like it here more,” Lake said looking even more sad.

“Yeah, you don’t have to get mad at us,” Jayden growled, “We did this for you. Because you are an Omega-Born.”

“Stop,” Knox growled staring down Jayden in a Challenge. Jayden looked away from both me and Knox but still growled. “He’s Omega-Born, yes. But have you seen any one as strong as him? If not for Alpha then the Alpha Den would still be in shambles. He’s proven to us multiple times that he’s stronger than any of us put together. Yet you still treat him like a weakling? That he can’t do anything other than Omega-Born things? He’s our Alpha. Respect that.”

“Right... forgot. Sorry I shouldn’t...” Lake continued to stumble over his words, “sorry.”

“He doesn’t have to get mad about it,” Jayden said, “we were doing Him a favor.”

“You two need to be in here not Alpha,” Omega Instructor said from her desk. “I can see why Alpha was so coarse, he’s surrounded by Alpha’s like you.”

“Quiet, Omega-” Jayden started but Knox stopped her.

“Living among Alpha’s that show no form of kindness, he’s tolerated that kind of behavior for far too long in my opinion. He’s a far kinder soul than any Alpha I know.”

“Sit down Omega-” Jayden growled but again was stopped from speaking further.

“So the main source of toxicity shows itself, no wonder Alpha’s walls are so high. He doesn’t feel safe around any of you.” It was surprising that this Omega Instructor, after just two days of knowing me, knew so much.

Jayden stood growling trying to get away from Knox, “Sit. Down. Omega.”

I stood and growled ready to put myself between the two, “Stop threatening My Pack.”

Knox stood grabbing Jayden then hauling her out the door. Lake remained quiet but sat closer to me as I sat back down after assessing the situation.

Lake wasn’t a threat.

“I realized that living with Alpha’s is difficult... I tried my best to make you feel like you can be an Omega around me but I guess that fell though hard.” Lake said as he watched his hands lace together in different positions, “It was stupid with how I handled it, I thought I was making you feel strong but instead made you feel weak. I’m sorry.”

“Dealing with all of you was tiring, especially when you come to me injured. I hope Knox is tearing Jayden apart cause if he’s not then I will.” I growled in frustration, “You I’ll forgive. You and Knox were the least frustrating to deal with after 3 years. Jayden and Salem kept trying to use their pheromone’s to control me. Maybe I should have went wolf on them a long time ago-”

I was wrapped in a hug and Lake’s calming scent surrounded me like a mist. I growled at him for it but let it calm me down. There was no ulterior intent behind it but Justice thought otherwise. It didn’t bother me since I grew mostly immune to it but Justice thought it was weak that I would allow it to affect me.

“Better?”

“No,” I growled at him, “A temporary fix is just that temporary. Even being here is of no use to me, it just confuses me. I’m stronger than a normal Omega-Born but still a weak Alpha. I’m not even sure where I belong here.”

“You belong right where you are, stronger than any Alpha I ever know, caring and forgiving than any Omega here. You make us feel safe, you take care of us just like you say you would when you said that is what an Elite Omega does. We want nothing more than to help you be more, to get stronger, so you can reach your goal.”

“If I fail... will this be my fate? Is this really what awaits me?” I couldn’t help but let the Failed’s words hit.

“No, you have something much better waiting for you. I can feel it. Besides there’s no way that Alpha Rodger and Alpha Franklin would let you stick around with us common wolves. You’ll probably move up in ranks.”

“Am I that high in Rank?” I asked starting to doubt him.

“Oh absolutely, no one wants to see you in a real fight. There’s an insane high chance that everyone would lose within a few seconds. Besides you run the Alpha Den, our sole provider and protector. You take the simple words ‘My Pack’ and give it a real meaning of what a Pack really is. We thought it was just us but it turns out it’s everyone, everywhere you go or stay it’s Your Pack.”

“Didn’t realize that any of you held me to such a high position before.”

“Well we do, we might not say it but you hold us together. Most of us wouldn’t even talk to each other if it wasn’t for you. It would also be nice to hear you complain every once in awhile,” Lake gave a small laugh. I wondered how much trust I should put into them but Justice was against it.

‘The only trust they deserve is when they are put in their place,’ Justice often growled those words when an Alpha would act nice.

“Um... Al-Alpha Angel,” the Omega Instructor walked up to us looking nervous if the lack of eye contact and hand on her neck wasn’t a dead give away. When she finally did look at me she turned away quickly her face turning red. Lake snickered at this but tried his best to stay quiet. “You are the Silver Moon.”

Did the Omega Instructor... did she... ask me to be her mate? Silver Moon is used between mates and is paired with Golden Sun. Omega-Born’s use Silver Moon for their Alpha’s, saying that they feel safe when calling for them. It’s a very intimate saying.

Just like Silver Moon, Golden Sun is used by Alpha-Born’s for their Omega’s, saying that they rely on the warmth and care of their mate.

It’s like saying ‘I Love You’ repeatedly until you die, it doesn’t matter when it’s said or why. Right now Omega Instructor is asking me to claim them, I can’t. It would be horrible of me to make her believe that I can be her Silver Moon.

“Thank you,” I said not missing the hopeful look that soon went into disappointment when I talked more. “My heart chases the prey and I hunt alone.”

There was no real meaning of ‘No I can’t be your mate’ and this was the best I can come up with. My heart is after something else and I will continue to hunt alone until I find it.

“Then I hope you catch me soon,” she said and walked out of the room. She meant she was the Prey that I’m after and she’ll wait for me when I do catch her. It also means that if she has another mate she will give up that mate when I do catch her.

“Not even two days and already you have an older Omega mate,” Lake teased.

“That’s not true, she’s far too old for me and the chances of me taking her as a mate is next to impossible.”

“We’ll she won’t wait for you and when you do decide on taking on a mate she’s first in line.”

“I just want to focus on my training, I’ll worry about mates in like 20 years.” I watched as Jayden walked in without Knox and wondered where he was.

“What’s wrong wih the Omega?” Jayden asked as she sat down.

“She confessed and Alpha turned her down like a sack of potatoes,” I hit Lake.

“Aw, how bittersweet. Knox is talking to her now after tearing me apart about not respecting Alpha. Sorry ‘bout that. It’s your own fault for not acting like an Omega to begin with.”

“Not sure if I can forgive you,” I said and bided my time.

“Very well, list off everything that I had said that made you upset and I’ll give you some pork dumplings. No even better yet I’ll make pork dumplings!”

“Twenty dumplings for every wrong word you said to me. Deal?”

“Yeah sure deal,” she shook my hand then realized what she agreed to, “Wait what?”

“You can’t take it back, Alpha holds promises and deals like precious rabbit meat.” Lake shoved Jayden. The door opened quickly with Omega Instructor and the Omega-Born’s from the other class rushing in. Knox ushered everyone in and looked at me.

“Go Wolf and meet up at the front!” Knox called out. Before I could get up Oliver ran over to me and started nuzzling me. I heard a growl from the Omega Instructor. “Alpha! Go!”

I gently pushed Oliver away giving him a quick nuzzle and went towards the door, I took off my clothes and shifted. I ran towards the entrance and walked up to gathered wolves in a circle. One of them looked up as they were talking about waiting for Alpha Oscar and his Beta Snoopy.

“Omega-Born what are you doing up here?” the Alpha asked. I sat in the circle with the rest of them and waited for the orders of an Alpha.

“Little Omega go back inside it’s dangerous out here right now,” the wolf beside me spoke up trying to nudge me back inside.

“I was sent here-” the first wolf that spoke was a dusky brown and black Alpha with white socks, interrupted me.

“Go back inside,” he stood up ready to grab me by the scruff and drag me back if he has to. I stood up taking up his Challenge. If he was one of the Alpha’s in the Alpha Den he would know that I’m no mere Omega-Born. This Alpha must be in a different sector or is mostly out for patrols.

He rushed at me and I stayed my ground until I felt his teeth and moved away. He stumbled and turned to me growling, I folded me ears back ready for him to charge at me again. He did as I predicted and ran at me with a snarl.

I grabbed him by the scruff and tossed him down easily.

He got up and tried to grab me again, guess he didn’t get it. I’ll need to force a submission. One of the Alpha’s noticed this and tried to break us up. I growled at the one that was going for me and clicked my fangs near his muzzle.

The Alpha I was against actually drew blood from the wolf that was trying to stop him and I growled grabbing his scruff and started shaking him. I tossed him down and was about to look at the Alpha that was bleeding but the Downed Alpha got up snapped at the Alpha that was trying to calm me down earlier. I growled and actually threw the Alpha down and held him down growling in his face.

The dusky brown Alpha flailed his legs as I held his neck down growling. Coach walked by and sat with his back to us waiting.

The Alpha submitted.

Letting him up, he whimpered and I quickly checked the bleeding Alpha gave him a quick lick and went to the Alpha that I clicked my fangs at and gave him a gentle lick. Both had wagged their tails at the apology.

Coach called me over and I went over and sat on his right as he instructed with his growls. The Alpha that I forced a submit sat at the left.

“Alpha Snow, as you know Alpha Angel is suppose to be here. You’ve seen first paw of why I have him here. I hope I won’t see any more disagreements.” Coach said sternly while I watched the treeline. If the Alpha’s here are gathered for something important, will it affect our food and water? “A Rouge Pack had wandered near our territory and won’t leave.”
“A Rouge Pack?” Alpha Snow asked.

“What’s their objective?” I asked getting Coach on track with what’s important.

“We’re unsure, I hope you will talk to them so we can figure out a proper plan.”

“What is that suppose to mean?” Alpha Snow asked. I didn’t ask anything because this was also what I wanted to know.

“You remember that story about an Offering?”

“I remember, so you want to use me as bait to figure out their true intentions. If this is an offical peace treaty they’ll present their own Omega-Born. But why me?” I asked.

“Who wouldn’t want an Alpha like you? You are far better than any wolf here and if they don’t present then the deal is off.”

“Do you think they harmed the food and water supply?” I asked satisfied with the answer for now.

“Not to my knowledge but I’ll send a patrol to check after we’ve delt with the Rouge’s. If it is damaged then we’ll have to get our food and water from town.”

“That’ll be expensive, if their goal is to damage our Pack from lack of nutrients then they’ll suceed. It will also damage us finacially which we can’t afford because Winter will be on it’s way.” I said and started to think of what could be done. “Alright, if their objective is to ruin our Pack we will fight. Justice how many Alpha’s do you think can take on a Rouge? One Alpha can take on two Rouge’s?”

Looking at the Alpha’s our Pack was far too small for something like this. I looked back to the trees.

“Do you think some Rouge’s would be hiding in the shadows? Yeah I wouldn’t put it past them either. If we have more members we’ll put them in the shadows.”

Some wolves rush from the treeline, “We spotted five Rouge’s at the edge of our border.”
